Please do NOT use this company
Please do NOT use this company. The company lost all of our boxes (34 total) and has not attempted to offer us any kind of compensation. They do not know where our belongings are and have not contacted us since October of last year (our things were initially picked up on July 27th, 2021).
Here is a summary of our experience:
— Contacted Ship Smart to move studio’s worth of boxes (34), a couch, mattress, chair, and keyboard. We were given an initial estimate. We were also ensured that our belongings would be shipped out and delivered within 4-5 weeks.
— The boxes and furniture were picked up on July 27, 2021. Afterward, we did not receive any communication until we called them on August 16, 2021, to check on our delivery. We were told that they could contact us back at the end of the week to let us know when our belongings would be shipped and that it was not palletized at the time of the call.
— We received no callback and we reached out again that same week only to be given the answer that it would be the next Wednesday (08/25/21) that we would have the final weight and cost.
— The day came and went without a callback, so we reached out again multiple times over the remainder of the week (08/25-27) and kept hearing the same update — that it is not palletized nor ready and we could expect a call back next week.
— Again, silence from Ship Smart for the following week (08/30 - 09/03) except when we initiated the calls. No direct answers, only "let me check with the warehouse and get back to you." We never received a callback once. On 09/10/21, we called once again to try and escalate the situation even more. — A couple of decent days passed with communication (09/13-15), but then no more updates from Ship Smart. We received a communication explaining that our partial shipment (large furniture) was to be delivered the next week on the week of 09/20-24.
— The following week, we received our couch (damaged and missing pieces), office chair, mattress, and a few art pieces on 09/29/21. We called three times between 09/30 - 10/01 but no answer or callback until late 10/01.
— We received a call to say that our stuff might have been shipped with another order (didn’t directly confirm that this was the case).
— They confirmed that they could not find our boxes and that they had discovered they had been lost for a while. We were not once alerted to this fact, even though we had been calling them numerous times.
— We (as of 1/3/22) still have yet to receive our 34 boxes. We have not been contacted by Ship Smart since 10/13/21. Since losing all of our belongings, we have had to spend an immense amount of money rebuilding our home and our lives.
Absolutely no attempt has been made by Ship Smart to right this wrong, or compensate for our loss in any way. This is a shameful business. Please — for yourself and your family — do not use them.
Reliable
Reliable, solid company. This is not an "internet shell" company. ShipSmart is real people, with real resources, who provide door to door services on small shipments. The staff is kind, thorough, and customer-service oriented.

Perfect shipment of antique furniture
Thank you for a successful move of our antique furniture. It's wonderful to work with such a professional company, and you went above and beyond to provide the best service possible. You kept us apprised of the status of our job, were timely, courteous and very professional in pickup and delivery of our items. The delivery and unpacking at the Ohio site was perfect, and everything arrived in perfect condition. We thank each and every employee who assisted with our move.

Do Not Trust - Words Are Not Enough
I am disgusted by how this company treats its customers. Marketing messages boast about the high class and white glove service they provide to top end clients, but normal working humans don't seem to receive the same treatment. None of the shipment was padded or wrapped beyond what we did as they stated it would be and nearly all of it arrived damaged with furniture parts sticking out of box handle holes! There was not a single piece of furniture that arrived intact, even the adjustable bed had its electric cable completely severed and also stuffed into one of the crushed boxes. Shipsmart has refused to take ownership of this mess - we hired them trusting they would take care of our mother's belongings from NC to NM, and they utterly failed with communication throughout, holding items in their warehouse without damaging them (or communicating the damage), and then the lack of follow up after hearing of the mess that happened. Mom’s items looked like they were stacked in a warehouse, that stack crashed over, was picked up, and loaded onto a truck for delivery. Even the delivery man was completely embarrassed as my mom held back tears watching her items unfold broken one after another. Moving accidents happen, and we know that, but when the company refuses to take ownership with it clearly happening within their care (not on the road), pushes any resolve back to the insurance company, and provides an automated template of 'I'm sorry' with no other offer to make all this mess and time lost right, there are plenty of other companies I would suggest putting your trust in first. We ended up hiring a different company, Not a Scratch (jaymovesu at gmail.com) for the remaining 2/3 of her belongings (household furniture/items) which arrived in PERFECT condition, in less time, with amazing communication, and for under the ~$5,500 price paid for a one bedroom move with Shipsmart. Stating care and special service is not enough - ignoring it after it doesn't happen is even worse. This is hands down my most disappointing purchase. One resulting in a ton of money spent to have heirlooms destroyed, time wasted, irreplaceable damage, and all the legwork needed to simply receive an insulting insurance proposal and response from the company. I will remember this company so I can ensure I always recommend never to use them going forward - no one needs more tears shed these days.
Settled my account from damages
After writing the post below, Ship smart settled my cost of repairs that the insurance company would not. Still a lot of emotional sacrifice of my antiques.
I wish I didn't have to give any stars because they don't deserve any. I had several antique furniture pieces(4) that had all their legs broken off and just stuffed in a box handle. Boxes were crushed as were the contents including a stained glass lamp. My adjustable queen bed foundation had the plug severed from the base and the fuse crushed and end brace broken off. The insurance company is trying to cheat me out of the full amount of insured items which still does not cover the cost of repairs or replacements. There are a lot of sentimental pieces that cannot be repaired or replaced due to the abusive handling of my shipment. Do not use this overpriced company that has no intention of caring for your items.

I was referred by 2 well know moving companies , both spoke highly of Ship Smart. During my initial call, Samantha was very pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I received the quote and contract in a timely manner. Anytime I called with questions, I always spoke to a live person, never put on hold and received answers and reassurance to my questions. The 2 gentlemen that picked up my things were so professional
and respectful and handled all my things with great care. The 2 gentlemen that delivered my things also were very professional , respectful and handled my things with great care. Pick up and delivery times were on time, I was notified of schedule and again the day of the scheduled times . The price for the shipping was so reasonable. I saved approximately 5-6,000 dollars that the larger moving companies quoted me. I am so happy I learned about Ship Smart and would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely use them again if needed. Thank you

Ship Smart did a great job from first to last. The pick-up and packing were efficient, the pallets arrived without any damage, and we received considerable help unpacking and placing our items. I am happy to give them the highest recommendation.

Worst shipping experience ever!!
Worst shipping experience ever!!! DO NOT USE!! All boxes were crushed, all furniture was broken, family heirlooms were destroyed. Ship Smart was not interested in helping to resolve this and just told us to file with insurance. No apologies or effort to make this right. They did not ship as advertised. I highly recommend using ANY other company if you value your stuff and time.
Predatory scam
This company will WAY overcharge you for a service that they claim is their specialty. They say that moves that are around 2000 lbs are “right up their” alley, well my move was 3000 total (including their packaging crates/pallets) and they charged me $8000. Not only that, they will never give an exact timeframe for the time your furniture will arrive until it’s actually at their warehouse in the arrival destination. They also contract warehouses with people who are rude and unprofessional, like Danny at All Points Shipping in Denver, CO. I was recommended ship smart by another moving company (All My Sons Moving) and I thought that because they were recommended they would be a good fit. I wish I had just got a U-Haul and did it myself. It would have saved me time, energy, and money. If you think $8000 is a reasonable rate to move your apartment, then go ahead with shipsmart, but if you’re not interested in being scammed look elsewhere. Also, the point of contact who I was assigned, Robert Chance, is unprofessional and disrespectful. When I asked him AND Danny how they would delineate my personal belonging from the furniture of the other customers on the truck (thats right, they showed up with an already half full moving truck filled with a strangers furniture during a global pandemic) neither of them could give me a solid answer. Read my google review about All Points Shipping to learn more about the amateurs they contract to handle your personal belongings. Can’t warn people against this “company” enough, it’s absolutely predatory. I’m beyond disgusted and disappointed in the way Ship Smart handled my order, from start to finish.

Highly Recommend!
So very easy and convenient. I packed my items, they came & picked up the boxes, shrink wrapped them on pallets, and sent them to the new address. Then they delivered and unwrapped the boxes. MUCH easier than renting a truck!

The move that never happened
Thirteen months ago Ship Smart, Inc. picked up items I was sending from VA to CA, in anticipation of a move. Of course, there was COVID, then there were the fires and then there was a change in the decision to move. So, for those thirteen months, my items remained safely in their local warehouse. During this time I had to arrange to pick up several items. The staff was helpful and all was handled professionally. Just this week, 13 months later, I arranged to pick up my stuff from the same place it had been stored, never having moved across the country.
The company representative kept in touch, was helpful, professional and working with him in this stressful situation was a pleasure. We picked up my items without incident. It was a pleasure to work with the Ship Smart, Inc. personnel as well as the personnel at the local warehouse.

0/5 stars - don't trust the sales pitch
When my belongings were picked, was told that a 4-week turn-around wouldn't be a problem. Was told that trucks run regularly between major cities and this was one of their primary value props for smaller shipments.
We are coming up on week 4 of my things "sitting, packed, ready" in a warehouse without any sign of urgency or likelihood that movement is imminent.
I wish I could cancel, but Shipsmart doesn't provide any updates unless I seek them out. It is now too late to organize an alternative solution because of the "work" they have done in the last 3 weeks.

I highly recommend Ship Smart. From the time I called to inquire about their service to the final delivery day, I was so happy with everyone I encountered by phone and in person. I moved from Berkeley Ca. to Brooklyn NY. I moved a new full size bed and 19 boxes. The 2 gentlemen that can for pick up were wonderful. They were so professional and respecful of my things. I felt confident I made the right choice. I was notified of the delivery date, was asked if that day would work for me. They called me that morning to confirm time of arrival. The 2 gentlemen from the New Jersey warehouse were just as wonderful as the pick up staff. My bed and frame came boxed so were well protected. They too were very professional and respectful of my things. I had contacted the office a couple of times to inform them of a few changes from the original estimate and everyone was so helpul and accomodating.
The total cost of the move was so reasonable. I had 2 large moving companies do an in home estimate for this size move and they both recommended
Ship Smart. I saved $6,000.00+ using Ship Smart. They are fantastic and I would definitely call them again as well as recommend to my family and friends.

Worst experience ever.
Had to leave 1 star it should be zero. On 08/04/2021 I was shopping to ship a pilates machine from California to New York. I had one quote from TSI for $1509. I spoke with Carly she was very pleasant & described their service she convinced me it was a superior product, she sent me a quote on 08/05 for $1747. I called back 08/06 spoke I believe with Edward & asked if they price matched. The answer was yes but you have to provide the estimate in order to do this. Sent the estimate from TSI. Carly advised me they wouldn't be able to match the $1509 as they provided a superior product, but could get the price down from the original quote. OK! I say. Carly I'll advise you Monday 08/09. Monday nothing. Call 08/10 Carly not available leave a message with Edward. 08/11. Now I'm chasing them for my business. 😂 No revised quote as promised. I call ask for Carly not available...ok! I need to speak with a supervisor, 15 mins on hold later Kathy shows up. Explain what's going on very pleasant conversation Kathy ask me to give her 24hrs an issue with the warehouse. I agree! 25 hrs later nothing. I call again Andrea answers, ask for Kathy she's not available. Andrea can I help you I explain, Andrea let me see if Kathy's available 13 mins later. Andrea sorry she's not available but she contacted the warehouse & your quote is now $2247. You quote me $1747 you waste my time don't respond when you say you will, tell me you can lower the price don't respond as promised by a supervisor no doubt. I call & you bump the estimate by $500. Sorry I lost it.

I am not pleased with ShipSmart
I am not pleased with ShipSmart. The company forgot to ship one of my palettes, which had my bed and dresser on it. As a result, I've had to sleep on the floor in my apartment, which is absurd and unacceptable. They also damaged one of my items. I will not use this service again, and I don't recommend others to use it.
