This service commenced in 2012 and enables you to request fully accredited UKAS ISO5189 pathology testing at up to 31 Spire Private Hospitals rated either Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. With Phlebotomy and our own GP referral included, samples are analysed across Spire's own Laboratory Network and results are sent straight to your inbox. This is an all-in-one VIP service, not a DIY postal kit.

Thoroughly worthwhile and very good value
The process was swift and straightforward from start to finish. The staff at the Spire Hospital Portsmouth were friendly and professional and the results came through very quickly indeed. I particularly valued the doctor’s commentary.

Very disappointed with the online…
Very disappointed with the online process. Was very fragmented and frustrating trying to book an blood test for both myself and husband. Spoke to several people who clearly had no idea how the procees worked, however promising to ring back but this didnt materilise. I did take up a complaint with both Spire and Blue Horizon . Spire staff were much more helpful and did say they would raise the issue and do more staff training. However the response from Blue Horizon was less satisfactory basically deflecting our comments, by highlighting this was not an experience shared by others, so didnt sense they were genuinly interested. For what its worth no offer of any compensation or even discount on any future tests for our frustrations and time wasted , which perhaps speaks for itself

Blue Horizon were extremely fast and efficient, thankyou very much for helping me sort blood tests out prior to surgery. The process was Stress free and the staff at the Spire partner hospital were great.

Quick email response with clear instructions. Smooth blood test and results within timescales. I hadn’t realised that they are an outsourced company which made for a bit of confusion when booking the company with the hospital. But otherwise fine, staff friendly and helpful.

Glad I paid privately for my blood test as I was worried after seeing my gp and was told to go to a&e for a blood test everything was straight forward and tests done well and results quick
I would use this company again for sure it has put my mind at rest and been very helpful and with the cases discount pricing was good

I’m very happy with my experience. All information given to me was extremely clear, my experience at my chosen hospital was very good. My results have been received very quickly aswell. Would recommend and would also use again if needed.

Lack of support
The test results were provided ahead of target completion which was great. However, the clinic I provided my results to didn't accept them in the format they were provided since they needed to verify they were from a UKAS accredited lab. Sadly the support team couldn't provide any additional evidence to demonstrate this. I had to independently contact spire hospital to obtain the information to satisfy the clinic.

It’s understandable how confusing it can be when results differ, especially when you're trying to make sense of it all.
Different labs can sometimes use varying methods or reference ranges, which might explain the variation.
We do actually use the same laboratories as the NHS, please feel free to share with us more information on this via my email rebecca@bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk so I can clarify for you with our own medical director.
