What has happened to PG tips tea ??
I was a big supporter of PG tips ..but what the hell has gone wrong !!
Surely the leaves must be the same, and I’m thinking the production cannot really affect the taste, can it ?
But the tea is just awful.
Plus, the packaging doesn’t help
There is no cellophane around the boxes to help keep them fresh and so the tea bags are almost stale before you get them home, with no inner protective sleeves either.
I understand the need to reduce plastic
But there has to be another solution to this problem
You are killing off an institution
Won’t be buying them again

Been drinking PG Tips for as long as I remember. Try many different teas but always go to to PG Tips.
This new tea is the worst one I have ever had. So disappointed and so sad that I won't be able to enjoy my lovely cuppa tea in the morning.

The new tea tastes awful. It’s horrible. The pyramid bags gives the tea room to brew and anyone knows you can’t brew a tea in one minute. It needs three to four minutes at least to properly brew. It also needs this time for the full amount of antioxidants to come out that do you so good. They have completely lost the plot. I have been stocking up on pyramid bags. But after that I shan’t buy pg again. Memories of new taste coke?

Absolutely failure by Pg tips, new box means cheaper products... Was a customer for 68 years the taste is revolting now. Time to move on to Yorkshire tea, not even worth the 1 star Pg.

If everyone was crying out for a changed product that matched a purported change of habits , why didn't the company announce this with great fanfare ? I bought a new box just thinking the box had changed and it was one of the biggest disappointments of my life - no exaggeration ! A whole lifetime of drinking PG ( after chimps were dropped) and I am now in limbo , lost without my favourite drink. Your new tea sucks PG .

Just tried the new blend for the first time and it tastes horrible, just horrible.

I'm finding a new tea brand unless they bring back the old bags and blend.

What have you done to the flavour.
It now tastes of perfume!
Absolutely ruined an excellent product and I am going to have to find a new favourite.

Glad to see so many others agree. Having been out of the country for a couple of months l didn't realise the change. I picked up a box of PG tips teabags and thought nothing of it until I made the tea. A totally disgusting experience. These t-bags have totally lost the unique PG taste. They have a very bitter taste and astringent after flavour. I will not be buying them again!

New tea bags are shocking all not sealed in the box and the tea tastes disgusting.
Will not be using again.

I’ve drunk your pg tea for over 60 years. Stop drinking it about six months ago.I don’t know what you’ve done to it now. It taste totally terrible leaves a taste in your mouth not very good. Well not good at all. so I stopped buying it now gone to Yorkshire today. It is a better cup of tea, goodbye PG tips. P.S I only give it one Star because you can’t give none

These new flat bags have now arrived in Sweden and I bought them thinking it was just a change in format.

But the taste here is so completely different that it might as well just be another tea entirely. Gone are the nice velvety smooth black tea notes bordering on caramel and toffee, instead they're replaced with an astringent, nasty acrid taste that I associate with cheaper bagged teas.

PG Tips has had a legendary reputation in tea drinker circles for being one of the few bagged teas that could match the complexity of loose leaf tea. But not anymore. Clearly there's been some change in leadership that thinks this is a valid strategy, which is sad, because that means the company no longer understands its customers.

I'll be going over to one of your competing brands which is nearly the same experience. To those of you that helped created and maintain the old flavour, thank you for creating an incredible product.

The new bags are Just like dishwater.

I agree with every comment about the change in PG tips. I have even emailed the company to voice my displeasure.
The smell, taste and disgusting after taste are unbearable. After 20 plus years I am no longer a PG Tips drinker.
Yorkshire Tea here I come !!!

Everything I came here to say has been said. I started to think there was something wrong with my taste buds! In addition, there is no consistency of taste even between the bags as I find one teabag can taste worse than another. I have thrown so many cups of tea down the sink! Those that are undrinkable even smell awful, worsening with the addition of hot water. I never thought I would feel the need to resort to Trustpilot over teabags! I too shall be road testing other brands after years of PG tips.

Sad and disappointed. New box, New bags, New tea, First cup could only tasted the small amount of honey I use. Next cup tried two tea bags, it only made the liquid darker! Awful!

It's plain to see, even with all their "50 million pounds spent on research" that this is a money saving, money grubbing tactic. The new bag and tea are NOT PG TIPS-dont make a better brew -just read the reviews PG TIPS/ UNILEVER . 30+ years with this brand...now moving to Barry's & Yorkshire Gold. anything but PG tips....there goes another customer Unilever....

Brought these last week and how awful have they become weak no flavour taste cheap tea going back to tetley worth the money

Completely agree with these comments. I’ve had PG Tip for 40+ years and wouldn’t have drunk anything else before the changes. Tasteless, dusty tea is not a step forward. I’ve changed brands and will now not be drinking PG Tips anymore. This has cost cutting written all over it.

New PG tips teabags are disgusting,
Having been a PG tips drinker for 30+ years I am now being forced to move to another brand. The new square bags taste disgusting and leave a sickly aftertaste.
Whyhave PG Tips ruined their tea, I don’t understand why you would change a great tasting tea for a something that’s utterly undrinkable.
Massively disappointed and I know my friends and family feel the same. I would love to know who tested the flavour.

I've been drinking PG tips for over 40 years, now they change the shape (the square ones stick together and I keep picking up 2 instead of one) and the taste is awful. Leave the bag in more than a few seconds and the tea is very dark and tastes stewed, take it out early so the colour looks right and there is no taste at all. Dreadful. Sadly I'll not be buying them again. (Unless they come to their senses and go back to the pyramid shape and old formula).
