They are ripping off drivers with pathetic warning signs that are so wordy you can’t read them before you have passed them and so close to the restricted sight it’s to late and bang you get a fine (PCN). The council is not fit for purpose and should be disbanded

Southwark Council are listed on our property title as the Freeholder. Could we get them to supply a HIP? No. After 5 months, including following their official complaints process we gave up. It resulted in us having to co-fund an indemnity policy for our buyer against the council. Completely not fit for purpose at any level.

Impossible to manage council tax
Impossible to manage council tax. They email you saying there is a notification on your account, you follow the link and can't see the notification, even after searching through the whole council tax account site. It's really stressful because the notification could be important, and I have no idea what it is.

Southwark Council Bulk Waste Collection - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
Southwark Council, bulk waste 'paid for' collections are not worth paying for as they are never collected - even with the reference number attached.
They are however collected if reported as fly tipping which is bonkers and defeats the purpose of providing the service by the Council ….. Fly tipping is also collected within 24 hours whereas the paid for service needs chasing up multiple times and sits on the pavement for days and days - another demonstration of Council incompetence!
No service
No customer service, the phone is constantly dropped when holding. None of departments speak to each other. Some of the staff do not care and can come across quite rude on the phone.
A LOT wrong with the way they operate
Don’t answer phones. Long response times to emails.
Service charges seem unreasonably high, increasing hugely year on year, with no clear way to challenge or get a meaningful breakdown. This includes being charged £800 per year by the council for building insurance, when the market rate is closer to £300.
Removed recycling bins serving 100s of flats, with no official statement or reason why.
Removed right for me to register visitor vehicles in my jointly owned car park (I’m a leaseholder). Oh yes, without informing me, of course…
Spent literally about six months with scaffolding outside my bedroom window while they were ‘repairing’ leaking roof, only for it to return weeks later.
Can’t log in to their crappy website most of the time to check any information. If you randomly can, the numbers on the bills they send will come up as ‘not recognised’ or similar. Try to reset your password? Email will never arrive (and no it is not in junk mail).
It all seems like a huge shambles. They keep charging me more and more, for less and less.
I know they are a large organisation - but they really don’t seem to care people are unhappy and feel they are being ripped off for overpriced, diminishing, poor services.

If I could give 0 stars I would we have not been able to use our front room in 3 months had to cancel family coming around for Christmas we are confined to our bedroom the front room has a leak and mold I just keep getting told you're get a call back and don't and when I finally do they say they can't get a hold of the contractors I've asked to speak to a supervisor but never will allow me and just going around in circles I've made a stage 1 complaint this is a joke this has been going on since 15th October and still on going it's now December

I wish I could give no stars. This council has seriously got worst in 10 years since I moved in. They are very bad at their job. 99% of Southwark is incompetent.
They recently updated the mysouthwark website with a new layout and making it harder to view your rent.
It's like they are deliberately trying to fail their tenants when they redesigned this site.
They keep making the system harder, now I understood technology a lot more than most people, being skilled in classic Web designing, php, html, java coding.
But whoever made the website for Southwark is an amateur and they don't know people or how hard it can be for them. Especially those who are elderly and got a disability. Southwark has very high reputation for discriminating those people.
If I struggle to use this site, I can garuntee lots of others will so.
Because of this poor website design. I have to "deliberately" put myself in arrears just to get a regular rent reminder from these clowns.

I’ve had to call the police SEVERAL TIMES on a neighbour that lives at 16 LINGFIELD HOUSE , SE1 0RW as they are constantly pounding on the walls, tapping, dragging furniture around at all hours of the night and generally won’t let me rest by CONSTANTLY making noise. This situation is making me ill yet Southwark are receiving to take action against neighbour when I have provided VIDEO evidence of the neighbour purposely dropping hard objects onto their wood floor. Furthermore, the flat has 0 soundproofing which makes living here a living hell. It’s ridiculous that people are being made to pay rent/services charges for such poor living standards & 0 support from Southwark staff when serious issues arise.
