Unfortunately, we had to make a claim for our dog Prince. Nicky handled this professionally and speedily and I can definitely recommend ProtectaPet and Plegasus Europe SL, I felt the claim, which was backed up by the vets report, was handled fairly and amicably.

I asked them THREE TIMES before signing the contract, if the insurance would go into effect immediately. And three times, Oliver told me yes. It did not. Now I lost 535 Euros. I did not get a cent back from the vet visit because the insurance did NOT go into effect immediately as I was told.
Protectapets response to the misinformation? "I would like to clarify that Oliver does not work for Protectapet directly, he is an employee of an agent that sells our policies on our behalf" - Sorry????

SCAMMERS stay far, far away from them.

Horrendous! Bought a plan, after reading their terms and conditions further I later on that day decided to cancel the plan. Emailed Kay Jackson, Sales Manager, and closed my account, she said

‘ Thank you for your email, you have a 10 day cooling off period so that is no problem. Please reject your payment in your on line banking app, and I have deactivated your account our end.’

I talked to my bank to dispute payment, they did and got my refund. Then got a notification saying Protectapet have refused on their side, now I’m down €60 for a plan I don’t have or want.

DONT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THESE! They don’t cover anything, and are scam artists!!

The company offers you their diamond cover, as a premium pet cover but they put everything they can to exclude from covering your pets. If you are looking for a good comprehensive cover, please don't buy into this as there is better value for money covers on the market (in Spain).

Do not I repeat do not use this company ! Just lost our 8 year little girl, hospitalised for 10 days, 3 blood transfusions, tests etc. But there was no more the vet could do as she had liver failure in the end. But because we had her euthanised this company won’t pay out. We paid €3500 in treatment and they offered €400. If she had survived we would of got it all but because she didn’t we won’t. The terms and conditions of their policies are terrible hardly covers for anything. We are heartbroken and disappointed by this company.

Nicky and her team at Protectapet.eu really helped me beyond words last year. It’s taken me awhile to write this review as I lost my 14 year old furbaby in the end after several months (sometimes there’s only so much you can do..) but having the support and understanding of this company during our time of need was everything. We had to get multiple tests and procedures done and once the claim was reviewed, the rebate was in my account within hours with communication and commitment to the cause through the whole time. They are knowledgable, helpful, professional and genuinely care for the customers - whether human or animal 🤍🙏

I had other insurance in the UK previously before moving to Spain and as an expat, this company was a breathe of fresh air to deal with- especially when heartache is involved. I would not hesitate to recommend Protectapet.eu to anyone moving to Europe with their furry companions… and one day when I’m ready to get another pet I would not hesitate to come back to this company.

Be careful paying in to this policy as covers very little and as your dog ages, even less. I made one claim as advised to by my vets, went through collating all the information for them to say I could not make a claim for my dog´s CT scan discovery of a malformation in her ear, which would only have been discovered this way and they put it down to treatment for otitis. Considering I have never made a claim and deal with all other ailments etc. makes me feel very let down. Save your money - dont insure with this firm - choose others. I wont make this mistake again.

Best pet Insurance company. I have had my dog insured for 8 years now with Protectapet and the premium never goes up, even after having made 11 claims to date. Always courteous on the phone and the claims are paid out really quickly. Well impressed.

If you want an insurer you can rely upon, one who is clear, concise and trustworthy, then choose an insurer other than this one. Being told to submit my claim quickly because it is a first come, first served basis? Why that affects the claim I do not know, then to deny the claim prior to its submission because the issues are not covered, and Rachel sends a rude email critical of the vets policies. Use a different one for satisfaction.
