I never had a issue with Stack Overflow. I use them very often and sometimes I ask questions myself. If you follow the guidelines when asking question and if your question cannot be answered by reading page 2 of "Coding for dummies" then you can expect a proper answer.

This website is very unwelcoming for new coders. Especially for self taught new coders. I will avoid using this website in the future. I asked my very first question. I was received poorly by some code bro with a profile that says -beer drinker- as a description. somehow this a$$ hole has the power to close questions on his own with 0 checks and balances, this resulted in me being unable to ask questions for the rest of day. effectively my time has been wasted and I feel very unwelcomed by this website if you are looking for help and your new this website is a HARD PASS DON'T USE IT.

This StackOverflow is a really bad forum. They drop the moral of the askers. This forum must be ban for such practice of business. Harassment and time-wasting will get from this. Please never go for this forum. Raise the voice against this forum. Why this forum is there I don't get an answer. Many coders are there for reputation numbers only not for help. They can't understand the real problem. Amazing! I will soon write a details review on this forum. Please nver go there. If your real social worker then we can make forum where we can resolve the issue free.

Without a doubt one of the best sites in the world. However, the mods in this site or site moderators are giant d***s. If you are new to codding you will find more harsher people than friendly ones, like 8:2

Just ask the question (properly) and don't mind the douches.

Edit: I almost forgot the admins can and will remove your answer (the reason can be debatable for this) and your comment without any notification.

I have so many comments removed because some guy didn't like them.

Pretty much the best site to get technical information for programming, development, computer science, etc... Stack Overflow is part of a network (Stack Exchange) that provides Q&A forums for a vast array of topics and subjects from DIY home improvement, through puzzles and riddles, to computer graphics all the way to learning english. Highly recommended.

As for me it was very very helpfull that I can't even imagine why people call it bitchy or toxic, I have asked simple and not that so programing issues here and have always got tremendous help everytime, I repeat - everytime anyway. Thanks.

Unhelpful, aggressive and bitchy community. Avoid if you're new to coding, you'll get absolutely slated. Highly toxic.

It is the worst site on the Internet. Full of self-righteous, sophomoric types.
Do not waste your valuable time there.

Hostile environment for new posters. Quick to judge people negatively and disable posts without providing adequate feedback.

Good resource and often useful, but I'm discouraged from posting again.

Ho chiesto un aiuto per Beneficenza, Bimbi Ciechi, mi hanno risposto che se non fai le domande come dicono loro, non ti aiuteranno MAI; Troppe regole, troppe chiacchieree pochi fatti; troppi ragazzini a gestire una community, troppi anziani che pensano di essere GURU, troppo nulla.
Una delusione, mi auguro che a nessuno di loro possa capitare ciò per cui avevo chiesto aiuto.

Typical scenario on stackoverflow:
you answer a question correctly, another person answers it slightly wrong, after 1 minute seeing yours works he edits his answer doing a copy paste from yours, and then even downvotes your answer and another one below.

Not even good if you try to help other people out.

When trying to post a question admins edit everything and than community dislikes your answers.
The community isn't really friendly and can't help you there. I recommend original forums.

Stack Overflow claim to have a very stringent policy against online bullying, but they ignored my request for information about it and requests for escalation of my complaint by a senior manager. This is not acceptable for a company that claims to have >$100 million revenue.

I find Stack Overflow very useful, but recently it seems to have been taken over by a small number of users who specialise in making nasty comments or just closing down people without any explanation. I agree with others here who complain that it is no longer a very pleasant community. That's a great shame. Hopefully, the guys who have made billions from the company will read this posting and do something to change the culture. Having a proper policy and process to tackle bullying would be a good start. Welcoming women and other minorities would be another. It's time to grow-up boys!
