For goodness sake don't ask a question about coding
Ok for finding an answer sometimes. But for goodness sake don't dare ask anything about coding. I just asked for some advice about a coding issue i had and oh lordy lord i may as well have called the community a bunch of James Hunts. The culture on here is toxic, nobody is interested in providing advice or guidance because i was told that i shouldn't be using Stack Overflow as a personal help desk. WTAF is the point of your actual existance if people have a code issue and they cannot ask a question without being berated or made to feel inferior. I feel its full of people who are more focussed on their own self importance and belittling others than actual being of any value in helping people learning to code or with a code issue. There are plenty of other places that will offer you actual help and guidance avoid this array of morons and choose somewhere else.
The community is horrible
The community is horrible. Instead of actually reading the question, they just downvoted, nitpicked about variable names, nitpicked about using streams to read a text file (which wasn't even important by the way, it was literally just an example to add more code), and then closed the question for not having enough focus. Maybe they meant that the community didn't have enough focus to actually answer the question, I have no idea.
Toxic community
This place is great for finding answers to questions but horrible for asking your own questions.
The community is very toxic. Like I literally posted a question because I was getting errors in some of my code. Someone proceeded to ask "what kind of errors" I was getting. That's not a problematic question except I literally had a screenshot of the errors! So these guys don't even properly read the question and then I get banned because they downvoted my question.
Avoid
Lots of answers are not real answers. For instance, when someone asks a programming question, you expect to read lines of codes in the answer. However, there are many answers where people just get into a debate without giving an answer.
Surprinsigly, these answers with no real answers have many votes while people with real answers (no code) have no votes.
If you are a programmer, share your knowledge on your blog, on github, on medium where you can benefit from it.
Don't let others benefit from your precious knowledge.
Very hard to start.
Very hard to start.
StackOverflow isn't much beginner friendly, It's very hard starting there, you can't perform any actions before having 15 reputation.
Most answers are very good and helpful which I wish I could upvote but I can't, since I don't have 15 reputation yet.
Full of cocky clowns
Full of cocky clowns, the run to post an answer with a short phrase saying they need more details, but don't spend a second reading the question and trying to understand the real problem. Why people downvote something they can't answer? Post it, as clear as you want, unlesse the answer is obvious, only very few people will take time to read.
A really terrible platform
Stackoverflow is a really terrible platform, full of clowns, some basic functionality, like login using github, google not working and in general a really really trash platform. Its really sad that there are no other good alternatives and you are basically stuck using this trash platform.
Full of clowns
Posted a sensible clear question! Downvoted the question without any reason! SO should ask for a reason before someone wants to downvote! Totally unprofessional and illiterates! Full of bullies who are just looking to downvote a question when they cannot answer it.
Just the Best Software Engineering FAQ.
People giving a poor review here don't understand the scientific method approach to engineering. The scientific truth and proper question elaboration is what make this website and this company so great, countless hours of work have been saved by them having a deep impact in the worlds economy from such a small use case
Full of people downvoting everyone
Full of people downvoting everyone, community is very toxic, and unless you have a popular question you get downvoted so bad you end up deleting your question, cannot even leave upvotes on posts until I get enough reputation.

This is a GENERAL Q&A Wiki, NOT A DISCUSSION ROOM / FORUM
This is a GENERAL Q&A Wiki, NOT A DISCUSSION ROOM / FORUM. The question should be clear and easy to answer so that the "EXPERT" can answer your question to get the "reputation". DO NOT POST ANY PROBLEM about YOUR SPECIAL CASE. They DO NOT ACCEPT it and you get DOWNVOTE as they cannot answer it.

I didn't imagine finding Stackoverflow on Trustpilot.. I think it is one of the few websites I visit more times during the day..
Great site when you need help.
Great site, helped me so many times while learning. Yes, moderation sometimes is rough, but you just should be kind, and everyone else will be kind too! People answer really quickly, and I really like that.
Can't interact with the articles
Can't seem to comment, vote or interact and feedback to articles. Looks like this is just for a select pool of people. Utter rubbish. I use other sites now for help and advice as this one is 10 years out of date.

Always get treated as an outsider unless you are "in"
Mostly Snobs and Bullies
Mostly Snobs and Bullies. The majority of moderators and Admins are just arrogant and tend to oppress your questions if they are unsatisfied with your technique.
They tend to bully their opinions and NOT actually help newcomers. It felt like a closed community that is not welcoming.
There are some good people that do help, but that's far and few between. I have questions that get down voted (yes they vote, lol), and then I'm treated poorly and never get any help at all!
I tend not to ask question any more since they made it clear I'm not welcomed.
The service runs on badges, Points and Voting. Weird for a resource site.
This service is for bullies and passive-aggressive people hiding behind their keyboards like digital tough guys.
Would highly recommend
A great site that is very helpful for people with specific programming problems. I have been helped countlessly by the vast collection of already-answered questions, so much even that I haven't needed to ask my own questions.
