I will not use this again

I will not use this again. I was charged and the stylist never even showed up. I was still charged the full amount. I will not trust this app again and I’ve been using it for years

I have been with Styleseat since the very beginning. I don’t really have complaints because you’ve evolved so and as you did so. Have I and my business. There are a lot of features that have been added and honestly I think you’re giving the competition a run for their money. I love the consistency of finding all my appointments in one place, being able to to my clients out safely and for upholding my rules of new and old clients. It’s easy to get through the app. There are a few kinks still left to be corrected however I am here for it!!!!

You can review your NCC settings in the app to view additional details about your activity and available opportunities.

Upon review, we noticed that your professional cancellation rate for New Client Connection appointments over the last 90 days is 44%, which is significantly higher than the typical benchmark. Frequent last-minute cancellations or declines for new clients can negatively impact your search ranking and visibility because they may create a poor booking experience for clients.

To help reduce further impact moving forward, we recommend encouraging clients to cancel through their own accounts whenever possible or rescheduling appointments instead of canceling them outright.

DO NOT USE!

I highly recommend not using this app unless you wanna gamble with your money. The stylist can cancel your appointment anytime and not refund you your deposit. To make it worse StyleSeat itself is no help as they allow the stylist to take your money without rendering services and then leaves it up to you to try and retrieve your money back. DO NOT USE THIS APP!

The con artist on StyleSeat app

I thought this was going to be a decent person (KAJEANA MANORS) upon selecting this hair stylist for me to gettin LOCS I made an appointment on June 21st and put down my deposit through the app 453 and was thinking I was going to the address on the website appointment was for June 22nd at 9:45 came to the appointment at a different location and in a different city I would not have gotten or wanting to get this lady buy me paying the deposit for $53 and it said for my end of balance $211 but that's not what it was when I got to her new location that she's at so upon her trying to set a price I told her I will call her and let her know if I was going to go along with what she said before making another appointment but before I can give her a call Three hours later that same car that I had used to pay the deposit she took it upon herself and charged me $200 before I can call her back to make her another appointment I asked for her to give my money back and she wanted to go ghost on me I have spoken to her today on June 23rd and she said it was a accident the app charged my card so I told her we'll accidentally go ahead and put my money back on the card nothing good came out the conversation over the phone so I am continuing my investigation through my card service to get my money back and also I'm taking this to the police department all the info of us having our conversations so they can get on her as well

I've used styleseat for about 7 plus years I remember when there was a zero membership and one you could choose to pay now it's $35 to $45 a month . I recently moved to another state and I have had so many mind blowing issues with styleseat.This platform says they will bring you new clients and market you .. they don't I've went months paying for a subscription with no clients from styleseat.the new client fee $50 "IF" they bring you a new client.ive had issues were people click my link from social media and styleseat sends a notification as if they bought me a new client.This is extra frustrating ,you have to prove you know the person via email/tickets I feel like dealing with people's money there should be a 1800 number to call and speak to someone.I have also experienced withholdings from my earnings stating they can't transfer monies because of my bank account when I've never changed it .My instant payout never works I've even had to wait for 2 1/2 weeks because they kept saying my transactions didn't go through which once again I've always had the same bank ... Styleseat use to be an ok platform but now I've absolutely feel like I've wasted money and time paying on a subscription that doesn't uphold what they state in there policy.its SOOOO much more...i can count on one hand how many clients styleseat has sent me.the system glitches to were me as a stylist can't give my clients other options to pay ... Some clients use cards that don't work .. some prefer to pay cash ...$420 every year $35 a month that's just the subscription it's just not worth it anymore..

StyleSeat charges fees in addition to the standard subscription, which support ongoing investments in features and tools designed to help Pros run and grow their businesses. Recent enhancements include Deposits, Custom Websites, and other resources aimed at improving visibility, streamlining operations, and attracting new clients.

If clients don’t use your booking link to complete their appointment, they can be incorrectly marked as new. To correct this, you can decline the new client pop-up, verify the client’s phone number, or request a correction through appointment details. We can also make adjustments on our end to help prevent future misidentifications.

All appointments booked through New Client Connection or Smart Pricing require automatic checkout; however, these features can be adjusted in account settings, and Smart Pricing can also be removed at the appointment level. If you prefer to process payments manually, updating the payment method within one hour after the appointment’s scheduled end time will prevent the system from automatically charging the card on file. We’re happy to provide guidance on these settings to ensure you have the flexibility you need.

For payout and Instant Payout concerns, there are several possible causes, including account reviews, payout failures, banking changes, or eligibility differences. Because these are account-specific, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

Regarding phone support, we’re currently exploring expanded support channel offerings, including phone support, and will share updates as they become available. • Massive Cuts: They take nearly 50%.
(Example: You earn $188, you only keep $96).
• Hidden Client Fees: They charge your clients random fees without telling you.
• Unfair Charges: They charge you "new client fees" even for your own loyal clients.
• Double-Dipping: You pay transaction fees
PLUS an extra fee for same-day cash out.

The Client & Service Nightmares:

• Useless Support: Customer service is just outdated Al, you will never get a human. They claim to help within 24 hours, but they never actually respond or get back to you. Just send you screenshots of old pictures, that may or may not look like your screen.
• Booking Barriers: The system forces every client to create a full profile just to book an appointment.
• Payment Traps: Even if you manually add a client yourself, the system still forces them to make a profile just to pay their bill.

The Reality Check:

• Fake "Instant" Pay: Even after paying for same-day cash out, you still have to wait 4 hours for your money.
• Zero Support: You still do 100% of the marketing and "footwork" yourself.
• Low Lead Value: If they actually send you a client, you walk away with even less than $96.

Bottom Line: It feels like you are working for them, not yourself. Do your research and keep running!

StyleSeat charges standard payment processing fees, and for clients acquired through New Client Connection, a one-time 30% fee applies only to the first appointment. Future appointments with that client are not subject to the fee. We understand that when multiple fees apply at once, the overall cost can feel significant, which is why we aim to clearly display fees both before checkout and within revenue reporting.

We also invest heavily in marketing and growth initiatives to help connect Pros with new clients, and tools within our Marketing Suite provide visibility into new client acquisition and related revenue. If a client is ever incorrectly marked as new, we’re happy to review and correct it.

Regarding same-day payouts, transfers are typically completed within minutes after initiation, though timing can occasionally vary depending on banking and processing timelines.

If I could I would give a 0

If I could I would give a 0. I find a stylist and made my appointment paid my $40 deposit. A few hours later the stylist text me telling me that she is out of town and will be just getting back in town that day. Stylist state that she don't understand why that day was open. I don't know if it is the stylist or style seat problem. This but me in a bad spot no deposit and no one to do my hair. Will I am going out of town myself and trying to get my hair done before I go. So, the date I chose is the date I have available to get my hair done. The date that was suggested for me to reschedule to is the day I will be out of town. Now I am stuck with no appointment and out of $40. The stylist said she will refund me but that will take 5 to 10 days. To schedule another appointment I need my deposit. This is not the first time I have had a problem with style seat.
About 3 mounts ago I schedule appointment. The stylist was 20 minutes late. I am call and text her asking where she at. After about 3 calls and texts later. She answer saying she is on her way and that she was not aware of my appointment. WOW
With that being said. I will not be scheduling or choosing any more appointments or stylist on Style seat.

Styleseat is very deceptive

Styleseat is very deceptive. An advertised $50 price actually charges your card $72. They list one price, but when you select it, it very briefly flashes a 20% increase before taking you to Payment. The new total is not listed or visible anywhere. Then it adds an additional 20% tip. That's a total of a 44% upcharge for their service.

If your appointment was booked during a peak time, the adjusted rate and reason would have been shown before you confirmed.

For this appointment, a 20% tip was added by default. After the service, you receive a tip confirmation via SMS where you can adjust or skip it.

I would like to be able to add more than one payment method for instant payouts, and be able to receive any payout amount, other than up to $50. Please, stop taking new clients fees over and over when a client has booked before, or prefer to have me book them. We pay a monthly fee for a reason.

They quoted me $75 for a blowout at a…

They quoted me $75 for a blowout at a particular salon nearby. I then made the appointment (24 hrs so no cancellation possibility) and then it shot up to $108!! Including the tip. I don't tip owners of salons (and in this case she is the owner). So....yeah no.

No consumer protection, stay away!

Pro-tip, find the stylist using their app, message, then do everything off the app. Some stylists scam and steal and their platform offers no protections for consumers. A stylist didn't communicate her address before the appointment. I was still charged full price and 40 emails later still not conclusion except a return of half my money.

Update, received this reply, and after emailing them they havent responded. They also still have not returned my money.

I used styleseat for years

I used styleseat for years. HOWEVER, the site has several unexpected fees and poor customer service which I eventually closed my account. I like my style seat stylist but I was paying too much for unexpected fees that it outweight her work. The site would be much better if they got rid of all the extra fees.
