Customer Service Manager Lauren at the Lacewood location in Halifax--ooof.
My husband and I went intot he branch very worried because our son, who is out of province, and had his TD card flagged for fraud. He had called customer service, was told to go to a branch. He did. They said they couldn't help because his ID didn't match the id on the account. (My husband opened the account for our son when he was a minor 10+ years ago. We have moved province. All the ID we opened it with is expired. TD never asked my husband or son for updated ID). We went into the Lacewood branch, and Lauren directed us to tell our son to call another 800 TD number (loss and fraud number)...he did. Another half our wasted, said they were unable to help. Instead of helping, getting the manager...she kept trying to justify how his card could have been flagged. Then, "why doesn't he just use another card?" Dismissive. (He doesn't have another card). To parents worried about their son 500 miles away with no other way to have access to all his money. When someone is drowning, you get a sense of urgency on how to help...not try to speculate at how they fell in the water. Looking at moving to a credit union for the whole family. I see other low reviews on here for TD. In my experience, they are justified. My son for 15 years has paid banking fees, asked nothing of them, and through no fault of his, had his card flagged for fraud and blocked, when he needed it most.

Paid my bill a day early and the next day they charged me twice and put my account into a negative state. and I called them to see if they can give me my money back that they over charged and told me that it will take 40-90 days to get the money back which is absolutely ridiculous. I now don’t have any food until I get paid next week :(

This is a second complaint related to an attempted wire transfer. I initiated a wire transfer last Thursday which should have been executed the same day. It was just executed - 4 business days late!!! I visited the bank many times, always being told the wire was “in a compliance review”. I had made a wire just a week before to the same recipient? I asked to speak with a regional manager and was given Kevin Taylor’s name and number. As he did not answer his phone I left a detailed vmail including a request he call me back. Nothing. After I made arrangement for another service provider to make the wire TD Bank completes the wire today and charged me $30. Could not be less customer friendly and competent!!!

Poor Service

I went to the branch on 4401 Amboy Road. I have been a customer since the day they opened that branch.
They are slowly losing customers due to the fact that Michael the branch manager
Really isn't an asset TD Bank.
A lot of people feel the service and the policies at other Banks
Such as Flagstar and M&T are appreciative of your business and it shows because they retain their customers for years.
I am not satisfied with customer service at this branch.

TD Bank: When Customer Service Becomes an Email Inbox

TD Bank also seems to rely heavily on email when it comes to resolving urgent mortgage issues.

It took more than a week to reach the department responsible for closing and mortgage lien releases on an existing loan. The issue stemmed from an error that placed a lien from another mortgage onto a property we were selling. This created unnecessary delays, stress, and uncertainty during a time-sensitive real estate transaction.

The only way the issue was ultimately resolved was through email. When we asked how our attorney could contact the department to obtain the mortgage release, the response was simply, “Reply to this email.” There was no direct phone number, no opportunity to speak with someone handling the matter, and no sense of urgency.

When did we replace good customer service—especially for critical, time-sensitive mortgage issues—with endless email chains? Situations involving home closings and legal documents deserve direct communication with knowledgeable professionals, not an inbox.

After 45 years in customer service, I can honestly say this was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had. The unnecessary delays, stress, and lack of direct communication turned what should have been a straightforward resolution into an exhausting ordeal that could had been handled expeditiously by a person!

Not Human

My mother was 88 and my sister lived with her who was always dealing with high functioning autism.... When I finally took over the account, I found that there were over 1200 dollars in over draft charges... My sister was getting 20 dollars out of the bank with the bank card and it was costing 35 dollars every time... If this bank was human like there trying to portray, a red flag had to be up on this account, but because there was an auto deposit they just let it go..if there Human there a greedy one... I'm not a banker so I can't tell anyone how to fix this... Just want to warn others that this bank is not Human...

The worst Bank in the USA!
Is a Canadian Bank and has disgusting customer service rep.
The Managers work remotely and not even from the office!
What a joke TD Bank
I never received my debit card in the mail. I asked them to overnight the card and they told me NO!
They canceled 2 cards and never shipped the replacement one.
The Managers are incompetent and racist toward white customers.
Never again I will Bank with this awful Canadian Bank.
Stay away,

I had aminor problem at the drive-thru ATM (my own error). I went in the bank and Jason came in form his 'office', got behind the counter, and assisted me. He provided a great level of customer service.

I had a very frustrating experience at the TD Bank branch on 1247 Main Street in Watertown, CT.

I visited the branch to obtain a cashier's check for a large amount. The funds involved had a clear and documented electronic history. The money had previously been withdrawn from my account, later returned, and additional funds were deposited, all through traceable transactions reflected in my account records.

Despite the documented transaction history, I was subjected to extensive questioning regarding my own funds. After what felt like an interrogation, and discriminatory practices, Branch Manager Lorena Xhuti ultimately refused to issue the cashier's check.

I was not given an explanation that justified the refusal, especially considering the clear electronic trail associated with the funds.

What made the situation even more confusing was that I subsequently visited the TD Bank branch on West Main Street in Waterbury, The staff there reviewed the transaction, treated me professionally, and issued the cashier's check without issue. The difference in service between the two branches was striking.

My concern is the lack of consistency in how customers are treated and how banking services are provided. If one branch can process a legitimate transaction without difficulty, customers should expect the same standards at another branch.

The professionalism shown by the Waterbury branch only highlighted the disappointing experience I had in Watertown.
I hope TD Bank reviews this matter and works toward ensuring consistent customer service, clear communication, and fair treatment across all of its branches.

I am TD customer with multiple accounts and loans. I went into the TD location in St Johnsbury to have a notary motorized come document s for my daughter and they refused to help us . Very disappointed with TD service. Makes me want to switch banks. Went down the street to another bank that I didn’t have an account with and they helped us out at no charge and notarized the docs.

After 44 Years of Banking, This Was the Worst Experience

On April 24, 2026, I deposited a $5,000 check from my Truist business checking account into my TD Bank personal checking account, as I routinely do once each month for my personal draw. The check posted on April 27, and the funds were withdrawn from my Truist account that same day. TD initially showed a release date of April 28.

However, on April 28, I received an email stating that TD Bank was placing an additional seven-business-day hold on the check, with no meaningful explanation whatsoever. At that point, the $5,000 had already been removed from my business account, yet I still could not access the funds in my personal account.

The funds were not released until May 5. In total, TD Bank held my $5,000 for 12 days without providing a reasonable explanation, paying any interest, or offering so much as an apology.

This has never happened to me at Truist, SunTrust before the Truist merger, or during my 44 years of banking. I closed my TD Bank personal checking account immediately. Completely unacceptable customer service. HORRIBLE!

I had a Tax Levy from the CT DRS

I had a Tax Levy from the CT DRS, which TD bank is supposed to review, i live on Social Security benefits and back taxes are exempt from payment. TD bank took my funds anyway. I had a hearing with the DRS and they awarded the funds to me. TD Bank has held my money since October 2025, totaling almost $1000, and have not returned it as of today 5/26/2026. Tax Levy dept is completely incompetant, and no one at the bank has any real info for me ever and they seem not to care. At this point i consider this theft/ fraud and will consider filing a formal complaint to authorities. TD Bank will not refund my tax levy fee of $125, they claim they need documents from the DRS to do so, which is not correct

No longer America’s most convenient bank

TD Bank used to be America’s most convenient bank now whenever I go to make a deposit with cash I am required to get a text message , respond with my pin number-and today they asked me for ID. I could understand it if you were taking money out.. this practice causes delays in the drive-thru... I understand they have policies in place but I do not understand why a customer should have to give id when making a deposit… and may I add they are now closed on Sundays where they used to be open seven days a week..

I have been with TD bank for as long as…

I have been with TD bank for as long as I can remember. I love this bank and can't say enough about the high level of service I always receive. I had several charges show up on my account that I knew nothing about and called immediately. Gary in the went through everything with me and told me that my card was canceled, (my request) and a new one would be there soon. He went over everything and answered all of my questions. This morning I noticed an email from this company that charged the money and went in personally to see someone at my branch. I explained that I had looked at the website, but not authorized any charges. Makale helped me and helped me with some additional information. I am so grateful. I have never had bad service at this bank
