Just returned from our 8‑day Western Europe group tour to the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Paris with Taipan Tours, and we are delighted to give our Tour Guide, Richard Chan, a well‑deserved 5‑star review.
Richard is an exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable guide. Before entering each country, he took the time to explain its history, culture, and what we could expect. At every destination, he ensured we visited all the important landmarks and understood the significance behind them, often giving in‑depth explanations both before arrival and on-site.
His professionalism truly stood out.
He handled our online check‑ins, airport procedures, baggage tags, and ensured every traveller was safely cleared before taking care of himself.
Each day, he provided a clear plan in advance — timings, places to visit, food arrangements, and helpful tips.
Despite having a large group of about 38 travellers, mostly Chinese-speaking, Richard patiently repeated every explanation in fluent English for our smaller group of around 10. His ability to switch seamlessly between languages was impressive.
At hotels, he took the trouble to help with check‑ins and ensured everyone received suitable rooms according to their needs.
On the road, he amazed us with how well he knew his way around busy European cities, coordinating perfectly with our driver on where to stop, park, and pick us up — even in the most challenging locations.
We also want to commend our driver, Vlados, who was excellent — safe, skilled, and always ensuring a comfortable journey.
Overall, Richard’s dedication, patience, and deep experience made this trip smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable. We are grateful for his outstanding service and highly recommend him to anyone considering a group tour.
