We have found their accountability for their actions and follow through very wanting. Not following through on what they say they will do, and being very defensive when they are called out on it. Not once apologising or admitting fault. With quite an arrogant attitude. Look elsewhere.
Peninsula have approached us too explain our review. here are my rough notes. Sorry just dictated these so possibly not the greatest but they wanted them. I actually don't want to waste any more time than I already have on this. I'm a business owner myself and would not normally do a review as everyone has the occasional bad day, if they had just apologised just once...
Peninsula notes. We were a client for five years when we got to about four months before the end of our contract. They called a couple of times to see if we needed any assistance and interesting that we’ve never really had any calls before that even when they changed owners and we didn’t access our files for quite a long time when we did want to access them, we couldn’t because they had changed systems. No one let us know. It took a couple of days for them to work out where our files even were no apologies at any point.
It’s reasonable to expect us to remember the fine print five years later that we needed to give one month notice .
They would not initially negotiate this with us or let us out of the contract holding us to the five years yet several months out from the five years, they contacted us multiple times, but only sent us one email reminder to Hannah who was overseas at the time and only to Hannah, yet we both signed the contract to remind us that we needed that that our term was coming up, so very hypocritical on the contact times and not very professional we thought so when we did say we wanted it out they were a little bit arrogant.
One of the people tried to make good with us and told Sam who is an authority on the account that that someone would be in contact with them to show them how to get the most out of our service, particularly the health and safety, and that they would fit in with our flexibility. This person failed to call when they said they would . when they did they didn’t turn up to the first meeting and then after that were not very inflexible in their times and said basically this is the time I’ve got hurry up or else I’ll be full and won’t be able to fit you in again. We have this in writing. When we did try to access our files, our access had been cut off. no apology at any time from anyone to say like I’m sorry we miscommunicated or I’m sorry you misinterpreted it. Each time around here that we had an issue your staff member put the blame back on us each time. No customer service there whatsoever we asked to take it further and then we’ve got that but again just arrogance from the fact that there was at no time that they apologised when one of the person did not what they said they would . I think they failed to turn up or follow up. it’s just their attitude like we’re not gonna let you out and yet they sent us one email reminder to one of us not both of us. I just think it’s rude and we don’t wanna be with you but we are not paying to get out then we were told we would have one months free fees while we can sort our options they stitook that money out of our account and again did not follow through with what they said, nor did anyone apologize .
I was expecting to finally finish my 3-year term with Peninsula on 19/05. Instead, I discovered they considered the contract automatically renewed because of a reminder email I believe was poorly presented and easy to miss among the many marketing emails they regularly send.
The subject line: “Peninsula will continue to service...” which, in my view, does not clearly communicate that it is an important contract renewal notice requiring action.
In the past when a renewal was coming up the subject line of the email was : "Renewal Reminder"
Why was this changed??
As a result, I missed their cutoff date to advise I did not wish to continue by only four days.
I am now being told I must pay 30% of a new 3-year contract to cancel.
My experience has been that this type of business practice feels unfair, overly aggressive, and lacking transparency.
Having now read other reviews describing very similar experiences, it appears I am not the only customer to encounter this issue. I intend to continue pursuing the matter further with the commerce commission, and small disputes tribunal next.
I’ve worked with Kathleen Ferguson today for my health and safety for the business. Kathleen was very resourceful, patient and explained things really well, to work best as possible given the complexities of plant, equipment and machinery I use, work activities and processes involved. I appreciate all the help and advice she has provided. Thank you Kathleen.

Cold callers trying to sell my business services that we don't need, trying to set up virtual meetings for over a year.
Trying to say we need to buy into their employment and health and safety contracts, pushy sales tactics trying to befriend you to get sales.
Would not recommend!
