I got a great price for a new composite front door with Sodoors.
I submitted an interest and later that day someone got in touch with me via whatsapp.
Went through requirments and recieved a quote. Then payment options was discussed and lead times. I was told that if I paid the entire cost upfront then they can guarantee fitting by 04th June. So I got sent a link to send payment, which I did.
I then had to ask for recipt and for it to state that it must be fitted by 04th june.
I then tried to arrange some one to come out to survey.
First survey appt missed, then a few days later someone arrived un announced (lucky my wife was in)
I then attempted to book an installation date and was advised the door can not be made until the 05th of june (beyond guaranteed date). They said there was nothing they can do.
I then badgered to get the earliest fitting date and they actually arranged for 01st June PM appt. The 01st came round, my wife had took the afternoon of work, it got to about 3, so I messaged lauren (installation team) of a rough time. About 30 mins later she rang me to inform me that one member of the installation team had called in sick so they couldn't fit us in today. I accepted, then the install got pushed to the next day PM appt.
So my wife took another afternoon of work to wait in. Same detail. Got to about 3, I messaged lauren asking for a rough eta, she then rang me, saying aren't you away this week? I said no, you couldnt do yesterday due to sickness so we are booked in for today. She then tells me that the door is not scheduled to be delivered until the 05th. I then asked how that makes any sense, was the install who was meant to be installing yesterday going to turn uo empty handed? I said this is beaming red flags and I was starting to believe that this was a fraudulent company. I explained they have one last change to make an appt, if it dosent happen I will be going through my bank to request the money back.
Next appt was booked in for the 08th for 1030. Again, my wife took the day of work to accommodate. 1130 rolled by, no show, I rang lauren and she assured me they was on the way and they will ring me when an hour out. Time kept on passing, then eventually at 1715 they arrived. The installers appologised for being late and started work.
The installers where pleaseant and friendly. They further explained that they wouldnt be able to finish it today and will have to come back in the morning. We said that'd absolutely fine we are just glad its getting done. Abit weird, but i had to lend them my tools as they needed a grinder, and they needed a drill bit to complete the task. I was happy to help to get them done as quick as possible.
We have young kids and a dog so we was hiding in the lounge with the door shut to allow them to get it done without interruptions. We did hear a loud bang but didnt think anything of it. The installers did put a dust sheet down on our flooring. However after they had left, we was on the mission of putting the kids to bed. Around 2030 my wife noticed deep scratches in our laminate flooring, which cannot be polished out as they where deep. With this I took pictures and sent it to lauren.
When the installers got back in the morning, my wife told them about the scratches, and politely asked them to be a bit careful as it is new flooring. The installers did appologise.
Later that day lauren got back to me and said she will got someone to contact me.
Later that afternoon a guy called Tony rang me. I explained my whole experience with so doors, and he gave reasons why it has happened. We then spoke about the damage. And he claimed that he couldnt make out the scratches. He went on to say there is not much he can do. I replied, well you can pay to put the damaged caused right. This is when tonys attitude changed He then went on to say the installers said it wasent them and it must of been there before they arrived, I then replied "well thats utter bull shit" he then told me not to swear at him, I explained it wasent at him it was within the conversation and not towards him. The conversation then turned to, do i have any evidence of them actually doing the damage and I said I have the pictures. He said thats not evidence of them causing the damage. I said why would I lie, he then said we get it all the time. I then said dont tarnish me with the same brush I have no reason to make it up. Its not like im going to record the contractors. He then said my tone was aggressive and he dosent appricate being sworn at, I re explained I said "bull shit" in the context of the conversation, I didnt swear at him. He then said I warned you not to swear so im not speaking to you anymore. He said if I wanted to take it further I need to put it in writing.
Ive never wrote a review but feel people need to be warned about this company.
