My experience with Prospero Teaching was, unfortunately, extremely disappointing. I worked with the agency for some time, but ultimately decided to stop because the pay and conditions I received did not match what had been communicated to me when I agreed to work with them. I felt deeply disappointed and, honestly, felt that I had been misled about what I could expect.

As an immigrant working in England, this was one of my most disappointing professional experiences. The difference between what was promised and what was actually delivered left me feeling undervalued and frustrated.

I have since found another agency, and my experience with them has been significantly better. This has made the contrast with my experience at Prospero even more apparent.

I am sharing this feedback sincerely and not with the intention of engaging in a lengthy discussion. I have noticed that responses to reviews often invite people to contact the agency directly. I am not looking to initiate that process. The reason I am giving Prospero 5 stars is because they truly know how to accommodate their employees according to their individual needs and skills.
They place a strong emphasis on trust, encouragement, and support for all team members.
From day one I have felt valued, respected, and well supported. Prospero creates a positive environment where staff can grow and deliver the best care for the young people we work with.
Highly recommend.

I had registered with another agency first …. let’s just say it was not at the same level as this one. Great from consultant stage face to face on teams meeting before seeking employment and all courses were CPD credited. Very informative and excellent communication throughout listened to what my needs were with seeking employment I.e part time not full time and clearly had taken this on board. Special shout out to Chanai and Matt brilliant

I’ve had a really positive experience with Prospero Teaching. My consultant has been absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. They have always been approachable, supportive and quick to respond whenever I’ve had a question or needed help.
I’ve really appreciated the understanding and reassurance I’ve received, especially when things have been a little uncertain. I’ve always felt that my consultant genuinely cared and wanted to help me find the right opportunity.
Thank you for all your support and for making the whole experience so much easier and less stressful. I would definitely recommend Prospero Teaching to anyone looking for a supportive and reliable teaching agency.

I have had a very positive experience working with Prospero. I quickly secured long term work at a local school, which I enjoyed. The consultants at Prospero are supportive and efficient. In particular, Patrick G, Steven H and Lockie were very professional and kind to work with.

I have been working with Prospero Teaching 10 Years since November 2016 since I started working. My Consultant was Kelly a marvellous lady from New Zealand I really enjoyed working with the Agency and specially her . She was the perfect picture of the company . Ans for the time being I met a lot of amazing consultants like Jessica and Skyler and Billy and also Jared nice people they make the job nine and very organised. I had been out of work since July 2024. I was applying for lots of jobs just to see if I could get anything. I then came across Prospero Teaching. They gave me a call in February 2025, and they said that linwood school in alma road are short staffed and needs agency staff to come in and support students with autism and learning difficulties. I accepted the post and started working there. I was at Linwood School for a year and applied for a full-time post at Linwood School and got the job. I was so pleased, I thanked Prospero for all their help and support, along with the teaching assistants at Linwood.

If I could rate this agency 0, I genuinely would. There is a concerning lack of care for their agency staff. They don’t respond to emails and when you then ask to speak with a manager, they’ll tell you that there’s no one senior. No one answers the phone and when they do on the odd chance, you can never get your matter resolved. I would avoid this agency at all costs, it’s not worth the hassle, stress and mental toll.

They’ll also lie about your pay, they’ll tell you a specific amount, and then the school will inform you that the price wasn’t even discussed let alone agreed. Absolutely disgusting especially if you you’ve already accepted the position. No morals at all!!!

Worked for the agency for four years dealing with Lee. Always had a good relationship with Lee who has kept me in work throughout my time with them. Dealings have always been transparent so I know where I am with them

I have worked for Prospero since 2021, in these 5 years I have found at certain times the staff to be thoughtful and considerate.
I am fully aware of the difficulties they face in trying to act as go between to schools and agency workers which makes matching up the person to the venue difficult at times.
The only criticism I can make is the lack of consideration when there is an error in the booking process, such as allocating a venue tgat had previously cancelled the booking.
If I am booked at a school and it is cancelled I am always told I would be compensated for the time and fuel used for the wasted journey, this has never happened no matter how many times I have asked; the response is always positive but the compensation is never forthcoming.
Nearly all the schools I am sent to are considerable distances away from my home location thus I lose money by no fault of my own.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I’ve been with Prospero for literally a year and there is one staff I would recommend so so much and deserve so much recognition. Zara.G has helped me get into the best schools and just been genuinely supportive and always on standby when I’ve needed help with anything!!

Reliable and supportive team to work with. Communication has been clear and professional, and they have provided good support throughout my tutoring placement. I’ve had a positive experience working with them.

I've been with Prospero for a while now. I find them really helpful and they cater ro my needs. The staff there are really friendly and helpful and will keep im touch during the school hoildays.

I dealt with Matt and Chanai. They both have a wealth of knowledge surrounding all things education and have been very supportive, informative with a kind and person centred approach throughout my journey with them so far. Navigating a career change is very overwhelming at times but with their support its felt a lot easier and far more exciting than stressful. I am very thankful and super excited to start my next steps and can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done.

Absolutely appalling to deal with. They bombarded me with emails day after day for work. I was in the process of leaving the job I was in at the time and gambled, leaving the job believing this company would deliver on their promise in securing me work. Six weeks in and I haven't had a single job. They contact me once a week to say they need something else for 'compliance'. I'm starting to think they are actually taking the micky out of me. Very, very, very poor company, horrendous communication.

Found a great placement but the agency tried to underpay me, upon complaining, they didn't place me again!

Totally unprofessional with a biased complaint system, stay away if you can?

They promise the earth and then deliver absolutely nothing! In the crunch period of me trying to secure a job I got sent so many wildcards (aka schools that didn’t match my preferences) that all I could do was keep reminding them of the clock. The fact is it’s all very cloak and dagger. One so called “bad” reference from a spiteful ex employer and my recruiter did a complete 360. They pull you in and spit you out. The company wants to seem like it really has the best candidates to offer and that comes at the expense of its humanity. Thank you for wasting my time! Is there a recruitment crisis in New Zealand or not? Well Prospero you well and truly put me off.
