Our driver Shaban was incredible
Our driver Shaban was incredible, he was very friendly, sweet and compassionate he knew his way around very well, and was an excellent driver. Communication was also very good.
I’m taking one star out just because the car seemed a bit dated, some of the windows won’t open, and we noticed that other cars from the same company offered free WiFi on board but our car didn’t, it would’ve been nice to know about that option before and have it available.

5-day private safari with migration
We did a 5-day private safari with Tanzania Specialist. Joshua was a great guide and we were able to see the great migration across the Mara river in the Northern Serengeti as well as seeing all the big 5 and much more. The accomodation options were all wonderful, with really kind hosts. Don’t hesitate to use Tanzania Specialist to make your itinerary - it was a trip of a lifetime!

Unforgettable holiday.
From welcoming us on the airport to saying goodbye was an unforgettable experience. All the drivers was excellent. Ramadan was our guide, driver and became a friend. His driving skills on difficult dirt roads and hectic traffic with crazy drivers and silly motorbikes were impressive. Ramadan made our holiday unforgettable, he was calm, friendly and you could ask him anything. Our accommodation was great. Moon bow lodge was a highlight, the staff there was exceptional. Our first stay was too far from the airport. After long flights you don't want to drive another hour in the dark to accommodation. The accommodation was far from everything and we were there for two days. We thought you can walk into town when we booked. Recommend to guests when they make the mistake that I did, that it would be better to move on after the early flight around Kilimanjaro. Wich I will recommend ,it was fantastic .we feel we waisted a day. That was the only negative feedback which is minor. The rest of the tour was excellent planned and we all had an unforgettable experience. When we had a request for a vehicle to pick up friends for an airport drop off, the reply and help was promptly and very helpful.
We all will recommend Tanzania Specialist . We are already planing to come back when our grandson turns 10. Thank you so much for a wonderful unforgettable holiday. It was a privilege to visit your beautiful country. May God bless you all until next time.

Its preparation and organization was not easy at all as we did have a lot of ambition and requests for TANZANIA SPECIALIST and they (Eunice - our very best agent!) accomplished every single one of them with admirable ease and dedication... Adventure of a lifetime
We have just returned from an epic holiday/adventure that was carefully curated by Tanzania Specialist.
To start, our travel consultant Joseline was extremely patient with us, especially as it involved a lot of changes over a period of 6 months. Then a friend of mine decided to join us at a later stage(on the 12th hour) and Joseline managed to match his itinerary as closely to ours as possible, despite lack of availability. The properties were all fantastic, please see separate reviews of the properties to be posted later.
On tour, we had round the clock help from our ground support Riziki and Janeth, who were readily available to answer any queries or issues we had during our trip. The only issue we had was that our internal flights were changed by the airline, but this was managed and communicated very effectively.
Finally our kids' heroes (our guides between two families): Nashiri and Kaana who collectively made our trip one of the most memorable trips we have had. Nashiri, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about pretty much everything we could see from wildlife to trees to landscape. And his explanations were detailed yet very engaging. Kaana, my friend's guide, was equally engaging and knowledgeable with abundance amount of energy. Through their teamwork, we managed to see 3 of the big 5 on the 1st day of our safari, followed by the river crossing on the second. It wasnt too long before we saw all big 5 and eventually a black rhino at Ngorongoro. By end of our safari we had fully ticked our wishlist.
Over all, despite Tanzania Specialist being such a large organisation, we felt personally cared for at all times and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Planning a complex trip over six months, with several changes along the way, already requires patience and attention to detail, and accommodating an additional traveler at such short notice while trying to align his itinerary with yours made it even more challenging. While airline schedules are sometimes outside our direct control, our responsibility is to communicate changes clearly and work quickly to minimize any disruption, so we are pleased this was handled effectively.
And then, of course, Nashiri and Kaana! We are absolutely delighted that they became your children’s heroes and such an important part of your safari experience. Your description of Nashiri’s knowledge of wildlife, trees and landscapes, combined with his ability to make his explanations engaging, is exactly the kind of guiding experience we strive to provide. We are equally happy to hear that Kaana brought the same enthusiasm, knowledge and energy to your friend’s family.
Seeing three of the Big Five on your very first safari day, experiencing the river crossing on the second, and eventually completing your Big Five wish list including the incredible sighting of a black rhino in the Ngorongoro Crater sounds like an exceptional safari! These are the kinds of moments that stay with you long after returning home.
Most importantly, your final comment means a great deal to us. Tanzania Specialist may be a large organization, but we never want our guests to feel like just another booking. We want every traveler and every family to feel personally cared for, supported and listened to throughout their journey. Knowing that you experienced exactly that is one of the greatest compliments you could give us.

Everything went smoothly
Everything went smoothly, when there was an occasional glitch with the jeep due to the bad roads Remy managed to sort things out so we were not inconvenienced and we also received a text from Janeth to check that we were happy with the safari. The accommodation was excellent. The only thing I would like to have been different was the seating arrangements for the meals. I would have liked us to have been seated with other travelers so we could share experiences

Great trip, lots of game
All went well. The Safari was very exciting with a great variety of game. The driver was very good and did his best to make us feel comfortable. The holidays on Sansibar were also great. Problems with the lodge though, but they could partially been resolved.

Geweldige ervaring rijker
onze voorbereiding is al bijna een jaar voor vertrek gestart.
Omdat we met Afrika specialist naar Kenia zijn geweest, was Tanzania specialist eigenlijk gelijk de 1e keus.
Communicatie met Lisa in de voorbereiding was erg fijn. snelle reactie en fijne info .
Helaas zaten er al 2 1e keuzes vol zover van tevoren maar Lisa had gelijk 2 alternatieven die we hebben geboekt.
Info vooraf is ruim voldoende om goed voorbereid op reis te gaan.
Helaas was het 1e hotel niet wat we ervan verwachten. Kamer was super maar het eten................. en het bed. kon echt beter (Raha WIldlife).
De volgende dag staat onze gids/chauffeur mooi op tijd klaar gelukkig was er gelijk een klik met Meckson wat een vriendelijke/behulpzame man.
Hij weet zoveel te vertellen over de dieren echt bijzonder.
Gelukkig zijn de andere hotels wel fijn en een echte aanrader vonden wij Lion's Paw wat een verwennerij en heerlijk eten.
We hebben genoten van een heerlijk safari en we hebben de migratie gezien door het geduld en ervaring van Meckson (wij waren al eerder weggegaan)
Na 8 dagen safari gaan we nog heerlijk een kleine week naar Zanzibar.
We nemen afscheid van Meckson, erg fijn etijd met hem gehad
Dit was eigenlijk het enige chaotische vd vakantie we vetrekken vanaf Kogatende. Met een vertraging van 4,5 uur wat niet/slecht wordt gecommuniceerd en we ook vanuit Tanzania Specialist weinig hulp/reactie krijgen. zo goed als we in Nederland werden te woord gestaan zo moeizaam vond ik de communicatie met onze contactpersoon ter plaatse.
Maar overal was alles erg fijn en hebben we een heerlijk afsluiting gehad op Zanzibar.
We zaten in Legendary Zanzibar
Super mooie kamers, zwembaden en het eten was echt TOP*****

Het spijt ons dat Raha Wildlife niet volledig aan jullie verwachtingen voldeed, met name wat betreft het eten en het bed. Amazing experience thanks to our guide!
We travelled through tarangire, manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and had an unbelievable time thanks to our guide Jonas. His knowledge, conversation and experience meant we had so many amazing experiences, seeing over 70 lions, 10 chetahs, 3 Rhinos, and 5 leopards, not to mention hundreds of elephants, hippo's and giraffe and thousands of zebra, wildebeest and gazelles. He seemed to have a sixth sense for finding everything we wanted to see and generally when there were hardly any other trucks around. He was an absolute pleasure to meet, completely made our trip and made us feel safe across the whole week. Thank you Jonas!

Our incredible driver/guide Wilson made…
Our incredible driver/guide Wilson made our experience one we will never forget. He was the best guide we have ever had on any tour we have done anywhere in the world.
Angel was excellent and very helpful throughout the process and the organisation overall was first rate.
There was a mix up with our Stonetown tour starting in Zanzibar but I believe that was a simple miscommunication between Tanzanian Specialist and Destination Specialist TZ.
Acommodation exceeded our expectations with one exception which fell well below the service we experienced in all other lodges. Enkutoto lodge was very disorganised and disappointing with service. The staff were friendly enough but really seemed to have very little understanding of what they should be doing. Payment for the extras we consumed while staying was made very difficult with the electronic payment system having "broken"the day after we arrived and the only method left to pay was in cash. This meant we were left with no cash for the rest of the safari tour.
This did not spoil our expereince but certainly we would not recommend any of our friends to stay in this lodge.
Overall with only one exception, Enkutoto Camp, I would highly recommend Tanzanian Specialist to our friends and family

Safari and Zanzibar in 12 days with Tanzania Specialist
One of the biggest tour operators in Tanzania, which made us feel safe all through our journey. The planning and booking process was smooth, TS was flexible and managed to adapt the proposal to our requests 100%, eg changing hotels better meeting our needs. The pre-holiday brief was really helpful with all the info about the country, what to expect, tipping, etc. The trip was well organized with no mishaps, we had a fantastic holiday, would recommend this adventure definetely!

Our experience was on the whole great! All the accomodations were very good with the exception of the Mateves lodge which was average. The people everywhere were very nice, polite and extremely accomodating. Our guide was great, good natured, good driver and most importantly experienced! The booking process was well organized and the communication with the personnel very good! The total cost was slightly high. However on the whole we were very satisfied.

Trip was Amazing/The Administrative side a nightmare
First of all, let me say that the trip itself was fantastic. The safari, hotels, and food were all five-star. Our guide, Calvin, was exceptional and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to make sure we had the best experience possible.
Unfortunately, the administrative side of the trip has been a nightmare.
Two different couples in our group were each charged $633 for a nighttime game drive that neither couple requested or took part in. In one case, the couple simply asked about the game drive and how much it would cost. Two days later, they were charged $633. The invoice did not clearly identify what the charge was for, so they assumed it was the final payment for the trip and paid it.
We traveled in June, and it is now August. They are still trying to get their money back for a service they never requested and never received.
What makes the situation even more concerning is that, at one point, a Tanzania Specialist representative told one of the couples that their money would not be refunded unless they removed their negative review.
That is extremely disappointing and not the way a reputable travel company should handle a billing mistake. The safari experience itself was outstanding, and I would have no hesitation recommending the guides, accommodations, and overall safari experience. However, the administrative and customer-service issues have seriously taken away from what should have been an exceptional experience from beginning to end.
I hope Tanzania Specialist addresses these issues and improves its billing and customer-service practices. Customers should not have to fight for months to receive a refund for a service they never requested or received.

Our safari with Tanzania Specialist was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Our travel consultant Diana was extremely responsive and helpful. The itinerary and information she provided covered all of our queries. The standard of accommodation provided was very high. Every staff member we met was a credit to the company.
Our guide and driver, Fred was fantastic. He was a very experienced safari guide, getting us to the right place at the right time and sharing facts and stories with us. He was also a brilliant, very safe driver. Everything was extremely well organised and coordinated. Fred made sure we were relaxed and comfortable throughout our safari and we had a 5-star experience we will remember forever.
