With Phlebotomy and our own GP referral included, samples are analysed across Spire's own Laboratory Network and results are sent straight to your inbox. The whole process was quick and simple.
The whole process was quick and simple.
They sent through the guidance, I chose a convenient hospital, travelled to the hospital, waited 2 minutes, gave blood, confirmed my time of donation on the provided website and then waited just over a week for the results.
The results were clear and additional thoughts from a Doctor were helpful to understand what everything meant.

Comprehensive tests, if a little lacking in the explanation of what the results actually mean.
Booking procedure is a little cumbersome as the blood samples have to be taken at a hospital not directly connected to this company.
I asked for my results to be looked at and commented on by their doctor(s) before I received the results. This added an extra couple of days to the turnaround time, but the results took just over 2 weeks which I was very pleased with.
However, I believe that a significantly more comprehensive explanation of what each result means would make getting the results more useful to anyone other than another Doctor.

We understand that the booking process can feel a little cumbersome, particularly as the blood samples are taken at hospitals not directly operated by us.
Just to clarify, we work in partnership with these hospitals to offer professional phlebotomy services across the country.
While this gives our patients broad access to trusted clinical sites, we know it can make the booking feel a bit less streamlined, and we’re always looking for ways to improve that experience.
We're pleased to hear the overall turnaround time was acceptable and that the process worked well for you.
It's also important to emphasise the value of sharing your results with your local GP or healthcare provider. While we aim to provide helpful medical commentary which is a free of charge option, based on the data from your tests, only a practitioner with access to your full history, current symptoms, and overall health background can offer truly personalised clinical advice.
Your GP is best placed to interpret your results within the broader context of your care.

Excellent experience - would use again!
The user experience of searching for specific tests, understanding the details of what was included in these tests and adding them to my basket and paying was seamless. What stood out was the information pamphlets sent out after purchase with detailed instructions about what to do next and any issues to avoid. It felt very personalised and considerate. The test results arrived back earlier than planned and the Dr's notes were very informative. I would not hesitate to use Private Blood Tests again.
