Tried this after seeing it on Dragons Den and liked the fact that it’s vegan and cruelty free. Also the ethical aspect appeals to me. Very impressed with both the shampoo and conditioner after just one use. My hair feels lovely and light also the blonde highlights look brighter.

Sadly not for me with naturally thick curly hair that is hi-lighted. Didn’t feel that the conditioner was enough for my hair type, was left feeling like straw and was really difficult to brush. It’s shame because the concept is brilliant.

Selkie is a winner for me, and after seeing it on Dragons Den, I guess the Dragons all agree!
We all have a responsibility to seek out a more sustainable ethical alternative to products we use, and as a daily hair washer, this brand was a no brainer idea for me. It ticks all the boxes of sustainability, ethically sourced natural ingredients that clean and nourish , reduced carbon footprint, reduced water wastage, and fewer plastic bottles in landfill. The shampoo and conditioner clean my hair and leave it feeling and smelling fresh. It gives back natural definition to my wavy hair as it doesn't strip the hair of it's natural oils using sulphates. That was the only compromise for me, is to not feel a lather, but I now know that the lather is a result of adding SLS because we associate bubbles with clean, when actually they strip moisture, irritate, and cause hair loss. I'm not a scientist, I just wanted a solution, I'm happy to find a brand that has done the science bit for me.

Purchased the starter kit and I'm loving how my hair feels and looks. Both the shampoo and conditioner are really helping my damaged hair (blonde and brittle). I'm also so impressed with the brand and what they stand for (natural, no chemicals and eco) so they have a regular customer!

I like others really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I don’t. I have thick shoulder length hair and as the shampoo does not lather find it difficult to know if the shampoo has covered my hair so I end up using large amounts to make sure it has. The conditioner does not smooth or detangle my hair and I find it difficult to get a brush through it.

Sorry but I won’t be buying again 😔

I saw this on Dragons' Den and have loved my first two washes! Will be ordering the refills.

I’m 64 and since my early 50’s I’ve had such a dry scalp. It’s been embarrassing to say the least. I saw Selkie advertised on Dragon’s Den so thought I would give it try.
After the first wash my dry scalp is so much better and the shine on my hair is amazing.
I would definitely recommend this product.

So much wanting to like this, I’ve used it twice & will use the rest of the product & hope somehow my hair adjusts over time. Unlikely to buy more if not. I have long grey hair which this product leaves brittle & flyaway. After use my hair looked presentable only after spending a fair bit of extra time with straighteners & serum.

I really wanted to like this shampoo and conditioner but it really does not seem to suit my hair at all.
I followed the instructions to make it up and use it to the letter because thats just who I am. I could not get it to lather at all. I tried all the hints and tips but nothing worked.
I didnt like it how it left my hair feeling. It felt like there was product still in it but I had rinsed it throughly it felt thick and tacky not soft and bouncy like I expected.
I am left with shampoo and conditioner I cannot use. It would have been useful to have trial sizes as its not inexpensive and I am outside the return period. For reference I have medium length un dyed grey hair. I have gone back to my normal shampoo and my hair is soft bouncy and shiny. I just wanted a more ethical option. I will keep looking.

Absolutely love Selkie and everything they stand for. 💛 It’s so refreshing to find a brand that genuinely seems to care about both creating great products and doing things in a more sustainable way.

I love everything about this brand! My hair has never felt so soft, the ingredients are so good! And the fact they're not using single use plastic makes it even better! Would recommend to anyone, so glad I found this product!

Loved the ideology of the product but my hair has been left like a crisp, so dry and frizzy so won’t be using again.

I’ve waited until 3 uses to write a review. It’s concerning when companies do not respond to negative reviews. My experience is of a product that strips every hint of moisture from your hair leaving a dry, frazzled mess. I’m going to have to use other hair treatments to recover my hair from such a moisture stripping product.

After seeing this on Dragons Den a couple of weeks ago I sat up and thought what a brilliant idea. I may add I was a little dubious after listening to the concerns relating to using tap water for mixing and possibly did over think it a little but thats what I do. 🤔 After I got over it an ordered the starter kit I was delighted with the product and the shampoo has left my hair and my husband's in top top condition. Cleans well but gentle enough without having lots of lather which we don't really need and no tears as my husband has advanced Parkinson's he is unable to do personal care which I do for him and after showering and washing his hair he commented on not having the fear of getting shampoo in his eyes. A winner all round I'd say so much so I have it on subscription and next time will just be the containers with the refills. No bulky bottles every time which I'm all for and less going to landfil. 😊

Only one wash and my hair feels fantastically soft and has more body. Thank you Selkie! Great idea to add our own water...simple, but much easier for sending the product. Would recommend and will buy again.

My hair feels so soft and healthy. i hope you do bigger bottles in the future since i have a lot of thick curly hair so XXL bottle would be even more fabulous.

I love that I dont through away shampoo or conditioner bottles anymore, and also than the environmental impact of transport is minimised as its sent as a power. The smell is really good, its cruelty free, its easy to pause the subscription then restart when you know you ll need more soon. I m a customer for life :)

Selkie has been amazing for my hair. I’m having to wash it way less often and it feels so light and healthy. Highly recommend for travelling too - so easy to transport!

Sustainable hair care that does the job it’s meant to! The condition of my hair improved, less fall and more shine, despite using more expensive hair care before this. Worth a try and you will change your products after!
