Terrible experience at this hotel. Charged our room a $500 smoking fee when we did not smoke. We tried to talk to them and let them know we turned on the room heater which produced a horrible burning smell. Management refused to discuss this issue with us and produced a fake “reading” from a smoke detector. Did the same thing with the room across the hall from us. Will never stay here again.

I would leave 0 if possible I cancelled 1 of the 2 days I originally booked and was told I would receive a refund after calling over and over 3 months later never recieved a dime was told it was a malfunction and they would work through it but they lied over and over about the refund... you will not get your money back once you have paid them. It is not the hotels fault but OYO they do not honor there stated policies

I paid for a room through priceline online. On checkout, there was no mention of a $ 50.00 security deposit paid in cash at the hotel before check-in. I arrived and I did not have the money. I could not get the room I paid for and I missed my job interview the following morning. I was outside in the freezing cold all night. I can't get a refund because it's a non refundable room. So you people stole my money and got paid for the room that was never used. I will never use oyo ever again. You people really suck

Roach infested dive
No refunds, roach infested, holes in the walls, parking lot smelled of marijuana so strong that we could smell it in the room, people loitering in the parking lot making noise until 2 am, TV did not work, and a $50 cash deposit required before check-in. The key did not work and had to be reset twice. We booked a 2 day stay and left after the first night. The pictures did not match the outside of the building. Houston location on Katy dr.

The hotel owner demanded i pay more than what i already paid online. While on the phone with priceline.com, the hotel owner demanded i leave the property or he would call the police. I did nothing wrong. I do not drink or use drugs. I only asked that i be given a took which i already paid for.

Price jumped in 20 minutes from time I called till the timer I arrived.
Desk person not the same as person on phone(guessing call center).

he kept trying to explain to me the rules about having animals in the room and service animals and I kept trying to tell him I did not have a dog I did not have a cat I did not have green eggs and ham therefore I don't care to hear about the animal policy
he informed me my deposit would be returned to me upon review of room immediately. it was not it was charged to my card .don't know if that's ever coming back.
furniture look like it was all from old garage sales the pictures on the site must have been all in an illustrated room because my room looked nothing like it.
The manager was rude to me and hung up when I called a few days later to ask about the deposit. A couple days more and they're calling my phone at 10:00 p.m.

Worst hotel ever
First off, I reserved a room one month in advance. 3 days before arriving, they cancelled my reservation. Called twice and put on hold both times and completely ignored. Had to go on line and re-book at $5 more. So now the room. No refrigerator, no telephone and no coffee pot. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my 65 yrs of life. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

If I could give Zero Stars I would. We made a reservation due to evacuation of our area in Florida and did not have time to check review. Upon arriving last night with several other people that thought they had reservations only to find nobody around to check in and the phone number was disconnected. These people should be prosecuted for preying on people that are fleeing this hurricane. They also did this in another hotel further up the interstate.
Elevators Out of Order- 1 service elevator
Booked here since it was close to our friend’s resort. They gave us the 9th floor, only the service elevator was working for almost the entire 5 days. We almost missed dinner reservations with our friends because we waited for 25 minutes and the elevator never stopped on our floor. This started happening consistently, when they offered to change floors, we were already 30 minutes late for our dinner. They said they couldn’t hold the room on the second floor, we said we’ll try tomorrow. We did end up changing rooms, the tub was not very clean, rooms had chunky dust buildup on the walls or under the bathroom sink. Our second floor room was near the stairs, those stairs did not have access to the lobby, and we were asked multiple times a day how to get to the lobby, which was the opposite stairwell from our room. We learned the owner, who we were told is from India, is not going to spend money to fix the elevators. The service elevator started acting funny and they were limiting it to five or six guests at a time and when the line was down the hallway, it was very time-consuming to get in and out of the hotel. The property is next-door to the Tropicana, which is in the process of being torn down. I did not mind the view of the destroyed parking lot, The staff was as friendly as they could be. We considered moving hotels entirely, but we had plans for all of the days and when we had two days left we figured what was the point. We also learned since the California A’s baseball team’s stadium is going to be where the Tropicana was the owner is just waiting to sell the hotel when that happens. I heavily recommend you stay somewhere else, the actual elevators were only running for a couple of hours on our third day.
Zero tolerance cancelation policy
I reserved my room and within seconds realized I had the wrong date, they refused to refund and blacked out all weekend dates for me to change my reservation. When i spoke with the owner of the hotel he was more than happy to cancel my reservation with no fee but OYO said absolutely not. They canceled with a fee of the entire amount of the stay.
Highly concerning ethical business practices
I want to draw attention to an unfortunate experience I encountered with OYO Hotel Dundee By Crystal Lake. I made a reservation for a room from Aug 17, 2024, to Aug 18, 2024, but upon arrival, I found the office closed and could not check-in. Subsequently, my attempt to address the issue with customer service resulted in a partial refund of $6 out of the $81 I had been charged, along with an unexpected cancellation fee of $75.92. Despite my efforts to seek clarification, the company's responses have been unsatisfactory. Each interaction with their customer service team, characterized by a discernible overseas location due to a heavy accent and background noise, has left me feeling unheard and uncertain about the resolution of my case.
Moreover, their repeated attributions of the delay to technical issues and a transfer of my case to another department have only exacerbated my concerns. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and am inclined to believe that the company's actions may not align with ethical business practices. I intend to pursue appropriate channels to address this matter and caution others against engaging with this establishment. I remain hopeful for a prompt and fair resolution, and I am prepared to reconsider my assessment should the situation be satisfactorily rectified.
NIGHTMARE OF AN EXPERIENCE
FL USA - Booked for two nights at the OYO Townhouse West Orlando (Ocoee) FL as it was the closest hotel to my daughter. Had my 2 and 4 year old grandkids. We immediately noticed how noisy it was. I asked to be put on the top floor in the back of the building Nothing available except the 2nd floor and right next to the laundry room. people were talking in the hallway until I called the front desk after midnight. WE couldn't sleep. They just came right back out of their rooms. Floors had no carpet so you could hear everything. Room next door checked in at 3am and made such a racket, dropping stuff, talking loudly. We slept from 3:30 to 5:00am when they started in again. At 7am, I made the decision to contact another hotel and get the H out of there. Went to take a shower - the back of the shower head was broken, the tile was broken and went to wash the kids feet and they were filthy. Checked mine too - apparently, the floors were disgusting. I told the front desk about our situation and they told me they could move me to the top floor in the back - I laughed at them. I had to pay for the full two nights and then immediately contacted OYO customer service and filed a complaint. They told me that the front desk said there was no one in the halls - LIARS and that since they offered me another room, they weren't liable. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to start a dialogue. Finally, they offered me $118 back of the $297 I paid. Not quite one nights worth, but better than nothing. That was on July 4. Since then, they have refused to email either the BBB or myself back. You can't get in touch with any real problem solving person at OYO. You can't voice your complaint to any of the high level executives. I've tried all sorts of combination emails for the Founder Ritesh and they all come back undeliverable. Rightly so since OYO sucks so bad. BTW, I found a really nice hotel a couple of miles further away, super clean, friendly offered breakfast and paid less for the night than at OYO. IF anyone has a viable email address of someone higher level, please share. They need to know what is going on at the hotel levels.

I booked the reservation with this hotel and was told once I got there my reservation was canceled I called customer service and several occasions and they hang hung up in my face all I want was to get my money back I should have known when I first arrive just how bad this place was it was nasty and dirty on the outside so I can't figure what the rooms may look like. I will suggest no one makes any plans to stay at these hotels for their thieves robbers and rude

The floors were dirty. The hotel is run down. The bathroom smelled like urine. I called the office 3 times to get extra pillows. I finally went down there to get them. The toilet seat was broken. Phone did not work. I asked for a handicaproom and did not get one. I would have left if i wasn't so tired.

Do N̈OT book with these shady thieves I made a booking on the app for a friend of mine, she gets there and is told there is a 100 deposit, I WAS NOT aware of any kind of deposit as I made the booking. No mention whatsoever, I called the "customer" service, and after I lost my temper they just hung up on me. Told me it clearly states on the website there's a 100 deposit for a negative 10 star hotel. But makes zero mention of any deposit on the app, why would I book on the website if there is an app? Absolutely total bull and oyo should be ashamed, but they won't be cause their just like every corporate company in our dumpster fire of a country, that's dirty, it SHOULD CLEARLY state on the APP as well as THE WEBSITE how in any way shape or form is that okay F@## you oyo.

My Husband had a seizure on the way to the OYO airport hotel in Rockford Illinois and we were forced to stay a night of the stay at a hospital over an hour from the hotel. I called and explained the situation to the hotel, and asked that the room be held as we would be arriving the next day. When we arrived the following day the room had been given to someone else the night before and there were no other clean and available rooms. The manager was polite and said a full refund would be given, only after numerous attempts to contact OYO, no one has responded and none of the money paid for the room was returned. So not only did we not get to use the room, they charged twice for it. ABSOLUTE CROOKS, sleep in your car before you risk bed bugs and theft.
Incorrectly charged a smoke detection fee of $453.00
I stayed at Oyo Las Vegas on May 23rd and 24th. I checked out on the 25th and on the 26 I noticed a $453.00 charge on my debit card. I called to see what this charge was for and was told it was for smoking in the room which never happened. I was told they had a smoke detector report so I asked that they send it to me and realized that I had checked out of the room hours before smoke was detected. I informed the property of this and they said they would check surveillance and get back to me. I didn't hear from them so I called several times. This property may or may not answer the phone. At any rate I spoke with a manager who informed me that I would get a refund. When I asked how this could have happened he said the housekeeper must have smoked in the room hours after I checked out. I did get a refund about 4 days later. Ridiculous experience. Never again.
Scammed
called OYO for a room, booked through their central number and prepaid $68 as required prior to arrival. When we arrived we were informed that there were no rooms available. The clerk stated he had no ability to issue a refund and refused to help find a room (even within their own company). I called the main customer service number and asked for a full refund. I was given $3 back, being charged a $65 cancellation fee. Two other families came in directly after me and were given the same answer. No rooms despite already having paid, no refunds. This company is a scam.
