Long Wait, But Worth the While (Coast to Coast)
Ship Smart helped me with my last minute coast to coast move. They were extremely flexible on the phone, via email, and the team was willing to help at all steps. They walked me through the insurance and planning, and were honest with their weight and price quotation. All their costs and fees were transparent from beginning to end, and I ended up paying the exact price of my initial quotation + insurance. My move was coast to coast, and with nearly 40 heavy boxes, they arrived with everything accounted for. Even my TV didn't suffer any damage during the long coast to coast journey! If you have a small-medium sized move, I would definitely recommend Ship Smart for your moving needs.

I inherited a nearly 100 year old glass top wroght iron table that needed to be shipped from Washington to California. I had been looking at a few different shipping companies and decided on ShipSmart after speaking with Carly on initial estimates and shipped process. Carly was personable and wonderful and I felt immediately positive about booking with ShipSmart. The process was fantastic, true to estimate, efficient and communicative through the ship. When the table and chairs arrived, I wasn’t expecting the glass top to survive the journey, but the amount of care was apparent in the packing. Glass survived the trip and the rest of the items were packed safely and securely as if the people packing were shipping their own family heirloom. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and service and the price was very fair-no hidden costs-and a little less than I had been expecting. I have had some poor experiences with shipping companies in the past and ShipSmart exceeded my expectations-I am so thrilled! Thank you Carly and thank you ShipSmart!!

Ship Smart cares
So far my experience has been poor. Furniture PU on 5/6 it is now 6/23 and I cannot get a status on when will be delivered (going from Arizona to California!) After 2 calls to customer service last week I was told that they would follow up with me once they heard from the dock where the furniture was - this is the 21st century, how long should it be for them to get a response? After paying over 1900 dollars to has the items shipped, as a customer do I not deserve some follow-up? This company has a good rating, but obviously their customer service people need more training. I am only asking for a status update but cannot get one.
I wrote this review because of my frustration with the communication. However, the day after I wrote this review I was contacted by Trish with an apology and a promise to follow-up on the status of the shipment. Within 24 hours she provided me with the status and the furniture was delivered on 7/2. I appreciated Trishs' follow through....that was all I had wanted in the first place. Thank you Trish for your assistance.

Excellent Communication and Service
I appreciated the high level of communication I received from the Ship Smart Team from beginning to end. At each step, I knew where my order stood. The delivery team even unwrapped and placed my glass tops on my tables for me which I had not expected them to do. Would highly recommend this company for any small moves!

If I could give no stars I would!
If I could give no stars I would!! Two shipments were picked up on May 10th. It is now June 23rd and I have nothing. After long long holds on phone, I was told incorrectly that one had been delivered. FALSE!!! Now I am on hold again!!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!
Well packaged items.
Well packaged items, almost too well in fact. Shipping costs almost exceeded the value of the items shipped. My only criticism. However, the items reached us in the same condition as when they left the house in California. You did what you said you'd do. Couldn't ask for more.

Off to Retirement
I am very impressed with this company. I was under a very short time frame to get my items from one coast to the other and Ship Smart came through. They arrived at my home when promised, reassured me that my items would be crated and packed to insure there was no damage and they actually arrived at the destination a day early! Their quote was very comparable but the service they provided was outstanding. I also had them pack separate (2) sets of china dishes, crystal and silverware for our nephews in FL which without Ship Smart's expertise, these dishes would have been even more damaged upon arrival than they were. I used another company to deliver these cartons and they showed no respect for my items so it was a lesson learned.

I cannot say enough about Ship Smart
I cannot say enough about Ship Smart - they specialize in small moves and were amazingly responsive, came in UNDER the estimate (and admitted it), delivered everything 2 weeks sooner than we expected and everything was in PERFECT condition. They packed the larger items for us (for a fee, of course) and they did a better job than we ever could have done. A desk, TV, computer, 2 computer monitors - all in perfect shape when they arrived as well as all the boxes we packed ourselves.
Moving our daughter home from college from NOLA to Arizona was a piece of cake, thanks to Ship Smart.

Gratefulness!
It all begin when a friend suggested that I contact Ship Smart, Inc, to ship some boxes to Milwaukee, as a result of my Mother's passing in Miami, Florida. The first contact with the Company's representative was so customer friendly, patient and understanding of the enormous task before me.
The representative worked with me for pickup and with the delivery of my shipping once I returned home, All expectations were met, and the price was very reasonable.

Great assistance from staff in managing…
Great assistance from staff in managing abs arranging the move of antique dining furniture from a home in AZ to another in TX. Furniture arrived at final destination after a short stay in storage waiting on truck space/availability. It was delivered into our garage, expertly wrapped, on the shipping pallet, in perfect condition.
Price was very reasonable compared to contracting directly with a moving company. I saved several thousand dollars for this cross state move.
I would recommend Ship Smart to anyone with a flexible schedule who needs to move items.

Confusing Contract, Dishonest Sales Practices
Final price was $1,000 over original estimate they kept raising the price once they had my item, I tried to get my chair back and they said it would cost $661 to return it to me, it took 2-1/2 months to deliver (it was supposed to take 2 weeks), they missed the Christmas deadline, I was given runaround, and in the end, they never performed the service I hired them to perform.
Made initial request on November 24, 2020 to have chair picked up in MA and delivered to CA. Estimate was $795 and they said it would take 2-3 weeks to be delivered.
On 11/25/20, Ship Smart gave me a shipping contract for $1,364, which I accepted. This was the final threshold of what I was willing to pay, and the fact that if jumped from their original estimate of $795 to $1,364 to did sit right with me but I went ahead with it anyway because I wanted to get the chair delivered by Christmas.
The chair was picked up from our house in MA on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
After they had already picked up the chair, and given me an original estimate of $795, and then the new estimate of $1,364, I got an email from on December 4, 2020, saying that my shipment had arrived in California and was packed and ready to be shipped to the destination in CA.
At this point, he told me that the new price (from the original estimate of $795, to the contract price of $1,364) was now $1,718. The final price was $1,000 over where we started, and $400 over the contract price.
At this point, I asked for my chair back and wanted out. They informed me that it would cost me an additional $661 to get my chair back. At this point, I felt 100% powerless. They had my chair, and were demanding a price that was $400 over the contract price, and $1,000 over the original estimate. And they were demanding full payment in order for my chair to be delivered to my in-laws as a gift in time for Christmas.
Because of their response, and my powerlessness, I made full payment ($1,718) on December 7, 2020 and let them know. They had told me that once payment was made the chair would be shipped, this was December 7, 2020.
We never heard back, the receiving party and I were never contacted about delivery. Then, on Monday, December 14, 2020, I sent a follow-up email inquiring about the delivery. It was now getting close to Christmas. (Note: the irony here is that there headquarters is like a mile away from where my in-laws live).
I was told the item was "being delivered to the delivery warehouse today" so the "receiving party should get a call by Wednesday to schedule." I let the receiving party know. And again, we never heard back from Ship Smart, and we were all wondering where the shipment was.
This was followed by a month of radio silence as we were all wondering, and waiting for the chair to be delivered. I emailed my contact at Ship Smart again on 1/4/21 and got an out of office reply.
I then called my customer service contact. We went back and forth several times and I was continuously given the runaround. They were clearly giving me the runaround, and were telling me things that were contradicting what their own warehouse had said, never once taking responsibility for the delay, and giving different stories at different times.
They passed the buck, blamed others, and continued to make excuses over a series of emails and phone calls over the next few weeks/months as I tried to get this chair delivered. I had already paid $1,000 over the original estimate, and now they weren’t even delivering the chair!
Then, in early February (the chair had still not been delivered!) They said that the receiving party had never answered their phone or returned messages. This is simply not true. They knew the number to expect and they were waiting for it, they knew it was coming. Furthermore, if Ship Smart was having trouble getting through to the receiving party, they should have contacted me—the customer, the one who paid the bill. They had my phone number and my email and they never reached out to me at all, ever.
Simply put, Ship Smart never called and never left messages, and tried to blame it on the receiving party. Finally, after all this, I had to jump in, make phone calls, and set up the delivery to finally make sure that the chair got delivered. It was finally delivered on Tuesday, February 9—a full 2 months and 3 weeks after the original contract.
This experience has been costly, stressful and time-consuming. The Ship Smart contract and sales pitch is misleading, confusing and dishonest. I never got my agreed-upon service, and was forced to pay $1,000 over the original estimate, and $400 over the contract price. They held my chair hostage and forced me to pay over what I was willing to pay in order to get the chair delivered. But the bottom line is that they never performed the service that I hired them to perform.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience
Couldn’t be happier with my experience! I was moving to Florida from NY, but Covid really messed up my plans. I worked with a storage place in Florida over the phone and via email while still waiting to leave NY, and ShipSmart delivered my boxes safely to the storage unit while I was still in NY! BTW, kudos to the storage management but that’s a different review!
