I'm on styleseat as a professional.

I'm on styleseat as a professional.. they steal so much money from me it's crazy.. I've sent emails on multiple different occasions, but they never get back to me i have a lot of clients that refer new client but styleseat always claim that the client was sent by them and I have to pay a new client fee every time... and also if I opt out of styleseat marketing they won't show my profile when clients search for barbers in my area even tho I'm one of the top barbers in my area it's ridiculous.

Not the best app

It was great when I started to rebrand by business in the beginning. The fees were acceptable and the booking was flawless for my clients. Now StyleSeat fees are ridiculous! They charge the clients fees that I didn’t know on top of the fees I already pay. Let’s not mention if you have a new client StyleSeat keep the tip!!!Also I got kicked out the whole plan this year because I didn’t want to upgrade. Why would I pay more money on top of the fees just to get the same clientele i already have? That’s insane! Also I don’t like you have to wait 24 hours to get a payout to avoid paying an additional fee for the money you brought in. I feel like over the past year StyleSeat has got really greedy which is sad because it started off a great app. I was with them for over 5 years and the difference in fees and booking rates are CRAZY!!! I do not recommend the NEW STYLESEAT!!!

This website is the worst

This website is the worst. The stylists on it are scammers. The stylist I booked charged me a deposit, then rescheduled my appointment without asking me. I couldn't make the new appointment. When I went to the website to try and reschedule the new appointment, I couldn't even though it was more than 24 hrs before my appointment. Then, I couldn't even log into the website anymore. There was no way to communicate with anyone from customer service. Stay away from this website. They charge high fees; the stylists are the worse, and you will never get your money back if something goes wrong.

The Style seat platform appears to…

The Style seat platform appears to impose significantly higher costs on the customer. Stylists seemingly pass on all extra charges and additionally charge more than the advertised costs by removing deposits, yet still charging the advertised costs at checkout. This app does not exhibit customer-friendly characteristics by any means.

I had the absolute worst experience at this salon, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! I booked an appointment with QDoyja two weeks in advance for feed-in braids, sent a picture of exactly what I wanted, and followed all instructions to book through her website. I even made sure to confirm because I had a vacation planned in two days. At NO POINT did she tell me she couldn't do the style—until I arrived at the salon!

Instead of being upfront from the beginning, she waited until I got there to tell me she couldn’t do it and tried to pass me off to another stylist, Lucie, which was already a huge red flag. But since I needed my hair done, I gave Lucie a chance and showed her the same picture. What happened next was beyond frustrating.

Lucie clearly had no idea what she was doing. Instead of braiding my hair into a ponytail with a swoop like the picture, she did one random, oversized braid from the side of my head up to the back—completely wrong. I tried to explain that this was NOT what I asked for, and instead of listening or fixing it, she decided to argue with me! The first part of the braid was tiny, and then she added half a bundle of hair into one giant braid at the back—completely unbalanced and ridiculous-looking.

When I told her I wasn’t paying for a style I didn’t ask for, I walked out of the salon with ONE braid in my head.

QDoyja was nice enough to apologize and refund my deposit—but she still took $5 from it. And honestly, the whole situation was shady from the start. If she had just been honest from the beginning, I could have booked with someone else instead of being left scrambling right before my trip.

To make matters worse, this salon is filthy. Extraordinary Hair Design is NOT well-kept—it looks like it hasn’t been properly cleaned or sanitized in ages. If they can’t even keep their salon clean, imagine how they handle your hair!

Lucie is hands down the worst braider I’ve ever encountered. She doesn’t listen, has no clue how to execute a basic braid style, and has the audacity to argue with clients instead of fixing her mistakes.

Save yourself the time, money, and frustration—DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give negative stars, I would. Avoid 8012 S Tacoma Way at all costs!

I absolutely love this app. I’ve been using it since 2011 and it helped my business flourish since then. It helped me organize my clientele, brought me new clients, and taught me a lot about business analytics that also helped my business grow. I’m very happy with the way it has improved the years and how the new features makes booking convenient and communicative. Very pleased.

Been a hairstylist on styleseat since 2014. Last 5 years has been horrible, but i am trapped because I've built up my reviews and would have to start over if I left
Recently I was changed from basic to premium without wanting that...contacted customer service and was told it's irreversible. Also, for about 3 months they were intentionally blocking my availability to where clients weren't able to book, which caused me about 7k in bookings; I contacted customer service AGAIN and the rep was very inexpensive and incompetent, she pretending not to know what I was talking about even when I emailed screenshots as proof....I'm just so sad that I'm being treated like this after being with them for over 10 years. I have email proof from this horrible situation

Good Customer Service

I had an issue with my stylist charging me full price for my appointment even though I paid a deposit. Long story short, I submitted all documentation to Styleseat and requested a refund. They helped me contact the stylist and she never responded to our e-mails (or iMessages on my end too). Customer service was patient, kind, and helpful. In the end, Styleseat issued me a full refund of my deposit.

Today I am writing this in tears that every stylist, newbie or rookie should work on building their website and leave all these leaches sites alone .
For months now i joined StyleSeat to build my clientele base just because I moved from one state to another . But since then its been trauma for me ,from getting chargebacks for works I break my back for ,in hours with some ghetto broke ass clients,to getting chargebacks on deposits with appointments that clients never showed up for . While I did my part to be available in my salon . It’s been a lot ,sometimes I wake up finding some unnecessary amount deduction by StyleSeat and at the end of the day they make up some stupidest reason for you it’s draining .i joined StyleSeat so i can make money but the narration is like I’m just slaving away my life for them at this point . They charge more than 36% on your appointments,they charge you for processing fee to deposit money in your account and on top of it they still charge you for monthly fees . This is really depressing at this point ,I don’t even want clients again cause it’s like im just working for them and to top it all off,they’re weak as f’uck. Tell me how can I work on a clients even after pictures and video evidence with good review from clients then you turn around to tell me they disputed the transaction with their bank and there’s nothing you can do . It’s a shitshow and a shithole at this point . They can have it all ,I’m done and tired of this app .And this morning I woke up to see them deduct $51 from my account ,they said a client who didn’t show up for appointments asked for $35 deposit refund and why did you deduct 51 they said they now charge extra $20 fee for chargebacks . If this ain’t frustrating please tell me I’m crazy .
I went to work hoping to bring money home ,stress ,gas ,then the clients didn’t show up but then the little compensation I thought I had was stripped off me and to make matter worse I still have to pay for the charges . So tell me what the f”uck is going on .I woke up trying to cancel all my appointments today cause I’m tired and f’ed up .F*uck StyleSeat . And if I can give them zero rating I’ll do that

A chargeback serves as a form of customer protection provided by the issuing bank that allows clients to file a complaint regarding alleged fraudulent transactions on their statement. After the client files a dispute, their issuing bank investigates the complaint. Clients can dispute transactions at any time and for any reason with their banks.

When we receive a chargeback from your client's financial institution, we will reach out to you via email to inform you of the report and partner together to gather evidence to send to the bank to fight the dispute. However, the bank makes the final decision when it comes to these disputes. I'm shocked they're still in business

I'm shocked they're still in business. I worked for a salon owner who had beta tested for them and it's all we'd used for 9 years. I finally left that salon and a large portion was due to how embarrassing, and financially disadvantageous styleseat is. It's too much to explain so I'll summarize it as there's always a new issue. It's always broken in a different way. Something else significant breaks right before or after another issue is fixed. They add fees for clients while adding fees for stylists while offering garbage in return. It's just BAD. I've been doing hair a long time and used a lot of systems and this is by far the worst company. They don't even offer any useful or timely support. Asking clients for a dollar every booking is GHETTO.

Belle Deeluxe of McKenney TX…

Stylist Belle Deeluxe of McKenney TX charged 30.00 for color that completely washed out a week later and turned my purple tips green. She initially agreed to fix but then pivoted and asked me to bring the color for the redo which I refused.

Disappointed with the fee structure


As a beauty professional, I pride myself on providing excellent service to my clients, but I’m increasingly frustrated with the way StyleSeat operates. I’ve been using this platform for some time now, and while it has its benefits, the fee structure has become a significant concern for me.

To start, the new client fee of 30% on every booked appointment is quite steep. It disheartens me to think that after pouring my heart and soul into my work, I’m only left with a fraction of what I earn. It feels discouraging when I realize that I’m only seeing about 2/3 of my gross pay after StyleSeat takes their cut.

On top of the new client fee, there’s also a transaction fee that StyleSeat charges, and this is in addition to the fees charged directly to the clients for booking. It feels like a never-ending cycle of expenses, and it raises my eyebrows that they even take a cut from my tips. This is particularly saddening considering how hard I work to earn those tips.

When I finally start to account for my costs—supplies, products, and overhead expenses—the reality is that I’m not left with much. I can’t stress enough how demotivating it is to see my income dwindling due to these high fees. I want to provide the best for my clients, but the current structure makes it challenging to sustain a profitable business.

I believe that it’s time for StyleSeat to reconsider their fee policies, especially for new clients. While I understand the need for a platform to cover its costs, this model ultimately leaves beauty professionals like me feeling undervalued and overburdened. Here's hoping they can find a way to create a more balanced fee structure that supports rather than hinders our success.

Our New Client Connection Program includes a one-time 30% fee on the first appointment booked with clients we introduce. This fee applies only when a new client is referred through our marketing efforts. If one of your existing clients is mistakenly marked as a new client, please let us know! You can easily request a correction by clicking the link in the appointment details that says “new client from StyleSeat” and selecting “request a correction.”

Regarding the processing fees, these are standard across the industry and cover credit card processing costs for client payments. Additionally, StyleSeat charges a $2.35 booking fee to help maintain a seamless booking experience, which is common practice among similar platforms.

We see that you’re currently on our Basic Plan. Based on your feedback, you might find our Premium Plan beneficial. It allows you to customize your features, including the option to disable the New Client Connection Program. Plus, you can process regular appointments using any payment method, and payments processed outside of StyleSeat won’t incur our processing fee (though please note that most payment processors have similar fees).

Been with StyleSeat for 13 years

Been with StyleSeat for 13 years, and I’m glad that the company is growing, but I wish that I had more options. There’s so many features that I don’t use nor do my clients and I don’t feel like I am being heard, but I also feel like my hands are tied unless I wanna start all over again with another company, wish you had different payment plans and different options of needs from the company. I don’t need or want all the extras. I just want the basics.

10+ veteran of StyleSeat

I’ve used this platform for over 10 years so I’ve seen a lot of changes. Some good some not so good. I hate the fact that they charge stylist for referrals and the platform has a cost in and of itself. Or more times than I can count they’ve attempted to charge for new clients that were referred in from existing clients. Been really consider using a different booking platform. I think StyleSeat is great for new stylist or others looking to build tho.

What I love about style seat, is that is easy for client to reserve and add a form of payment, so when we are done with the clients, they automatically can pay or deal with the payment by themselves.
so there is not pressure there.
Also so glad when a new client send to us, normally is a client stays with us. thank You so much.

Booking app with issues! Yes!

I use styleseat as a professional. Recently changes made to their platform has impacted the way my customers and I make appointments. There should be a search when looking up services when booking! There should also be messages sent to customers in a timely manner to alert them of their appointments. Many times the alert comes once the service is completed. I also pay a-lot of fees on Styleseat $35 membership monthly, 30% new client up to $50. I also pay fees for premium appointments and fees for processing. I also bring many customers to your platform by networking and styleseat frequently says they found me a new customer and I have to email a rebuttal that takes too much time and effort for a service I pay for. I pay over $500 in fees monthly and styleseat should send more customers to me.

The $35 monthly Premium Plan subscription cost covers the basic tools that help you run your business, such as scheduling, payment processing, notifications, no-show protection, and flexible checkout.

Separate from the basic tools are StyleSeat's growth features, such as New Client Connection and Smart Pricing. These features are designed to help you grow your client base and increase your revenue. Since you're on our Premium Plan, you do have the option to disable these features at any time in your settings if you don't feel they're right for you.

Fees are outrageous

Fees are outrageous. Charging me every month is one thing but to still charge for every transaction is another. I can’t make any type of living when the middle man is getting paid twice. I pay for the premium package and you guys still charge again at checkout on the price I suggest the customer pay. So I never really get my full tips. Cause the fees every day negate that. I should have gone with The Cut App instead

The $35 monthly Premium Plan subscription cost covers the basic tools that help you run your business, such as scheduling, payment processing, notifications, no-show protection, and flexible checkout.

Separate from the basic tools are StyleSeat's growth features, such as New Client Connection and Smart Pricing. Growth features are specifically designed to help grow your client base and increase your revenue! There is also an industry standard processing fee for any payments processed through StyleSeat.

If you don't feel that these features are right for your business, since you're on our Premium Plan, you have the flexibility to disable them in your settings.
