Tim was truly exceptional from start to finish. after my mum was involved in a major accident in turkey, he flew out from the uk to bring her home safely. from the hospital in marmaris right through to the handover at manchester airport, he handled every part of the journey with complete professionalism, kindness and compassion.
he went above and beyond in every possible way. he took such wonderful care of my mum, making sure she was comfortable, reassured and supported throughout. he also gave so much reassurance to my mum and me during an incredibly stressful time. his calm nature, genuine care and constant support made all the difference when we needed it most.
we honestly cannot thank tim enough. he turned one of the hardest experiences of our lives into something that felt manageable, and knowing he was there gave us complete confidence that my mum was in the very best hands. he is a credit to his profession and, to us, a real-life superhero. I will never forget everything he did for my mum and my mum will never forget this either just saying thank you is not enough we owe you for life. thank you, tim – we'll be forever grateful.

Our recent experience with RMS via Georgie and Adam was outstanding.
Compassionate and empathetic in the most stressful of circumstances transporting my 22 year old daughter from crete holiday back to UK after 6 day stint in crete hospital when she developed ascending numbness and lost use of her legs due Gulianne Barr Syndrome. Georgie had knowledge of this awful rare condition and instantly understood what my daughter needed. I felt her advice and support was invaluable throughout. Adam kept us routinely updated on the progress regarding her repatriation organisation and plan on the day. OK we got few unexpected hiccups but we were kept informed throughout. Our transfer back to our local icu was seemless thanks to Geogies organisation ahead of time.
I would undoubtedly recommend EMS to anyone in these type of circumstances.

Tim Hodgson of ERV Medical Assistance was very competent and friendly, accompanied me from the hospital in France where I was staying for rehab, right through security, immigration etc. at both ends, and was helpful and pleasant company on the flight. He made sure he handed me over to the ambulance on arrival before going his way.

Highly professional but also kind, friendly and understanding service from RMS when my 85 year old sister needed repatriation after a hip fracture and subsequent surgery in France.
Anticipating the journey home wasn't easy, but once we met Tim who had flown out to accompany my sister back to the UK we were completely reassured. His medical knowledge, readiness for any potential problems and above all his warmth were exactly what we needed!

My husband and I was on a 15 day cruise from the uk, on the 2nd day of our holiday my husband suffered a stroke and a bleed on his brain.
We were in the bay of biscay and had another day at sea before we could dock in Portugal, he was admitted to hospital and we both stayed in the hospital for 12 days.
The insurance company arranged for us to have a paramedic fly in for the uk and help us get home, miles a paramedic arrived on Thursday and stopped by at the hospital to introduce himself to us, he returned the next morning at 6.45am to travel with us back to the uk Stansted airport.
Miles was such a lovely guy, he was very professional, caring,attentive and took care of everything, we couldn’t of got home without him, he came with us right to our home, even offering to take our suitcases upstairs.
I would not hesitate to recommend miles to anyone travelling after an accident, can’t fault the service that miles provided, we felt comfortable, and was and he reassured us all the time. Thankyou.

My wife shattered her knee on holiday in Tunisia she required surgery and there were some problems after that while she has in hospital making it near impossible for me to get her home.

That's when RMS stepped in . A brilliant service from the start with phone calls and emails keeping us up to date.
Then we met Tim the paramedic escort the day before we were due to fly home he reassured us that we would get home safely. He was really calm you could tell this wasn't his first rodeo a total professional. I wouldn't hesitate to use RMS in the future. Hopefully we won't have to . But if you have had a crisis on holiday these are the guys to get you back quickly and safely .thank again RMS

From my first contact with them to the return journey with a paramedic and then ambulance home they were absolutely professional and efficient.
All concerns and questions I had were answered with action and the care shown to my wife the patient by Sam the paramedic, was outstanding. This is a company who know and understand their customers concerns and take control of all issues reducing the stress on the patient and family.

Everything about my experience was made so easy, what could have easily been a very stressful experience wasn’t… Ryan the medic who helped me had everything sorted and under control!! Such a welcome telephone call from Repatriation Medical Services in the UK to me in hospital in Andorra with a broken pelvis. From that moment on I felt I was in safe hands. I was travelling solo and help was soon on its way. A fabulously calm advanced paramedic practitioner appeared a day later with the all important caffeine- Andorra's hospital is caffeine free - tea included! He managed the bureaucracy of the Andorran hospital with great patience . A really smooth transfer then took place with 3 seats reserved across a plane to the UK. A handover to a cheery ambulance crew and a long winding journey back to Dorset. Brilliant. I couldn't fault it and felt totally safe and secure. What a great bunch of professionals! If you ever have the unfortunate need of repatriation ask for this lot!

Don't look any further. I went through all 120 services on the .gov website and this is all you need to know. These are the most practical, knowledgeable and helpful of the lot. My mother, 90 and not insured, needed repatriating from the Caribbean with a broken hip. Adam worked really hard to get the best and most economical route. He was happy for me to help with planning and be involved and he kept me informed of all the contacts and plans as they evolved. Two paramedics were sent out to Mum, Tim and Cal, who couldn't have done more to reassure and help her feel that everything was under control. They facetimed me from the airport so I could speak with Mum while they were waiting and sent pictures from various points on the journey home. You have found the right company to get you out of a pickle-look no further.

Nurse Tim accompanied me from Austrian clinic on 3hr ambulance ride to Insbruck airport he negotiated me seamlessly through all formalities to the plane including wheelchair lift and then on flight to uk arranging seating with crew on arrival at Gatwick he was there every step with wheel chair and buggie recovering hold luggage and immigration until handing over to ambulance crew for journey home
Throughout his care and good humour was an enormous support..he even hand wrote a note to my doctor of some concerns on my vital signs checked throughout the journey
I cannot recommend their service too highly

My paramedic Tim Hodgson was fantastic and could not have done more to help during the journey to Rio de Janeiro Galeão airport, the BA flight to Heathrow and home delivery to Bayswater. He constantly took my body readings provided constant reassurance when I didn’t feel great. All in all wonderful professional and compassionate help! Thanks

I recently had a skiing accident in Bulgaria which resulted in a fracture in my pelvis. As a result I had to be flown home to the UK on a stretcher. Tim was assigned as my escort for the journey and all I can say is that he was amazing from the start.

It is difficult being in a foreign country where spoken English is limited and then when faced with a stretcher journey back to the UK with a stopover in Germany, it was quite a frightening prospect. Once Tim arrived he took control showing his experience in this area and was able to explain the process including what to expect for the stopover. It is nerve wrecking being stretchered onto a commercial flight, but Tim was very calm, kept checking my vitals and kept me comfortable.

I was delighted to be back in London and very thankful for Tim’s patience and keeping the journey stress free. I’ll be forever grateful to Tim.

Recently I had the immense privilege of being escorted home by Tim during a recent overseas trip when I faced unexpected health challenges. From the moment Tim arrived, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and reassurance.
Tim was not only incredibly professional, and has attention to detail is immaculate. He doesn’t miss a thing. He took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring I understood what was happening, and what would be happening during the following 24-hour period. He is calm, professional, confident and clearly possess extensive knowledge. My stress levels were through the roof until I met Tim.
He ensured I was comfortable during the entire escort, continually checking my vitals., and reassuring me.
I can’t thank Tim enough, he has had an immense impact me on me on a personal, and emotional level. What he did for me was truly amazing. Tim is a true asset to his profession. I am aware Tim also does work for the NHS, and I hope they appreciate, and realise what an amazing asset they have.

My Mother fell while in the TRNC and had to have a full hip replacement while there. The Travel Insurance company made contact with RMS to enable medical repatriation. There are some things that money cannot buy and that is the experience and knowledge of Adam and Tim, in the service that they provide to distressed and frightened patients, and family members, when in this awful situation. They know how things work (worldwide) with actually getting people back to the UK and then delivering them to the care that they need after landing.

Their communication was fantastic, from the minute Tim landed. He came straight to the hospital to do a pre-flight check, with Adam co-ordinating everything back in the UK.

Tim was kind, patient, caring and extremely reassuring every step of the way. Being a Paramedic, with significant experience, he took control and was just amazing.

Tim and Adam make a significant difference to people's lives/experiences with what they do. They have certainly had a significant impact on ours during the last 2-3 days and we cannot thank them enough.

Where do I even begin? Having a loved one suddenly fall ill is tough enough, but when it happens far from home, it feels almost impossible. All the usual comforts and support systems—emotional and physical—are gone, and I felt completely trapped and terrified. That’s when RMS stepped in and truly gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn’t just about booking a service or making a transaction. From the very first conversation, it was clear that they were there for me emotionally. I needed to know I wasn’t alone, and that’s exactly what they provided. Georgie, in particular, gave me the strength I needed to start seeing a way forward after what had been an incredibly hard few weeks. We are now back at home, and it never would have happened without the support of RMS. I’m forever grateful for their help during one of the most challenging times of my life.

From the initial telephone and text message contacts it was clear that Sam was making thorough preparations to ensure transfers were smooth and efficient. His preparation of the documentation including Boarding Passes was detailed and effective as were the various stages involved to make the journey from hospital in Spain to hospital in Wales.

Sam listened well to my concerns and made me feel confident and able to travel safely. He was very attentive to my medical needs and quietly helped me to overcome challenges. His professionalism was exemplary.

The reviews on this site made me contact RMS. We were given a list from The British Embassy. I am so glad that I did. I can't thank Adam and Tim enough for the level of service and help that we received with our stressful situation.
An estranged family member needed to be repatriated after being hit by a car. No travel insurance. Adam was always available to contact and helped with the best quote asking the right questions for the travel arrangements.
My daughter traveled with Tim. Tim was amazing with the patient and my daughter. I honestly don't know what we would have done without the support from RMS. Thank you all so much again
