Just made a cup, ahh it's still a lovely cup of tea.

This new "original" blend tastes awful, I used to love the slightly peppery spicey taste of the blend in the pyramid bags. PG Tips have lost me as a loyal consumer.

I bought the ones that are loose in a bag. They have an horrendous strong after taste of cooking oil. The cup of tea actually smelled of a fish and chip shop. Disgusting. Its as if the bags have been tainted with the smell of cooking oil.

Well, after drinking PG tips for the best part of 40 odd years. I have noticed that the so called tea lacks the ability to brew. You gen z's use the word infusion to be different. Up north it's called 'a brew'. Disappointed with the quality of tea in the bag and like most products sold in the uk are overpriced for reduced quantity and quality. I suppose India has had enough of the British colonial past New world order anyone?

Loved my cuppa for over 30 yrs. Now want a refund for 200 tea bags. I'm throwing them as the bags drop to the bottom of the cup and there's no real tea taste no matter how mong they infuse. If you want to retain custo ers Rei state the pyramid bags and give us back proper original . You didn't advertise this New Blend except for a tiny logo on the box. I'm really sad I no longer look forward to a cup of tea from PG. Change it back please!!

I bought a large box and when I opened it the bags had opened up and there were loose tea leaves in the box. I contacted pg tips and gave them all the details.they said the £6 was put into my account on 1st October . My bank has never received this money. I have contacted them several times and they apologise and say they will sort it out and thank me for my patience . Someone is not telling the truth. Disgusting

I recently bought a box of pg tips from Asda. There is something wrong about the taste. I tried 4 tea bags and they all tasted off, quite an unpleasant taste. I have been drinking pg for years. Are you aware of complaints concerning your tea products recently? I will have to change brand

If it aint broke, don’t fix it is good advice that PG should have considered. Why on earth did they have to change PG Tips? I expect the latest tea blend is cheaper so they thought they would make more money. That strategy won’t work if nobody will buy it because it tastes awful. Also, if this tea has changed so much, is it legal to mark the packaging “original”.

Oy! Stop monkeying around with my favourite tea. Why does it taste like dishwater all of a sudden?

These new bags are awful we have used Pg for over 40 years and unless the original tasty bags are reintroduced then I am afraid I will never buy them again which is sad

I have been drinking PG Tips all my life, just like my parents and grand parents. PG Tips was the best you could buy! I just tried the new square bags and
OMG WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?
All I can taste is the tannins.I still have some of the old pyramid tea bags and there is just no comparison.
I will be boycotting PG Tips and trying other brands from now on. What a shame, they took a national treasure and ruined it.

Loyal PG Tips customer in like forever. Absolutely refuse to buy the ‘new’ square bags and tea. The pyramid bags and the old blend wasn’t broken, so why fix it? At least Nestle listened to their faithful customers when they changed their nesquik formula as they soon realised by people boycotting their product this would lose them a lot of custom, and fast. They bought back the old formula to much rejoicing. Going by the reviews on every site since the bizarre and not needed change, I can see PG Tips losing a lot of customers and in turn, a lot of money. I won’t be buying your brand again until you change both the bag and blend back!

So disappointed to see that PG Tips aren't really biodegradable after all. At least not by us. We have bought thousands thinking they were biodegradable but it turns out they have plant based plastic which you can't compost at home. The plastic only breaks down in industrial composting conditions. So our carefully prepared compost at home and in our veg patch now has tiny bits of plastic in it.

We asked a friemd to bring us back some PG Tips as they tend to be more expensive in the Middle East. At first I thought the milk was off, then realized it was the tea! It tastes nothing like the old pyramid bag tea. Now we are desperately trying to source the original bags before they are old sold out and have thrown away the new ones. I really hope they will bring back the old flavour or will have to switch brands.

Like so many others I used PG Tips pyramids for eons and didn't consider anything else. However, I began to notice that the taste was different and not for the better. The bags were also breaking during the brew, something that never happened before. After a bit of research I realised that they had actively changed the make-up of the bags so that they were biodegradable. Oh dear.
I started looking for an alternative and tried Yorkshire. Not bad but not right for me. Then I saw a Which? tea test and hey ho, Asda Everyday Tea Bags came top. I was a bit sceptical but as I shop at Asda I bought some. Thoroughly nice taste at a very good price - and they sell them in 240s. I would highly recommend and I can see why they came top in the taste test. Worth a try if you're looking for an alternative.

I have been a loyal PG Tips customer for decades, but this latest change is forcing me to look for a new brand.

First, the manufacturing process is dreadful—I bought a four-pack of 160-count boxes, and in each one of them, half of the tea bags were partially open, as if they were never properly sealed in the first place. The tea bags come in joined pairs, and in each pair, one of the bags wasn't fully sealed along the outside edges. So, my journey into this new blend was already blighted by losing half of the tea bags I'd bought.

Next, the tea itself. It is ground so fine it's not recognizable as tea—no sign of the "top two tea leaves" the PG Tips used to advertise.

Finally, the cuppa. PG Tips has admitted to changing the blend in order to brew more quickly, but the resulting cup of tea is terrible. There is no rich flavor, no natural sweetness of the tea leaves. Instead, it's a bitter blend of floor sweepings that makes a cup of hot brown water in a minute.

This saddens me so much. I really loved PG Tips, but they've ruined it for me.

I think PG Tips, as they refer to themselves now rather than Brooke Bond, spent £50 million developing this new product, all so it would brew in 1-2 minutes.
It's weak, little flavour, tastes like a bargain basement supermarket tea, worse I think. What it has in common with very cheap teas, in the packet I have, is unseparated two teabag sets. Unlike, eg., Twinings, Clipper, Yorkshire Tea, etc, the bags rarely separate easily. So, one is left with one intact teabag and a worktop covered with tea....dust, from a torn one. It is a cheap looking, cheap tasting, poorly made product. Best ignored.
