From the very beginning, Spark have been so patient and informative about the process and answering my many questions! In just a couple of months, my son has gone from not wanting to engage in any type of revision or focus, to writing pages of work and actually being motivated in a subject he really struggles with. Umair has bought to life my sons GCSE text's and gave a different view point of teaching which has been a game changer. The sessions are well planned, interesting, and humanised. As a parent, I have been able to see the impact this has made. The constant communication is appreciated and Umair has been able to provide feedback on work my son has done outside of his required lessons - invaluable! Excellent tutor, very knowledgeable in subject matter and crucially able to a) apply recent experience of exam process to inform sessions and b) engage with teenage student very effectively! It’s been an excellent experience and we have really been able to see the difference in confidence in the maths/science subjects that were causing concern before we signed up for the 8 months of weekly tutoring provided.
The wrap around support has also been very good. All in all it’s been well worth the £50 or so per week investment.

We have two children taking maths tutoring with Spark and have had a wonderful experience. My older child (Year 8) loves learning but lacks confidence and her tutor has carefully looked at her errors during tests and her weaker areas to plan to support her improvement. She is so much more confident and able now to tackle maths.
My younger boy (Year 5) is less enthusiastic about learning (to say the least!) but loves his tutoring sessions! This has been magical for us to see. He tells us his sessions are ‘so fun’ and he looks forward to each one due to the mixture of teaching and fun games provided for him by his tutor.
Most of all, I’m so impressed by the care and attention of each tutor to get to know each of them so well and build such positive relationships. Thank you!

My daughter has been assigned with Evie and I cannot praise her support enough. The confidence my daughter is now showing is incredible. Evie has completely engaged her in sessions.

Spark tutoring did a great job of matching our 8 year old daughter with Shenae, who has been an absolutely brilliant tutor.

For the first time our daughters progress report in maths has moved from 'good' effort to 'ecellent' and this is largely due to the tutoring she has received from Shenae.

Her overall confidence in maths has also increased and she looks forward to her lessons with Shenae.

The overall experience with Spark Tutoring has been a very positive one. My daughter has received a brilliantly in depth and high quality support and teaching from her tutor.

I must say that initially, the tutor that was assigned to my daughter did not deliver the efficient and reliable support that we expected therefore we asked for a different tutor and they were great and quick at swapping and allocating a better tutor who thankfully turned out to be very capable, knowledgeable and reliable. I highly recommend this company. When you start off with them just keep communicating with them and if not happy with the first match don’t hesitate to ask for a different tutor as they are flexible and helpful.

My daughter has been having tutoring with Vithush he has really helped with bringing her confidence up in maths and taken time to go through and explains stuff to her that she didn’t understand. I would recommended Sparks to anyone looking to give there child a boost with there exams.

Our tutor, Shreya, has been absolutely amazing. She’s been incredibly accommodating and flexible whenever needed, which has made a real difference for our family. Halfway through, with advice from our son’s teachers, we realised it would be better to switch focus from English to Maths. Spark Tutoring handled this change quickly and efficiently, making the whole process seamless and stress-free.

They’re always quick to respond to any queries, which is really reassuring.

The support has been excellent and most importantly, we’ve seen a huge boost in our child’s confidence :)

His tutor really takes the time to listen and understand him, which has made such a difference. Sessions are now something he genuinely enjoys rather than a chore.

We also reached out for additional support in a couple of subjects ahead of GCSEs, and despite it being such a busy time of year, the team made it happen.

DO NOT USE! It was truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. After the initial conversation it took two weeks to find a tutor, despite finding out that they had a bank of tutors they can use. It did not take them that long to collect the initial payment. Once a tutor was found initially meetings were set up, one happened on schedule and one did not the tutor was unreliable and abroad (despite the company having two weeks to find this out). I had asked for two tutors just to give my child a pre GCSE boost one tutor in History and one tutor for English Language and Literature. I then asked for another tutor in a what’s app message, with the person who I had had the initial meeting with, in that message I had asked a question about finance, she answered that question but did not answer the question about a new tutor. A couple of days later I got a message from an operations person telling me that they were going to sort it out. I impressed upon them how urgent it was as the clock was ticking on my child’s GCSE’s. After a week of messaging her and the original contact. I was told twice that my option was that I could use the unreliable tutor or wait another two weeks for them to find a new tutor, taking the total time to 5 weeks from my initial meeting to us potentially getting a tutor. When I expressed my frustration at this I then had a message from operations telling me that I had never given them permission to get another tutor. I asked 3 times for them to call me, they just didn’t answer my message so refused to action it. Then I was contacted by customer experience! They sent a message to arrange a call, you can not just call or be called by this company you have to schedule the call, it is the most laborious system I have ever used just to set up some tutoring for my child. While all of this going on two things are happening in the background. I am being repeatedly chased for money for tutoring I hadn’t even gotten a tutor for and most importantly in all of this was my child’s reaction. My child was getting more and more anxious about not having the sessions for English, this was causing huge panic and distraction with other subjects. There were so many tears about failing a both language and literature, which is what the tutoring was in. Whilst I understand that exam jitters happen for every child about to do their GCSE’s the whole point of tutoring is to give them a boost of confidence and help reduce the anxiety. This company has done the exact opposite. I now have other tutors in place but have wasted 3 weeks of valuable revision time for my child. When I asked customer support why it took so long for them to find a tutor from a bank of tutors they already had her answer was ‘ we match the tutor to personality of your child’. They have never met my child and I was asked 3 questions about her, so I am at a loss as to how it was going to take 3 weeks to match a tutor to the personality of a child that you have never met and no almost nothing about. I was offered 2 free sessions to make up for the lost time, but unfortunately you cannot make up for the anxiety, upset and loss of focus on other subjects, the customer experience person admitted that they had dropped the ball on this and that the way we had been treated was unacceptable. I have read the companies response to another 1 star review, which included the reminder that the majority of people are having a great experience. Unfortunately if you base your company on the majority reviews and minimise the minority, you will very quickly find that the minority is now your majority. Do not underestimate the power of word of mouth. Friends that I suggest you to, have now looked elsewhere and found other tutors that they have not had to wait 3 weeks for and have not had had to put their child through an anxious time that was totally unnecessary at a time when they need it the least. DO NOT USE this company.

Very easy to set up.
Good messaging through the app and always got a very quick response via WhatsApp.
The sessions were paced appropriately and the tutor adapted well to my daughter’s learning speed.
Very flexible when we had to reschedule a session too.
Would recommend.

The team was very responsive to our requests and my son enjoyed the lessons from the tutors, who were very engaging. What I would have liked to see was an actual log of the lessons received so we know how many lessons were actually given.

My daughter’s tutor was so lovely, she could really relate to her and she was incredibly supportive. After just a short time my daughter has gone up 2 grades, her confidence has increased and she feels much more positive towards her upcoming exams.

My son is 9, he has adhd so struggles in school especially with his English. I was worried how he’d find the tutoring with sparks as he can lose concentration so easily but they’ve been fantastic. He’s allowed movement breaks and in the two sessions he’s had, he’s very excited about what he’s learning. I really feel this is the beginning of a wonderful journey for him. The communication has been excellent, I’ve already got a detailed report about his understanding with creative writing. Just a fantastic service!

Absolutely awful! Completely avoid them. They take money very quickly and extremely poor in ever communicating with you again. Still waiting for a session after paying weeks ago.

Very pushy sales from the start, with a AI bot that will hound you. I had my introduction call with Jordyn (see you tube) to explain my daughters educational and home schooling position, very positive. But from that point, it's been awful. My induction session was not held on the agree time, and there remains a complete mix up between what my support requirements are, what the tutor believes, and what the Ops Team are managing. In trying to resolve and get alignment, the Tutor and Ops Team won't engage direct, which is frustrating. I have no learning syllabus, no indication of how the educational content Spark intends relates to equivalent school years. Meeting invites are dropped last minute, typically 9.30pm the night before without warning. I've had to draw a line under this poor system of organisation, and was directed towards customer support. I selected a call, 12.30 GMT, and got sent a meeting request for a completely different time, and time zone.
Things may change, but I have been a paying customer since February and had nothing but the run around, and lack of coherence across the Spark Team, not ideal when I am trying to protect my Daughters anxieties around Education ahead of her GCSE's.
