Peter Harrington offers an excellent and thoughtfully curated selection across many areas: modern first editions, rare books, and collectible titles of all kinds. Their website is clear, easy to navigate, and well structured, and the option to reserve items before visiting or ordering is extremely helpful.
What truly makes the experience special, though, is the team. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about books. Annabel in particular has been fantastic — she not only knows a great deal about the field, but also clearly loves books, and that enthusiasm shows. She gives thoughtful, honest guidance and makes the whole process enjoyable, whether you’re searching for something specific or just exploring.
Their packaging and international shipping are also excellent. Every book I’ve ordered has been packed with great care and has arrived safely.
When I first walked into the Dover Street shop, I expected a very posh atmosphere where I might feel out of place. Instead, I discovered a welcoming environment where it doesn’t matter whether you are spending a little or a lot — you are treated with respect and real attentiveness.
Overall, Peter Harrington is a truly enjoyable place to visit and buy books. Highly recommended.
