We used Rainier Overseas Movers for our move from Washington, DC to London. Both in DC and then again in London, we found the whole process well-organized and efficient. All of our stuff--furniture, kitchen wear, clothes--came unharmed and in easily identifiable boxes. Rainier packed and unpacked all the boxes, making packing very easy. Communication was constant and questions answered. The whole process, from departure to arrival took just over 6 weeks. I cannot recommend Rainier highly enough.

On collection day, the crew arrived and packed everything quickly, carefully, and professionally, creating a detailed inventory that I was able to submit to HMRC, allowing me to avoid paying import duty. This, too, had been clearly explained in advance by Don, which made what could have been a stressful process feel straightforward and manageable.

Throughout the shipment, I was kept informed of progress and expected delivery dates. While there were a couple of minor delays (which are understandable given the scale of an international move), I was genuinely blown away by how quickly my belongings ultimately arrived.

On delivery day, Christopher (and another team member whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch) arrived and unloaded everything into my ground-floor storage in under 30 minutes. Once again, they were professional, efficient, and extremely helpful.

Moving 8000 miles from home was a scary endeavour. Don and his team at Rainier made this component a dream. Super communication, very transparent, no surprises or drama. With this being our first international move, I had so many (likely dumb) questions and they were so helpful and patient with me and my panic. I will say that there were less expensive options, but paying a little bit more for a personal, almost bespoke experience was well worth it. I can't thank them enough!

Rainier recently managed a small groupage from the US to Italy and all the people I had contact with were very helpful and friendly. All went well except for the actual delivery that had the minor inconvenience of the movers arriving unannounced in spite of having been asked to call when they had an ETA. Not a big deal, as we happened to be home but it could have been an issue if we had been out on errands. I don't blame Rainier but that was a bit of a mark on an otherwise fine shipment.

Rainier Movers took the stress out of an overseas move that was pretty short notice. The packers packed everything so securely and well, there was no breakage at the other end. Don was highly communicative, quickly responded to my emails and calls, and I could tell he genuinely cared about my move and making it as stress free as possible. The companies that worked with Ranier did a fantastic job - they were careful with my belongings. I moved from CO to HI and everything arrived intact! I highly recommend Ranier for overseas moves - or any move that one makes!

Rainer provided the U.S. portion of our move from Ecuador to the U.S. (INSA did the Ecuador portion). Both companies were great: professional, helpful, and timely. Great door-to-door service. Our "stuff" was packed in Quito May 23 and reached us in Oregon August 14 in perfect condition.

I planned a rather complicated move from Nebraska to Czech Republic. Don helped me step by step. He answered all my questions and responded to emails very quickly. My move involved more than one third party shipping service and all worked out smoothly. I have an amazing experience with Rainier and I would choose them again!

Rainier helped us with out move from Washington, DC to London and they were simply the best. Easy to work with, warm, and prompt, they clearly cared about all of our things reaching our new home quickly and safely. This is the smoothest international move I have done, and I could not be happier with the service Rainier provided. It was barely over two weeks between our things leaving for port in Baltimore to arriving at our home in London. I would recommend Rainier to anyone.

I have relocated between California and Italy eight times over the past several years, so I am very familiar with the process and what to expect from international moving companies. Unfortunately, my most recent move with Rainer Overseas was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Pickup Delays and Poor Communication
The problems started on day one. Rainer Overseas was scheduled to pick up our household goods at 2:00 pm, but they didn’t arrive until 7:00 pm—five hours late, with no meaningful updates or apologies. This caused unnecessary stress and upended our carefully planned moving schedule.
Unacceptable Delivery Time
While every other company I’ve used has delivered my shipment in 40 to 60 days, Rainer Overseas took a staggering 106 days to deliver our belongings. That’s nearly double the typical timeframe and completely unacceptable for a transatlantic move.
Damaged Goods
When our shipment finally arrived, several boxes were completely crushed. It was obvious that our belongings had been handled very poorly throughout the journey. Some items inside were damaged as a result, adding insult to injury after such a long wait.
Summary
After seven successful relocations with other companies, I can confidently say that Rainer Overseas provided the worst moving service I have experienced. From late pickup and excessive delays to careless handling of our possessions, every step of the process was disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone considering an international move to look elsewhere.
