Your Local Bike Shop Online
The independent, family-run cycle shop in Tenterden, Kent
Thanks for visiting RM Cycles! We’re a proudly family-owned and run independent bike shop, established in 2008 and based just outside Tenterden, Kent — one of England’s most charming market towns.
Cycling is in our DNA. Every member of our team is a cyclist or triathlete, so we truly understand the joy, challenges, and precision that come with finding the perfect bike. Whether you’re chasing podiums, exploring trails, or rediscovering the fun of two wheels, we’re here to help.
Our Philosophy
Come for the Price – Stay for the service
At RM Cycles, buying a bike isn’t a one-time transaction — it’s the start of a long-term relationship. From your first visit to every service that follows, we’re committed to giving you the smoothest, most reliable experience possible.
We want you to have total peace of mind knowing that your local bike shop understands your needs, knows your bike inside out, and genuinely cares about keeping you riding your best.
Shop with Confidence
Although we’re a traditional bricks-and-mortar store, most of our customers now find us online — and we aim to make that experience just as personal. Buying a new bike can be exciting but also daunting, which is why we encourage you to call or message us before purchasing. We’ll help you find exactly the right model, size, and setup for your goals and budget; Just as you would if you vistied your local bike shop!
We’re proud to stock some of the world’s most respected cycling brands, including Giant, Liv, Pinarello, Colnago, Santa Cruz, Trek, Cannondale and Frog Bikes. While we’re known for high-end road and mountain bikes, we welcome riders of all abilities and budgets — because everyone deserves expert advice and exceptional service. We want our customers to enjoy riding as much as we do!
Independent. Passionate. Trusted.
Unlike many UK bike retailers, RM Cycles is completely independent. That means our advice is always focused on what’s right for you — not on brand quotas or sales targets.
You can meet our owner and see a tour of the store here.
Workshop & Servicing
Our fully equipped workshop offers everything from quick tune-ups to full custom builds. Whether you’re maintaining your favourite bike or creating your dream ride, our experienced mechanics will ensure it performs beautifully.

Not so good as I haven't received the vouchers, as I haven't had post for a week. Obviously not your fault, but maybe use a different delivery service or r vouchers

Hi Caroline. I think there may have been a mis-understanding somewhere here. We don' send out physical/ Paper gift vouchers. The gidt voucher is actually the code that is on your e-receipt that was automatically emailed to when when the order was porcessed. I have re-sent the email with the code on it. THis can be redeemed onbline or in the shop, all you need is the code. Please do call if you have any more questions.
Great service

Hi Adrian, glad you're happy and thanks for posting a review. Nice bike! Have fun and stay safe!
Generally good.
Bike arrived very quickly and was packaged well. Brakes were well set up. Only minor niggle was that gears needed adjustment. Rear mech B screw was too far in and cable tension in both mechs was too high even with ajdusters fully slackened.

Hi Andy, thanks for taking the time to post a review and apologies everything wasn't perfect. We keep a record of which mechanics pack which bikes, so I will now be able to identify the mechanic and pass th feedback directly to him and examine any improvements he needs to make. I realise doesn't change things for you but it wll help us with our own QC. If you would like to call the shop we can make some arrangements to get the work done .

I purchased a Giant Revolt from RM cycles.
The bike arrived intact but the wrapping was a little lite inside the box, no hard foam blocks just wrapping paper and bubble wrap around the tubes. The frame is not scratched thankfully.
The bike was set up well and the GRX 820 groups performs well.
