I'm very sad, disappointed at the same time, tried Login in on online and requested for my password and it kept on giving me my username.
I've also sent an email for assistance and a call log but no progress up to this time.

couldn't even register, the system is a mass error here and there it's more like the app doesn't even assists and it's so ridiculous because time is waisted and yet the app is meant to save time .

Worst customer service in Frankfort Freestate branch. They rather chat to their collegues than helping their customers! No smse send. Appaling clients. Lazy, idle workers. I will close my account at Standard bank!!!!!

This is one hell, unprofessional bank they will never help you with anything just waiting a time to scam you..i reported my account last week till today everyone lies no one wants to help me

Try cancelling your bond with Standard Bank and see what happens, they do not even know the correct procedure or respect the conveyancer.

Standard bank is taking us for a ride, they are earning interest on my money first before releasing it. The worst part is that they charged me from my account the inward fee but still held the money for their interest gain. On Friday the 15th November I sent money from foreign account to my standard bank account, within 5 minutes I was charged for inward transfer by standard bank but the transferred money is not reflecting. So they are charging me on my account taking the money I was supposed to use for something but still held on the foreign transfer amount. Today is Monday the 18th still the money is still not reflecting.
This is bullying at its most.

recently had a call out for a geyser, contractors sent onsite destroyed my floors which bank covered. all has been done. pictures and docs provided.
its months later. a geyser has burst, they are holding back my current claim for pics of previous floor. on asking them to get their contractors to proceed, x3 different contractors will suddenly pitch up at your home if nobody is there. all different times. now no answers , no replies. willing to get them to literally comet to my home to view whatever needed. no joy. stuck with a destroyed ceiling ,floors and cupboards.

What a very horrible experience,I waited for more than an hour to be assisted to fill in a form from my employer, consultants are just chit charting right in front of our eyes,how come there are two consultants on one table,one laptop and assisting only one client while there is a lot of us waiting for our turn. This is really unexceptable,I asked for a maximum of thirty minutes from work, it seems like next time I must come with a lunch box to come camp here the whole day for me to get my turn to be assisted.

It is nightmare to deal with standard bank insurance.
They will finish you air time and give you pressure,will ask you stupid question like postal code ,we all now that postal service does not exist in SA. Called 3 times this morning the called get disconnected.
Previous I sent an email with no response. They take a long time before the answer the call.

Will there ever be service from Standard Bank? I waited for an hour each at Standard Bank The Glen and then the branch at New Market as well. NO SERVICE AT ALL. They just do not seem to care about their customers. Yet they want your money. Everybody was complaining, but it did not help at all

Vehicle asset team useless. Been with them for over 10 years yet they treat you like another number in the queue. I’ve moved over to bmw finance and will never use standard bank again. Lost out on 2 deals because they either too slow or they don’t give a crap. I’ve also had people I know move their banking away from this useless bank. I will also be moving my banking elsewhere. 1 star is the minimum I can rate but I’d actually rate them minus 10.

Technology stuck in the dark ages. Their online customer service is useless without the authority to do anything. You always have to visit the bank or call.

No query has been resolved ever since i opened my standard bank account you guys have been charging me honouring fees again and again . It feels like paying twice for the same transaction .Please remove this pathetic and stupid system for the bank to gain money where else customers are suffering .

Standard Bank have been sending me FICA review reminders for the last several weeks - so I tried to contact my so called Business Banker to find out what FICA information they require - Didn’t even answer the phone for 44 mins - so I drove to Rosebank’s so called customer care center - asked to speak a Business Bank - “uh he is not in today” is the response I get. I say - well where can I find a Business Banker in Johannesburg - they say “maybe Sandton” I say please phone Sandton to perhaps give more confidence than a “maybe”. Somebody wafts into the conversation - zero introduction as to their status - and states “nah - there is re-structuring going on at Sandton so there is limited capacity there” I say all I need to know is what the Business Banking requirements for FICA - can the mythical “someone” please tell me. There is some whispering discussion and they hand write the very same Business Banking number I called earlier in the day that was not answered. This Bank does NOT deserve any custom - we as the customers must make a concerted effort to move to FNB and only then will they understand how incompetent and uncustomer friendly they have become - I moved my private bank accounts last year after 33 years - It was the happiest day of my banking life.

Wouldn’t even give one star. My card is about to expire. I tried to apply for a new one, and my application has magically disappeared. So Standard Bank offers me an account upgrade, constantly popping up on my app. I’ve applied twice. Was told someone was going to help me and weeks later still no word, only to get told my application has expired and I must apply again, because no one BOTHERED to contact me. Honestly a useless bank!

I am deeply disappointed with the service I received from this "bank". Claiming to be a trusted provider is laughable at best. My account was blocked without any clear reason, and despite completing all required verifications, I was ultimately told that they couldn't assist me and that I had to visit a branch. It feels like they expect their clients to cater to their inconvenient and unreliable system, disregarding the time and effort of their customers. I strongly advise anyone considering using Standard Bank to think twice before entrusting their hard-earned money to them. My experience suggests they do not take their customers' wellbeing seriously.

I received a VERY VERY poor service at Standard Bank Funeral Insurance. Having to wait 18mins on the line and after getting through to an agent I was transferred to 5 difference departments. No one knows and I ended up dropping the line due to frustration. I an cancelling all my policies with them I can never recommend this Bank to anyone. Very incompetent consultants.

The waiting is too long

The waiting at standard in northern cape kimberley in Jones str is plus 3hours. Only two people are assisting the bank is full , people a leaving without being assisted because of waiting long. It's a bad idea to come at lunch time. 😕

It is the worst insurance in the world. I was on it for 2.5 yrs. The premium were ridiculously expensive from the beginning, I paid R1133.84 but I chose it because friends and family recommended it saying that they give great service and pay out without any hassles.

Their premiums increase excessively each year by more than R400. In 2023 I was lucky to have my premiums reviewed and only increased by R60. In 2024 they increased my premiums by R417.2 to R1611.21.

I have never had any claims for 2.5yrs yet they increased my premiums excessively so I cancelled the insurance on the 15th of August and I am supposed to be covered till the 25th of August.

I needed to submit my proof of insurance to my vehicle financer so I went on their Insurance app and banking app to try retrieve my proof of insurance, however my policy was removed.

When I call them they told me that my policy is non-existent since I cancelled my insurance with them. However, I am still covered till the 25th of August so I asked them to pay me back my premium for the remaining days since they declared my policy non-existent and they refused.

I do not recommend Standard bank insurance to anyone. They are a horrible company that just wants to make money out of people. They are expensive for nothing and they do not care about their customers.

This has got to be the most stupid bank to deal with, I'm out off the country so I need to do international transfers an they have blocked my account, an they have a so called 24 hour fraud line but only opens a 7am
