So far. so good.
Just opened a savings account with Secure Trust. It was a nice, easy, simple process. It's early days, but the interest rate is competitive, particularly given the fact you don't have to jump through hoops and open a current account to be able to hold a savings account with them. For that, they get my vote, and my money!

GREAT ACCOUNT OFFER
Application questionnaire was easy to complete and the result was extremely quick, no waits for approvals!
The offered interest rate and account conditions suit me very well.

Opening an account was hassle free
Opening an account with Secure Trust Bank was as easy as it can be. Our deposits appeared quickly. At this point in time they offer a very good interest rate on an easy access savings account. Let's see if they maintain that.

I am 72 my hearings not great and I find the whole process of changing to a new account far too complicated.
I will not be going through this nightmare again, I will close my account and transfer to another bank, by comparison I find the Leeds BS excellent.
I simply do not understand that when you have all my details the process cannot be simpler.

Transfer in ISA did not happen
I opened a 1 year fixed ISA & completed a transfer In form from RBS & I checked by phone that I had done this correctly. On the day of maturity I telephoned RBS to just check the transfer was in place, they said they had not received it (after 16 days with Secure Trust), I called STB they said they had mailed me a form which needed my actual signature- this had never arrived. I realised even though they mailed another form, there would not be enough time before my funding window closed. I closed this account. And I see this is a common problem with STB.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with us regarding the ISA transfer process. We understand your frustration with the delays and the unreceived form, especially given the time-sensitive nature of your funding window.
Unfortunately some providers are not on the electronic ISA transfer database and this is why in this cases a manual form was required, as this is the only alternative to request the funds from RBS.
We are sorry to see that you have closed your account based of this. For future reference, we are able to send out another manual form if one is not received the first time and we are also able to still go ahead with transfers if we receive the manual form after the funding window as we understand this is a longer process and can re-open an isa if funds are due to be transferred across.
