My first order from prototypist.net, made at 14:49 on Friday afternoon and the package arrived the next morning, despite the estimated delivery day being Monday in the email from DHL.

Neo75 Cu keyboard kit, deskmat, keycaps.

Items are great and exactly as described. Delivered very quickly with no issues at all.

I will use them again.

Bought a keycap set and it arrived with some basic packaging in a couple days to Belgium, had zero issues and I'm satisfied with both the service and product.

Always had a fantastic service from ProtoTypist and I easily have over 20 orders with them (in-stock ,pre-orders, and group buys).

Jae is the absolute G.O.A.T of this hobby, especially for UK folk.

Passionate, Generous Experts -- Prototypist are what happens when someone who is passionate and great at something wants to share it more broadly and do it well. I've purchased from them twice in the last few months and most recently was talked out of a big sale to a much much smaller order to see if I could deal with soldering and the componentry. It's a special type of company that cares enough about their area to want people to have a great experience more than to make money! P.s. The kit I was pointed at was EXACTLY what I needed and taught me a lot!

The folks at prototypist have become a pillar of the mechanical keyboard community within the UK. They are the go-to vendor for pretty much any group buy or sale for keyboard related items. For the vast majority of purchases, this can go off without a hitch and they seem like a no-brainer if you're thinking about purchasing something keyboard related. I would especially commend the number of regular discounts and giveaways that the team do, they can be very generous at certain points! This has garnered somewhat of a cult following within the keyboard community. I think the shipping expectation that prototypist have set of ‘usually 3 working days’ is a little optimistic - I’ve regularly seen deliveries taking up to a week or more for in stock, and have seen other items take the best part of a month to ship.
In terms of customer service, The prototypist team are very accessible and easy to get in touch with and I've received very accommodating support via email and heard some anecdotes of very lovely support from the team. However, hopping into the Discord server (a regular and active place) prototypist have can glean a particularly unfriendly community if you’re not in the ‘in crowd’. I’ve witnessed some particularly frosty behaviour to newcomers, including ‘have you tried reading’ type comments from loyal community members, which can be very obtuse and patronising, especially if you are only asking for some help - we all have dumb moments but the prototypist team seem to have utilised their community to be used as support mechanism, but not taken care to garner a supportive community. If you do happen to need support, I would recommend staying to email if you require support.
For someone who has been around the mechanical keyboards community in the uk for a good couple of years, I have witnessed prototypist have been seen to become cemented in the UK mechanical keyboards community, but they are not without their shortfalls. I hope you have a lovely experience, but I will pray for you if something goes wrong.

I ordered a GMK set and was away for a month before I received it. When it came time to build my keyboard, I found GMK had shipped my set with two '0' keys and no '9' key, but by then the set had been shipped out from Proto Typist about 2 months ago. I emailed them to explain the situation, and was told they would have to contact GMK as they had no spares around. Months went by and I accepted that my keyboard may remain unfinished, until the keycap came in the mail 5 months after my request. I must say, Jae and the team have went beyond my expectations of customer service to fulfil my keyboard build due to no fault of their own. Even outside of their window to report faults in products, they still honoured their commitment to me and have earned my trust. Will definitely count on them for any future builds.

Bought some switches that were on sale and it was processed fairly fast and was packaged well. Will be using them again for sure

The best keyboard company in the UK. Not to put any of the other companies down AT ALL (cause all of them are great too), but PT are just a little above them all in my opinion.
Great customer service, always got the latest products selling, great community on their discord.
If it wasnt for PT, I'm not sure the UK would have such a great option for all those group buys for keyboard stuff out there.

I have ordered from prototypist the Zoom75EE with the first groupbuy around the end of April.
It costed me 160GBP + 40GBP shipping.
I'm living in israel and after the conflict began the rates for shipping increased to almost 200GBP JUST FOR SHIPPING!
Today the guy from the customer support Jae Flynn sent me the order while paying 140 GBP in shipping and took losses. I really appreciate this act and I hope it wont happen to more people but it genuinely is a very nice endeavor to do.

Really good expereince with Prototypist. Order was dispatched quickly and delivered the next day with DHL. Would definitely recommend shopping here if you are interested in mechanical keyboards - 100% one of the better companies out there.

I'm yet to actually purchase anything from the site, but will definitely be doing so in future. Instead, this review is about a positive experience I had with Jae, the owner.

On the 16th of April, I posted a comment in the MKUK Discord server asking if a certain style of switch tester I had found was available to buy in the UK. Unfortunately, no one could find anything, but Jae very kindly offered to 3D Print me one, absolutely free of charge! He was very quick to respond to all my emails and messages about the tester, and, less than a week after posting the comment, I had the tester!

Basically just wanted to share this story to let people know that they're buying from and supporting a great guy by shopping at Prototypist Keyboards.

I ordered some in-stock items (Stabilisers and a Brush) from proto[Typist], they were dispatched within the timeframe mentioned on the website then delivered the next day.

Of the four companies I ordered things for my mechanical keyboards from recently, they were one of only two that actually managed to deliver as promised, I would buy from them again.

Always great service! Items are dispatched relatively quickly after order and are always on a 24hr service with DHL.

Jae has also very kindly completed a repair due to my own error in my earlier days of building keyboards.

A good range of in-stock keycaps from GMK and similar, which surpasses anyone else I've dealt with.

Definitely a company I will continue ordering from.

Does not allow cancellation of group buy-orders. All other big European mechanical keyboard vendors do allow cancellation and full refund, so better to avoid Prototypist.

I use Proto[typist] and Keycrox to be able to get what I can in the UK without waiting on the extra month shipping from Asia

At first i was sceptical of the site because their was only 1 review on trustpilot, but i loved the design of the desk mat so i took the risk. That risk paid off. The quality of the mat is as good as it gets. Very high quality print, vibrant colours and good stitching around the edges. packaging was spot on too!
