£300 Kettle started leaking after a year of use
Bought a copper kettle off these guys. Started leaking after a year. We were told that the only viable solution was to have the kettle repaired with no guarantee at a cost to us. Sir gordon Bennett stated that the manufacturer said there was excessive wear and tear.
It's a family home, has been used exclusively on an aga and was used for no other purpose other than making tea.
Initially, with some encouragement, sir gordon Bennett engaged in conversation about this issue but just predominantly blamed the manufacturer and then latterly us. They have now stopped communicating with us entirely.
As some feedback to Gordon Bennett
1) A kettle that costs £300 should last longer than a year when used for nothing other than making tea.
2) The quality of the goods you sell are your responsibility not your manufacturers. We bought the kettle from you. You have a responsibility to your customers.
3) If the quality of the goods does not match your company ethos it is not then everyone else's problem other than yours.
A total lack of understanding of customer service
Disinterested in standing by the quality of their products
I will never use again
As far as I'm concerned this company joins the ever growing list of anonymous internet companies run by charlatans, that are set up and run to rip customers off
Avoid!
I’d just like to point out to anyone who reads through the response.
They accepted no responsibility for their product being faulty and hid behind having provided other people with satisfactory service and their solution is to return a faulty product.
Ergo, if you have a bad experience with them they won’t care. So let’s hope you’re one of the customers that doesn’t have a problem I suppose?!

Delays and communication could be better
Delayed response to the order. Took a while and some prodding to get updates on delivery, but did eventually get a response and the product turned up.

Stumbled across this website and glad that I did : they stock a great range of British goods and the service is impeccable. I purchased a Yarmouth Oilskins Admiralty shirt which was dispatched the next day. It arrived but was too small, and the return was completed via Sir Gordon Bennet and Yarmouth Oilskins immediately including refunds etc. However (not their fault at all) the replacement size took five days to arrive all down to the shambles that is Royal Mail.
I will be revisiting Sir Gordon Bennet again, - a great trustworthy brand who keep their promises.

Lovely knife BUT!!
Lovely knife, well made. Only criticism is that the documents inside the knife presentation box were for scissors and nothing with reference to the chefs cleaver. Also there was no certificate of authenticity of the 64 layer Damascus used to make the cleaver. All other Damascus bladed knives I’ve purchased before came with a certificate along with the guarantee.

Been over a week with no product and no update from support
Ordered over a week ago and the order is still showing processing. Contacted their support after hearing nothing for a week and I am still waiting for an acknowledgement. The only emails, apart from the order confirmation, has been the 2 asking me for a review lmao, so here it is. Do better.
