My son has just started weekly sessions with Tahmid in Maths and Science. The onboarding process was smooth and everything clearly explained. My son has found the first couple of sessions super helpful and he's worked out a couple of things he was always getting wrong previously in algebra and not understanding why. One to one support is so valuable. Thank you! 😊

We’ve had a fantastic experience with Spark Tutoring. We were matched with an excellent tutor, Jake, who has been supporting our son in computer science. Jake has a fantastic teaching style – he even managed to get our son engaged after being adamant he didn’t need a tutor!

His techniques are brilliant for keeping a teenage boy on track, and the sessions have really boosted both confidence and interest in the subject. In fact, our son has now said he may even choose computer science as one of his options – something we’d never have expected before starting tutoring.

Highly recommend Spark Tutoring, and especially Jake, for anyone looking for a tutor who can connect, motivate, and inspire.

Spark tutoring has been amazing for my daughter who is studying mathematics at A level. Her tutor takes her time to explain in detail and will help her with anything she is struggling with.

Fantastic experience with Sparks Tutoring! We only found out about them for the last 2 terms of year 11 and our Daughter managed to go from a predicted 7/7 in science to a 9/8.
The tutors are great, young and relatable but with the necessary skills and knowledge - can’t recommend them enough!

In my experience not suitable for students doing formal exams such as A-level or GCSE students, as they don’t do anything to help them prepare.
Although, my child liked the tutor it was a huge waste of money and time. They didn’t even remember my daughter had a mock exam, let alone formulate a plan to help her prepare for it. No homework was set, no past papers were worked through or reviewed, no revision strategies put in place. The tutor was a student who turned up for an hour & explained some of the content, I was quite shocked by the lack of support in comparison to other tutors. My child would have gained more knowledge if she had watched on-line videos on her own. I also only had feedback after a lesson once, because I complained.
If your child is younger and struggling to understand some concepts and won’t watch on live videos on their own then this approach might work for them. However, if they are preparing for GCSES or A-levels don’t take the risk. It will waste their time which is precious for them and your money.
Unfortunately, their system asks you to book a month in advance after the trial lesson, but Sparks did at least waiver our notice period after we explained our experience and reason for cancelling.

Spark Tutoring have been amazing with my daughter who is going in to year 11. They matched her perfectly with a lovely tutor Jo, who is patient, kind and understanding and perfect for my daughter.
My daughter’s grades in maths have gone up two, and we are now aiming to go up two more before her GCSE this year.

We engaged Spark after hearing about it through a friend and started weekly sessions for Geography in mid March of year 13. Sessions were practical and well thought through, tailored to my son's specific needs. Having achieved a C grade in his March A-level mocks, he achieved a B in his actual A-level - and we are delighted with the investment we made!

Our daughter needed some support on maths, sara k was great. She built trust and a connection with our daughter and built her confidence up. Would recomend

My son has been using Spark Tutoring for about 6 weeks now and is already making great progress. He feels much more comfortable asking questions of his tutor than he does in a full classroom and we can already see it's pushing him in the right direction ready for his final GCSE year.

My son is a reluctant learner but has great potential. Following a disappointment end of term report as a family we needed some assistance.
Sparks tutoring has honestly been so rewarding. Firstly the tutors themselves are just amazing, they want to connect deeply with my son which fosters trust and engagement my son is excited for his tutor sessions he looks forward to them and even does them when we are on holiday. He is fully immersed and engaged in all the learning and genuinely excited about his progression.

My son has just had his end of year report ge has gone from 2 subjects needing improvement and meet all others. To 4 outstanding and meeting all others with gcse predictions of 6 to 9. What is truly remarkable is that one of the new outstanding was previously marked as needs improvement, with his gcse prediction being 7 to 9. Sparks isn't just about learning a subject its about applying techniques about building confidence and receiving praise. We have had such a positive experience with Spark Tutoring. Lois is amazing! She is really great with our daughter, tailoring it to her areas of weakness. She is enthusiastic and engages our daughter so she really enjoys her sessions. We have taken a break over the summer, which is really helpful, but looking forward to starting again in September. Our daughter has gone from expected and lacking confidence in her maths skills to greater depth in her end of year school report, full marks in her times table test and more importantly has so much more confidence in her ability. Phoebe’s support has had a noticeable impact on my son in a short time. He recently scored 80% in his end of year maths assessment, which was a significant improvement. His confidence has grown, and it’s been great to see him start to believe in his own abilities, which was definitely thanks to Phoebe’s encouragement.

Heidi is such a patient and lovely tutor. We were told our son would struggle in his SATs, but following his tutoring, he managed greater depth in SPAG and reading. Highly recommend and we will continue with Spark through to GCSE’s.

We have been incredibly happy with the tutoring experience from Sparks and have recommended them to friends.
In my son’s case he needed extra support with Physics at the end of Year 9 as he wasn’t getting the most from his school lessons.
At the very beginning Tom really took the time to understand where my son was in terms of academics but also personality and what he specifically needed and would benefit from.
Then we met Fin, my son’s tutor, who not only delivered fantastic tutoring but got on really well with my son. Having a tutor who recently went through GCSES and A levels at an high academic standard and was now at Uni really made a huge difference as it was all so much more relatable. When my son needed a confidence boost in Maths Fin adapted the tutoring in order to do a bit of both - something which my son has really benefitted from. I can confidently say that my son got more from his weekly hour with Fin in Physics than all the Physics periods he took at school in the same week! His first GCSE mock results are just what he wanted - a 7 - and his most recent topic test an 8. Having that extra support for the whole of Year 10 means he’s all set for Year 11 with all the tools he needs to succeed and stay on track.

Really disappointed in spark tutoring services. Their tutor Alice cancelled two GCSE Geography lessons in June, with very short notice.
These last-minute cancellations were extremely frustrating for my son, especially as they occurred just before his last GCSE exam, when continuity and support were essential for his preparation.
It was also disappointing that, despite leaving messages and calling their associate Faye, I never received any response. I had hoped for more reliable communication and support during this critical time.
I have requested full refund of both lessons, which seems completely appropriate, however the team has not addressed my request to date.
They claim that they care about pupils when they actually don't. They just want to take your money. Spark tutoring - Faye, Tobi, Laura and Danre- should not be treating pupils and parents like that especially during GCSEs.

My son is really enjoying his tutor sessions with Tom the tutor. His confidence is up and he’s performing much better at school than before he started with Spark. What’s great is that Tom has such a great rapport with my son, they have fun together and he keeps all the sessions relevant and interesting from an 8 year olds perspective. Tom gets 10/10 from us - so pleased we signed up to use Spark

My children were 7 and 5 when they both started sessions with Spark and it’s been amazing for them in different ways. One needed to be challenged and have a gentle start to 11+ prep and my daughter needed extra support with phonics. Spark have found tutors that are perfectly tailored to their individual needs and it’s been fantastic!

Couldn't be happier with Spark. My daughter has been having support with maths GCSE over the last year and a half, and her supportive and patient tutor has really built her confidence.
