I have been with SBLI for over 20 years…

I have been with SBLI for over 20 years and find their insurance rates to be the best! I have had friends and family take advantage as well. KUDOS!

Difficult getting in touch with someone…

Difficult getting in touch with someone to answer questions. Still haven’t received a call about my questions with my bill. It was much better before all the electronic communication.

Michael Hall was so easy to work…

Michael Hall was so easy to work with...answered all of my questions and I never felt rushed or pressured.
He followed up with more questions I came up with. He's a very nice person and is a definite asset to your Company

Life insurance on adult children

Getting set up with life insurance on my adult son was great. Trying to explain that he was not the policy owner was a bit time consuming because they wanted him to provide payment information when he was not the policy holder.

Autowithdrawing for higher premium on old policy

Although the agent was extremely helpful in getting me a new policy more appropriate to my current needs, SBLI was still auto-withdrawing the premium for the old policy, which had now increased sizeably, rather than charging the lower premium for the new policy in place. I'm working with the agent and SBLI to get a refund on the higher premium.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand the frustration you experienced with the premium withdrawal from your prior policy. While your new policy was being set up, the older policy was still active and billed at its updated rate. That policy has since been surrendered, and a refund for the premium was processed and is scheduled to be issued on October 1, 2025.

It was frustrating

It was frustrating. I was ready to cancel and find new insurance. I got a different answer each time I asked a question. I was given the name of a case coor. but told I could not speak with her. I was repeatedly told I would be called back but never was.

The final cost lined up

The final cost lined up exactly with the initial quote so that was nice. The downside was how long the medical testing took. The first test was cancelled because the tester was sick. The second appointment was cancelled because the tester called me a half hour before and since I didn't answer, he unilaterally cancelled the appointment. I wasn't told to expect a confirmation call and was probably in the shower getting ready. The third appointment went as scheduled but he didn't know to do an EKG so that had to be scheduled. The first date fell through and it also had to be rescheduled.
It was pretty easy to set up the automatic payment on the web site but I had a hard time determining that the initial payment had been made. AOK now.

The process from start to finish took…

The process from start to finish took longer than expected. Underwriting reduce the amount I original needed to cover my personal and business loans. Than underwriting came back another time and increased the premium after they reduced it and gave me the newest information based on my medical and physical exam. If I could have got the original request life insurance amount I would of given 5 stars.
