Urgent: Unresolved Tax Refund Case with Taxback TR

In the summer of 2023, I worked in the United States through the Work and Travel program, and since the beginning of 2024 I have been working with Taxback TR for my tax refund. I applied through Taxback TR in February 2024, and despite more than three years having passed, neither has my tax refund been paid to me nor have I received any satisfactory information about the process.
During the application process, they charged me a $70 service fee, which I paid via bank transfer. However, I was not provided with any official document, tracking number, or email such as “your application has been received” or “your application is being processed.” At the same time, my friends who applied on their own received their tax refunds long ago, whereas I have been disadvantaged because I chose to work with Taxback TR.
I have tried to contact the company many times via phone, WhatsApp, and other communication channels. At first, I only received dismissive responses such as “we are also waiting,” and after a while they stopped responding altogether and completely cut off communication. For a long time now, there has been no one I can reach who is genuinely following up on my case.
I request a full refund of the $70 service fee I paid, as well as the immediate payment of my rightful tax refund. I expect this long-standing grievance to be resolved as soon as possible.

Şubat 2024’te Taxback TR üzerinden başvurumu yaptım, aradan 3 yılı aşkın süre geçmesine rağmen ne vergi iadem tarafıma ödendi ne de süreçle ilgili tatmin edici bir bilgi alabildim.
Başvuru sürecinde benden 70 dolar hizmet ücreti aldılar ve bu ödemeyi havale ile gerçekleştirdim. Buna rağmen herhangi bir resmi belge, takip numarası, “başvurunuz alındı” ya da “işleme alındı” şeklinde bir mail veya doküman tarafıma gönderilmedi. Aynı dönemde başvurusunu kendi yapan arkadaşlarım vergi iadelerini çoktan aldılar, ben ise Taxback TR ile çalışmayı tercih ettiğim için mağdur oldum.
Şirketle telefon, WhatsApp ve diğer iletişim kanalları üzerinden pek çok kez irtibata geçmeyi denedim. Başlarda sadece “biz de bekliyoruz” şeklinde geçiştiren yanıtlar aldım, bir süre sonra ise artık ona bile cevap vermez hale geldiler ve tamamen iletişimi kestiler. Uzun süredir ulaşabildiğim, süreci gerçekten takip eden kimse yok.
Hem ödediğim 70 dolar hizmet bedelinin eksiksiz iadesini hem de hak ettiğim vergi iademin ivedilikle tarafıma ödenmesini talep ediyorum. Uzun süredir devam eden bu mağduriyetimin bir an önce giderilmesini bekliyorum.

Would rate 0 stars if I could to be honest. Used their services last year for my Canadian tax return, they took forever to do this with little communication and took a large deduction that I wasn't informed of until after I had agreed to use their services. Following this I was never forwarded my documents which means this year I now cannot access my old or create a new CRA account, which is preventing me from filing my taxes for this year, with or without the help of an agency. I have tried to conatct them many times and they just don't respond. If I lose my money for this year the blame belongs only to Taxback.
Taxback has stopped tax return services in Canada?
I was in Canada with an IEC work permit and was shocked to find out that taxback.com has stopped services in Canada last year. Why did this happen?
Looking around on Google I found the Canadataxback.com website, that helped me with this year's tax return. It was done within 1 day without any hassle. They say, if you were in Canada with an IEC they can help.

been waiting for someone to get back to me for almost a month, they handled my tax return in canada last year and have changed my address so I cannot access my CRA account and my refunds will be sent to them. awful customer service, be very careful if you're parting with your hard earned money to this company.

I am very pleased with the tax refund I received this year through Taxback Ireland. Even with the recent changes Revenue made to the overall process, using Taxback's services made everything straightforward. Their agent S. D. handled everything and ensured I got the best possible refund. An excellent choice and I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a hassle-free tax refund experience!

I would give a 0 if I could. We used Taxback.com because that’s who TWHC (the working holiday club) reccomended/used. Worst experience ever. Everything seemingly seems straight forward until the end. You sign the electronic documents and that gives them the right to basically do your return for you. However I haven’t got a copy of my tax return, they didn’t help me get money I was owed as I earned such a low income. I cannot access my CRA account because I don’t have access to any of this information and your CRA account is pretty important. They are terrible at communicating I have been trying to sort this for ages and they take so long to respond. Do not recommend!! Use wealth simple, they are prompt and they get you what your owed. We had a whole resort of people who used wealth simple and they got a whole extra $900-$1300 dollars more in there tax return!! Don’t use TAXBACK.COM

Poor Customer Support back up
We have been loyal customers of yours for many years and again this year I sent our 2025 claim to a lady who had previously dealt with us. I submitted on 14th January got a reply saying it would be dealt with. I sent a email on 21st January and got same rep,y. I assumed our claim would be dealt with. When it went on for another week with no contact from Taxback I checked our 2024 claim and found another agent helped us last year so sent claim to her. In fairness she got back and is dealing with it. If I had not contacted Svletvana would our claim ever have been dealt with. The response to my first two emails led me to believe we would be dealt with but I feel now no support would have been given to us. I find this level of service very poor and there is something wrong with your customer support service. Please call me back as I have already paid 99 euro for 2025 work and Ifeel this should be refunded to me to compensate for your very poor service this year dealing with customer queries
Paid Upfront, Ignored Afterwards — A Very Disappointing Experience with Taxback.com
I had previously used Taxback.com with no issues — they were fast, responsive, and easy to deal with. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the complete opposite.
Since they introduced an upfront fee, the level of service has noticeably declined. Once they had taken their payment, there seemed to be no urgency whatsoever to actually submit my claim. Communication was practically non-existent unless I chased them repeatedly for updates.
The agent handling my case appeared completely uninterested in progressing the claim. It felt like, because they already had their fee, there was no incentive for them to provide any level of service.
After weeks of delays and ignored follow-ups, I finally had to call and state that if my claim was not submitted that day, I would be issuing a chargeback through my credit card and filing a complaint with the CCPC. Remarkably, the claim was submitted within an hour of that call.
That says everything.
I will never use this service again. I’ve learned that it would be far less stressful to handle this myself than deal with the frustration, delays, and lack of professionalism I experienced this time.

Unfortunately after multiple contact attempts and 3 weeks of chasing multiple agents within the business I’m unable to recieve confirmation that our tax application has been Lodged - anyone submitting the returns themselves is receiving their money from revenue within 3 days, while I’m waiting days to hear back from Taxback
I tried to call the Taxback office today with no luck either as the agent looking after our application has finished for the day according to the receptionist I got through to, which means it has been two weeks since we received our initial estimation and the application has still not been lodged
I have been a customer of Taxbacks for the last 6 years and ive never seen such poor customer service from them

So unhappy & frustrated with the service. Filled out my 4 year Irish tax return details online 14th Nov. Was not contacted for documents needed. I rang 1 week later & an agent emailed me for documents which I sent immediately. Another week went by & no update. I rang again, a different agent emailed me, was told first agent had left the company. Sent same documents again. More time went by & no update so rang & emailed again last week & was told invoice would be issued 8th Dec. No invoice so emailed agent. Finally got & paid invoice on 9th Dec. Emailed proof of payment & requested update on when return would be filed. Agent emailed me for same documents again which I sent for a third time. Emailed & rang today for an update & no response. I had hoped this would be an easy & stress free option to file my return instead it’s the opposite, so stressful & frustrating. Now I’m out of pocket having paid my invoice & still no tax refund. I wish I’d just filed the return myself, I would have my refund.
Update 16th December:
Hard to believe but it actually got worse! The calculations for 2 of the years was wrong. I had pay 2 further invoices. The return finally went into revenue. I got the liability statements for the 4 years & the refund from Revenue. But one of the years was filed wrongly with revenue, a considerable tax credit was not included in the filing of the return so the refund was a lot less. Your invoice is based on the refund. I emailed Taxback, sent a copy of the liability statement & was asked to check mine & my spouse’s bank account. The refund can’t be in the bank account if it’s not on the return to Revenue. So currently waiting to see if this is resolved.

I have been requesting documents for months by email and phone with no reply. I have now missed out on purchasing a property as I didn't get the needed documents to the mortgage company on time. Still no response to this day. Avoid at all costs.

I think I may be clicked on their website weeks ago I have had two calls now. Both times I told them I have no need of their service.
Super patronising telling me that maybe I've applied for the wrong thing when I advised him that I have already made my work from home claim via HMRC I understand you are trying to sell a service but infantilizing people does not gain you customers. The advisor sounded about 12 himself
Edit based on reply, if they dont even offer the services i was being pressured into buying, that's even worse.

Frustrating and disappointing experience!
My experience with Taxback.com was deeply frustrating and disappointing.
I reached out hoping to understand whether I had any tax refund due from my time in Ireland, something that, as I later discovered, the Revenue provides for free. From the very beginning, the service felt vague, impersonal, and focused solely on charging fees rather than genuinely helping.
Before I could receive any meaningful information, I was asked to pay an upfront fee (€39), even though they could not confirm if I was actually eligible for a refund. When I asked for clarification, the responses were uncertain and generic: phrases like “you might be entitled to something” or “we’ll only know after payment”. For a company that claims tax expertise, this lack of clarity is troubling.
The most revealing part came when I contacted a competing agency. Within 24 hours, a professional explained exactly what I was entitled to — and even clarified that some of the services Taxback.com charges for are in fact available for free directly through the Revenue. Had it not been for my poor experience here, I wouldn’t have discovered this. So in a way, I’m grateful: it led me to the truth.
Unfortunately, my impression is that Taxback.com relies heavily on clients’ lack of awareness, particularly non-Irish residents, rather than offering a genuinely transparent or customer-focused service.
Conclusion: I do not recommend using this service. If you're unsure about your tax situation in Ireland, start by contacting the Revenue directly or speak with a professional who will explain your rights before asking for money.

Unresolved Tax Process in over 1 year.
It has now been over a year since I entrusted your company with managing my U.S. tax process, first under the supervision of Fanny Geldres and now with Kalina Ivanova. What was supposed to be a professional, reliable service has turned into an exhausting, unresponsive, and frankly unacceptable experience.
As a direct result of your company’s incompetence and lack of accountability, I have been denied a U.S. visa for the second time. I was explicitly told my tax process would be completed by this month, which is why I scheduled my visa appointment accordingly—only to be left without answers for over four months, despite multiple follow-ups.
I have submitted all required documentation, including the updated state form this month, and once again, no reply, no updates, no responsibility.
At this stage:
• I have lost $180 due to the visa denial.
• I have no clarity on the status of the process.
• I am beginning to believe that I have been scammed.
If I do not receive an immediate, concrete response and resolution, I will:
1. Initiate legal action to recover all payments made.
2. File a formal complaint with consumer protection entities.
3. Share my experience publicly on professional platforms like LinkedIn, so other professionals do not fall victim to the same lack of ethics and professionalism.
I am sending this also through e-mail attaching all the correspondence with dates and my client number. I will wait until 30.06.2025 for your response and solve this situation. After that, I will proceed accordingly.
