I first read the positive reviews on Instagram and their site before ordering. Before I received the product I read the reviews here and was afraid to try it based on some that say it really damaged their hair and the color didn’t look good.

I ended up trying it (I figured once couldn’t do too much harm, and hair eventually grows back). I love the results!

How I used: showered, blowdried until damp, spritzed some on, finished blow drying. I saw lighting immediately after which grew over the day.

My hair felt a little on the dry side after use (I also naturally have dry hair), so the next day I used a popular bonding treatment left on for 20 min (got my hair just slightly damp first), then washed with a blue/purple toning shampoo, then, lamellar water rinse, then conditioner like normal. My hair looks and feels amazing! It’s at least two shades lighter after 1 use with a blow dryer. I think it looks a bit lighter after washing/drying again than it did before I washed.

I plan on using this a couple more times to achieve my goal and then intermittently for maintenance. I naturally have some copper tones in my light brown hair (I was blond when younger), so I do plan on using a purple toning shampoo to balance. The results are overall even better than I expected and surprisingly on par with their Instagram/website pics.

This stuff is awful. I used this on my medium brown hair (not dyed previously). It has left it very dry and brittle. Even though it lightened my hair colour slightly, it was not worth the unhealthy looking hair it has given me. I would not recommend this product. Very disappointing! I also left this review on their website but it looks like they only publish 4+ start reviews and not anything negative. I got my haircut the other day and the hairdresser said he would not go near this product.

Do NOT use this product if you get your hair lightened at a salon. I used this product as instructed and my hair got lighter (went orange) but I thought it would make my bleaching process easier. Majority of the whole top layer of my hair burnt off due to the peroxide in this product. It’s now been almost a year later of excessive treatments/masks. My hair felt healthier again so I decided to go ahead and get it done. All the new hair growth remained but the rest of the hair on the top of my head broke off… again. Almost a year later and my hair is still suffering from this stuff. Please beware of this before purchasing. I complained to them and they said it was my hairdressers fault which is total BS as she specializes in blondes.

I don’t ever write reviews. I used this product a few times over the course of a few months. I’ve started to develop an extremely dry scalp, and now an itchy scalp. I am going to see a dermatologist because I cannot figure out why my scalp is so irritated. I have never once dyed my hair. Loved how my hair became lighter, but disappointed in the side effects.

Got this in lockdown. Sure it noticeably lightens hair, however it damaged it massively! My hair was so dry and started to break off when I brushed it. I didn't use a whole bottle and gave my hair a lot of love so luckily no lasting damage, but that's after not using it for a year and giving it a break from any colour treatment. I was left with a weird yellow colour as well. Please do not believe when they say it doesn't cause any damage!! I did not use it on heavily bleached hair either, it was lightly dyed at best and hadn't put any colour on it for 2 years prior to using this product.

Sunbabe is such an incredible product. Basically it lightens your hair a few shades for a sun-kissed look without any nasty chemicals. I’ve recommended it to so many of my friends and family because of the beautiful blonde tones this creates without any damage. My natural hair colour is light brown and Sunbabe gave me the prettiest golden babylights. My sister has darker hair and Sunbabe gave her caramel blonde tones which also look amazing. I love how Sunbabe looks good on everyone and enhances your natural beauty! I’ve read through a couple of bad reviews on this site and I feel like I have to stick up for the company because it’s obvious that the only bad reviews here are from people who did not follow instructions and have used this product incorrectly. Let me explain. Sunbabe instructs to not use on hair that has been intensively bleached already (think 6-8 shades lighter than your natural hair colour). If this is you, then this product is not meant for you because your hair is obviously really processed with bleach and it’s not a good idea to mix different lightening methods if your hair is compromised. This product is meant for people with hair that’s either natural, dyed, or bleached up to 5 shades. Put in another way, if you’re someone with reallyyyy bleached hair then this is not for you. Easy. Read the instructions people before criticizing an awesome company and product!! Hopefully whoever is reading this found it useful. I love my results with Sunbabe and will never turn back!

If you’re on the fence, I recommend checking out their Instagram highlights called “Results”. Sunbabe literally posted hundreds of customer result pics. I love that they share real life examples, it’s really authentic and transparent and it’s what convinced me to buy Sunbabe. I’m really glad I did. I love the caramel blonde tones this created in my dark brown hair. ABSOLUTELY LOVE. My hair also has zero damage, it’s very soft and shiny just as it was before. I read the few bad reviews on this page about damage, and it seems like it only happened because they used it on their hair that was already bleached a lot at the salon… which you’re not supposed to do, duh. Anyways, I think those few bad reviews are unfair and misleading for that reason. I highly recommend Sunbabe and have already turned my sister and best friend onto it. They also love it!! Natural, sun-kissed highlights for 30 bucks? Count me in!

Tried this when it first came out. My hair was already bleached all over, but with olaplex, and being naturally mousey, without much damage. Added this in the sun as directed and my hair fell out. Went to the hairdressers and had to have past shoulder length hair chopped.
I only added it to the top layer and this is still recovering on the ends. The new growth and hair that wasn’t touched is like silk. I’ve been to various salons and they all cringed when I explained what I’d done.

I have had my fair share of bright blonde hair and breaking blonde at many salons. Over covid I found this product and decided to try it.
I love it. I spray it once a month maybe, and have done twice in the sun and once in winter. It lightens might hair, but I have a red undertone. It lightens perfectly to match my eye brows, and looks beautifully natural. I've been using it for 9 months and my hair has legit NEVER been healthier. Cheapest I've ever spent to dye my hair, and I'll probably do this for life now.

OKAY. WOW. Am I dreaming??? Because I have my dream hair thanks to Sunbabe. I thought I would need to spend $400 at a salon to achieve this look but instead I got what I wanted with just half a bottle of Sunbabe! I applied the product through the body and ends of my hair and did this over a few days. I now have gorgeous lighter brown highlights that look so incredibly pretty!!! I love it so much. I was using this in lock-down because I wanted to go lighter. Today I was finally able to see a professional hairdresser again. When I told her I had been using this spray she was horrified and refused to lighten over it for fear of damaging my hair/causing it to break off. This spray also made my hair really porous causing the results of colouring to be quite unpredictable. I wrote a negative review on Sunbabe's website - but it's never actually been posted. There are only five star reviews which makes me pretty suspicious of the company.

my hair is orange, breaking, hard to brush and my scalp is flaking. It's exactly like it would be if I went to a hair dresser and they left the product in to long!

I was skeptical to use this product. I came across their page on Instagram and it looked interesting, but I wasn’t sure how the results would turn out or if it would work on me. I have ashy, light brown hair. But I’m so happy I gave this a chance!!! I absolutely love my results and would definitely recommend this. My hair is now a pretty honey blonde, and the result looks totally natural. I’ve received many compliments and people have asked me what I have used! I’m happy with the funds I’ve saved with using this as well. I experienced no damage with this product, which I was watching for closely. Shipping was reasonably fast. Would recommend!

Shipping was lengthy, I ordered from Australia but the wait was about 2.5 months. I tried the product the first day it arrived and went for. 45 minute walk in the sun. I noticed white spots appeared on my hands and they were itching from irritation. My hair texture is ringlet curls and a medium brown. The ends of my hair lightened, the colour was nice but alllll of my hair feels like straw the following day after the one use. Pretty disappointed, considering I paid $55 aud for a product that claims to be hydrating.

Lightens hair but at the cost of ruining it

Update 2024: Tried to email me to remove this post and offer me a refund- however I refused and they have now reported my review as “harmful” in an attempt to have it removed- the only thing that is harmful is this product. My hair ended up like straw!

Not convinced this is a real company. Haven't received my order and their email addresses bounce back and they don't answer their instagram messages. Avoid.

I used sunbabe hair lightener twice & it has damaged my hair so bad it’s breaking off. DO NOT use this spray.

This stuff literally dries your hair out really bad I've just had to cut my hair due to the damage after 3 days of using it in the sun. Do not recommend. Really disappointed after they claim it does not damage your hair and and you can use it once daily.

I was looking for something just like this and I'm glad I got this great product. It's perfect for blondies like me who's hair has gotten darker over time (or anyone who wants to go a few shades lighter) It might take a few times to reach your desired shade.
