An Unforgettable Swim Holiday with Strel Swimming.

In June, myself and 12 friends went on the most incredible private swim holiday with Stel Swimming in Montenegro, and I honestly can’t recommend the experience highly enough.

From start to finish, everything was seamless and so well organised. Right from the initial enquiry, Borut was fantastic to deal with, responsive, helpful, and really flexible in helping us choose the right dates and itinerary for our group.

The swims themselves were absolutely stunning. Over the five-day trip, we swam an average of 2 to 2.5 km morning and afternoon, exploring the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Kotor, through caves, along dramatic cliffs, and into crystal-clear waters. Each swim felt different and special, and the entire group felt completely safe and supported at all times.

A huge thank you to our amazing swim guide Sarah and our captain Mario & team, who were both so professional, kind, and attentive. They made sure we were comfortable, confident, and got the absolute most out of every swim.

We based ourselves in Tivat, which was a brilliant location, a gorgeous town with a really central and stylish hotel that worked perfectly for our group.

The whole experience was just first class, from the organisation to the location, the support on the water, and the overall atmosphere created by the Strel team. It was such a positive and memorable trip that we’re already in the process of booking our next private swim holiday with them to Symi, Greece in 2027, and we genuinely can’t wait!

Just finished my first swimtour holiday in Symi, guided by Aoife and Toby. I loved it! Stunning blues of varying shades in the water, which was also a great temperature. Incredible relief underwater with caves, deep ravines, gentle shelves and drop away cliffs. Not too many fish to be seen but here and there we saw some. Professional guidance, good information and terrific en encouragement from our guides which made it easy to conquer personal fears and stretch myself physically. Lunch on the boat is my personal preference but the tavernas we ate at were all fab also. Symi is beautiful and quiet, very hot, and a place where relaxing is not hard. We were a great team of seven swimmers from various countries and we got along well enough to dine together in the evenings also. Good hotel right on the beach.

As a first-timer to any swim holiday, I could not have asked for a better introduction with the swim adventure in Montenegro. The waters and landscapes were stunning. The guides, Borut and Sarah, were both knowledgeable and super fun! The hotel and its breakfast top marks! + the group of swim enthusiasts from all over the world, with whom I got to spend some amazing days, was just brilliant. (In a group of 13 we managed to get 7 different nationalities!)
Overall, an amazing swim trip! Thanks Strel SAH!

Having just completed my very first ocean swimming experience , I cannot fault the Strel guides Aoife and Toby who made our week absolutely wonderful . Everything was explained carefully and professionally and we were guided around the island in a fun and enjoyable way . It was fantastic ! Perfect water temperature and incredible scenery along the way ! The lunch breaks at beautiful Tavernas were a highlight . Lunch on board was a welcome surprise each time too .

I completed my second swim holiday with Strel this month. I had heard so many good things from others about the Symi Trip and so glad I did it. The beauty of the area and amazing swims are beyond words. Our guides, Aiofe and Toby were incredible. So kind and helpful. As I was the junior swimmer, they were very encouraging.
There’s no doubt I will complete another swim holiday again in the future with Strel.

Just finished my second Strel Swimming Holiday in Symi, last year a group the Strel Kas Turkey trip … what amazing experiences! Loved every part of it, the guides are lovely, patient and extremely knowledgeable … huge thanks to Aoife & Toby for making our large South African group feel so at home! Truly got to relax and enjoy what Greece 🇬🇷 waters had to offer. I will be back for my next trip next year ✌️

Just recently completed the Montenegro coast and fjord swim. I had never been on a swim trip before but this was amazing. Great swims. Everything explained really well and the scenery and general knowledge and information from both Borut and Sarah was fantastic. The whole trip felt well run and professional and we were all made to feel welcome. It was a very special experience and I look forward to being able to book another trip with Strel Swimming Adventures

This was our first, but definitely not our last swimming holiday with Strel. Wonderful swims in the fjord and the open sea, sightseeing in beautiful villages or on islands or short hikes in between the swims and boat rides - this combination plus our incredible swim guides made our trip unforgettable. Sarah and Borut made sure that we always felt safe and were very well looked after. In addition to that, they are also very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of the area or useful tips about open-water swimming. Our group of 11 swimmers from three different countries also got along immediately so that we had lots of fun. The hotel was also perfect and served fantastic breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our adventure and would definitely recommend this holiday to everyone who loves long swims in the sea.

This is my 2nd Strel swim with Strel Swimming with Aiofa and Toby as our swim guides. I just love them both, they explain things so easily, if you are scared they motivate us and make room for the slow swimmer (like me). The swim trips are not stressful at all. We had the best Boat Captain Pavlo. Ill be back for Turkey next year

We've enjoyed every second of our swim in Montenegro. Borut and Sarah were absolutely great guides and Mario and Stefano, the best boat crew ever. Perfect organisation, stunning landscapes, hotel 100% recommended (ahhh, those brekfasts 😋)... All in all, amazing experience. Thanks, Borut and team!!!

Such a cool trip, amazing sights, stunning scenery and a great group of people to swim with. Borut and Sarah did a great job as our guides, v knowledgeable and they joined in with the fun of the week whilst maintaining their professionalism. Montenegro was a pretty country and the swims with a little walking made for a perfect week. This is my 3rd trip with Strel and I'm sure I'll be back.

Wat een fantastische vakantie!!! Elke dag op de meest idyllische plekjes gezwommen en gegeten! Ook al ben je niet de beste zwemmer en twijfel je of je wel snel of sterk genoeg bent… Coach Toby en Aoife hebben een geweldig systeem om het voor iedereen fenomenaal te maken. Juist goed, volgens je eigen kunnen en toch in groep. Niet twijfelen er wordt echt voor je gezorgd 😊

A group of seven of us had our fist swim holiday with Strel to Loreto, Mexico.
The guides Borut and Ramses were fabulous, the captain Rafa and deck mate Lenny were knowledgeable, skilled and really fun to be around. Five stars to Lenny’s mom for the homemade lunches we ate each day on remote beaches.
The sea life was abundant with humpback whales, dolphins, all sorts of fish, and even phytoplankton that glowed under us like sapphires.
Stunningly beautiful, our first “swim safari” was worth every penny and has really lit a spark to continue exploring other Strel holidays.

We recently returned from our swim trip to Loreto, Mexico and I can’t say enough good things. Besides the swimming, we saw humpback whales everyday while on the boat to our swim destination, had dolphins swim by and the beautiful clear water was amazing so we could watch the beautiful marine life we swam over each day.

Lunches provided by the tour were amazing and our swim guides, Borut and Ramses were top notch. Rafa and Lenny, who were on the boat, were equally great!

This was a great way to celebrate my 50th birthday year and we are now looking ahead for our next adventure with Strel Swimming.

An amazing, wordefull, fantastic swimming holiday with Strel Swimming Adventures in Bozburun Turkey. Everything about the trip was absolutely great:
a. The beautiful clear turquoise water and swimming courses.
b. The perfect and comfortable boat that was taking us to the various swimming locations every day.
c. The fantastic food on the boat, extremely fresh, light, and at the right time. Great fresh fish in large portions and local cuisine.
d. The friendliness of the staff of the hotel. Perfect hotel location with perfect breakfast and the best room.
e. The knowledgeable and professional two swim guides Steve and Diane. We felt safe and motivated the whole time.
f. The picturesque Bozburun village.
g. The international and friendly group of fellow swimmers from all over the world. We became one company!
h. The well planned timetable of each day including the swims and plenty of time to rest and relax in between.

From the first moments to the breakfast on the last morning 🌄 I felt so included. Everyone was so friendly and Jo and Steve were so welcoming. It was very very well organised like a well oiled machine.
All abilities were looked after. Encouraging, supporting and a bit of coaching. The crew on the boat were wonderful as was the food.
I have never been on a swimming holiday and I am looking forward to another one next year. Oh and a thank you to Borut for telling me about Strel. An amazing experience.

I went on the Turkey gulet swim trek with a group of friends at the end of September '24. We lived on the boat from Saturday - Saturday. It was absolutely fantastic. The boat and accommodation were beautiful, the crew friendly and helpful and both swim guides knowledgeable and skilled.
The sea was a bit choppy on the first morning but the captain very quickly took us to calmer waters. The clear, turquoise, warm Mediterranean sea was a real pleasure to swim in the rest of the week. We were lucky enough to see sea turtles too. We had chance to visit some of the islands and coast along the way- with a magical trip back to the boat after an evening meal on land one night. I really can't fault this holiday. Thank you!

We've had four excellent Strel holidays, most recently Symi Island which was wonderful. Toby and Aoife were perfect hosts and guides, and Pedi Hotel is lovely and a great location. Excellent swims each day and such fun fellow swimmers. We'll be back.
