Everything Richard Lenz described happened to me as well. I always go in skeptical with music promoters and yet I fell for this one. I feel like such an idiot. I will never trust anyone with music promotion again.

I want to believe this isn't a scam --
Meg, from SoundHype, reached out to me in early November, following the release of my latest song.
She, personally, took the time to listen to my song, and watch the YouTube video made for it, pointing out references to other content (which were actually the inspirations behind mine).
The team at Soundhype set up an artist landing page for me to collect email signups (which I tested, and it worked) to be used throughout their promotion.
After filling out the campaign form, and listing my genre and comparable artists, Meg personally validated my choices, as she knew some of the listed artists' songs.
Upon payment, she reached out again, letting me know the payment went through, and made sure I was okay with the campaign timeline.
I was told I'd hear back from the team, with reports of the campaign's success sometime around Nov. 22.
It is now December 1st; (I am an artist on AWAL, so I can track things like: TikToks made using my song) there have been no TikToks made — which is supposed to be part of the campaign. My song has not been added to any playlists (outside of ones I personally sought out myself).
I reached out, and haven't heard anything. I checked their website, and it's down, as are all associated links (like my artist landing page). This is a bad sign, BUT, considering the teams' emails are associated with the domain name, it could also explain why I haven't heard back from them.
I really want to like SoundHype — assuming this isn't a scam, I'd come back for future releases LOL. I feel like they've put in too much effort to just take my money and run. I know, when having to manage TikTokers and Spotify playlisters, these things can take longer than expected. A turnaround time of 3 weeks already seemed unlikely -- especially considering they do this for multiple artists. I'm going to continue to be patient, and HOPE their website is a technical mishap, not a scamming mishap, and when/if it comes back online, I'll hear from them.

After a previous review, SoundHype told me as a reply that someone was going to email me. I've never received an email from them, and still haven't received any reply on our own emails + we don't see any change in terms of streams.
The band in question is Martin Sillen, and we would like to get our money back and fully opt out of the promotion pack.
This is a well crafted scam company.
Very convicing website and accolades so easy to have thought this was real, I certainly did. As did some industry professionals I showed them to.
We had contant same day replies from them until payment was made then none after this. 2 weeks of no contact when we were supposed to be going through the different stages of the campaign.
Anyway out campaign was non existent.
After some digging, their website says they are registered in London for payments but have their address in Birmingham UK. They are not registered on company house UK and also their payments come through in dollars. Doesn't really add up.
Pretty messed up scam as who ever is doing it really understands the music industry, almost seem like a former worker or musician themselves. So the fact they are clearly scamming up and coming artists with very little money in the first place is pretty dark.
PLEASE TRUST ME, DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS!
SoundHype are one of the best agencies I've worked with in the industry. It was quick and easy speaking to them and they were very helpful answering questions and giving advice. They did a great job pitching my artist on TikTok and Spotify. They are very considerate of the artist's fanbase numbers and financial position, thus realistic with end results and don't charge a bomb like most marketing/PR companies do. Highly recommend!
Honestly, I love SoundHype. They respond quickly, deliver real results and go above and beyond to help with excellent advice when I need it. It's hard to navigate the music industry as an unsigned artist, but having their team in my corner makes it so much easier :)
