Three weeks before the partial eclipse I bought safety glasses for our children from the RMG's online shop and only the day before the event they advised me that they couldn't supply them.
So how were we now to protect our children's eyes when they're out with others whose parents bought elsewhere?
They took our money and didn't come up with the goods, they advised us of their inability to fulfil their side of a bargain when it was too late for us to buy elsewhere and then they had the temerity to offer a discount as compensation, this only to benefit from more sales and under the despicable pretence of offering us something to our benefit.
Sadly the RMG's online shop is typical of what's wrong with Britain at the moment and should, to a man, be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and the organisation they purport to represent. Shop with them again . . . never. I don't trust them.

Exactly the same as Libby. Ordered Eclipse glasses on 27th July and NOTHING. Emailed and no answer. You might imagine they of all people would know why they were ordered and for what deadline. AND that this doesnt happen again for.decades.

If they had run out THEN WHY DID THEY SELL THEM TO ME????

What a joke. Eclipse glasses ordered on the 27th July plus £5.95 postage and still nothing!!!

It would be ironic if they don't know the Eclipse is in 5 days time!! Obviously they do but you'd not believe it!!😡

The whole complex banks on the fame of the Zero Meridian and has little else to offer. Poor value for money.

No arrangements for disabled access and the long distance from the main roads has to be covered on foot as there is no vehicular access for taxis, for example.

When asked about assistance for disabled persons the staff looked perplexed and directed me to the stairs...

The nice and extensive grounds have no benches or places where one can sit to rest or catch their breath.

The planned nice day out turned out into a rather traumatic experience...

This was a decidedly low-tech affair with projection equipment L O N G overdue for replacement, nothing stunning about it - in fact, it was an embarrassment, because, as a Londoner, this was third rate in the extreme and contributes to the impression Britain is broken and doesn’t even know it.
Resolution, colours and contrast were no better than you’d expect from a badly recorded VHS tape on an old style CRT television. As a visual display there was nothing good to say about it.
Don’t bother. You can see FAR better on your laptop, for free.
If we’d known, we’d have done something else with our time.

I ordered a large custom print of an astronomical photograph from the Royal Museums Greenwich website. The quality of and resolution of the print was shockingly poor for the price. The image looked like something blown up from an internet thumbnail and the print was in in no way photographic (or on photographic paper). It looked like something printed on a home printer. Of course, as a "custom" print - (n.b. they consider all of their prints to be custom prints) you can't refund or return it. Avoid at all costs.

On 2nd November 2023 I ordered 1x greeting card and a 4-pack of postcards, depicting items in the Royal Museums Greenwich collection.

The quality was disappointing. Not just the reproduction values but the fact that, unlike all greetings cards and postcards, these had a matt, non-gloss finish, so the colours were very dull.

I attempted to return the cards for a refund. I was refused (by a third party, Prodigi Group, who apparently produces the cards), on the basis that the cards were 'custom printed', and they don't offer refunds unless the items are 'faulty'.

This wasn't flagged up when I bought them.

As it was a low value order (total £10.90 inc. postage), I didn't bother with the suggestion to laboriously photograph the cards to show the problems - especially when Prodigi would know already the cards were matt finish and the resolution of the image file.

It is relevant to note that the RMG online shop no longer sells greetings cards and postcards of their image collection.
