I believe OYNB was established around 2015, and I joined in 2017 after seeing it discussed on a BBC prime-time show. It came at a great time, as I was becoming aware that I was drinking just a little too much.

The aim is to improve one’s relationship with alcohol by being clear about the reasons for wanting to change and recognising the benefits of not drinking,

It can be a tough call, not to drink with such immense peer pressure, continually surrounded by a drinking culture. BUT bit by bit, once you put some distance between drinking and sobriety the fog begins to clear and you can then make an informed judgement about whether to continue to go back to the old ways of drinking or to adopt a new lifestyle, following sound principles set out in the programme.

Given that everyone’s situation is unique, the community aspect of the programme is powerful, enabling connections to be made with like-minded people and support and encouragement throughout.

I’ve seen many changes as OYNB has developed. The latest transformation being to move away from Facebook to a community-based membership platform Mighty Networks. I see this as a positive by cutting out the distractions and noise on Facebook.

Approaching 8 years alcohol free - It is life changing.

Sad that changes are happening but I must say OYNB has helped me tremendously that shouldn't be forgotten - OYNB has transformed lives and that should be celebrated.

Life changing. Best decision I have EVER made in my life was to take the OYNB challenge!! For every person who drinks alcohol..this should be mandatory training!

OYNB has over the years been a life saver for countless numbers of people. The number of lives changed goes well beyond the people who have changed their relationship with alcohol. OYNB provides support in a safe environment and thus connection which is the opposite of addiction and without connecting to like minded people, without the support of the OYNB team many would still be struggling and even worse. Ruari, Jen and the OYNB team are simply amazing. They are dedicated to help change the attitude of the world to alcohol and thus rid it of so much misery that alcohol causes. I hope they can continue in some form as the world needs OYNB

Having initially instigated a program of support (paid but affordable/accessible) I joined several years ago now and part of the payment for the program was life time access to the facebook support group which has since become a lifeline for so many.
The past few years have seen this company move further and further away from a model of ethical care and more and more towards a purely money grabbing business model. Only accessible to wealthy people - you can be assured that the nature of the business almost guarantees that the most vulnerable are affected in life deeply by the struggles these charlatans use to lure people in but most do not have the means to afford this level of financial outlay. But we at least still had our amazing support group. Now they are abolishing this lifeline for absolutely no reason other than greed. Avoid at all costs, these are NOT the support team you are looking for.

It's all about money. The owner has recently expressed that they are struggling with funding which is hard to understand after gloating about raising so much money previously. He's personally emailed me to change the review but I remember his rude comments when I expressed my concern about his focus on money rather than helping. I hope that you can now 'jog on' or words to that nature.

Would it also be possible to check the positive comments to see if they're still members because it would only be fair to check to see if they're eligible to comment. Also, why are you holding all our data after such a long time?

Purchased the 30 day program. They charged me an extra £17 for an audio part that I thought was free and didn’t state the price when you were purchasing just the onyb program. I received 2 emails with an invoice and can’t see anything about the oynb program. I’ve tried to log into the links and all they show is the invoices. Seems like a con to me

I feel cheated

I completed the Complete Control program six months ago and I don't want to sound hyperbolic, but it's the truth: everything in my life has improved. This program didn't just help me reassess my relationship with alcohol - it completely reshaped how I approach life, relationships and parenting.

To be honest, I signed up for this program on a whim. But I truly believe the universe brough me to this program at exactly the right time. I feel more like my true self than I have in years! Best decision of my 2023! I learned that my relationship with alcohol was just a symptom of many burried things. OYNB helped me dig deep, and made me realize I’ve had the tools to do it all along. The guidance of the coaches, the support of the community, and the science behind each step in the workbook were all key to the process. Without it, I just wouldn’t have known where to start.

I am confident to say that after one year in the program, everything in my life has improved: my relationships, my professional purpose, my inner peace, even my body (lost a few lbs). It really has been a life-changing experience.

The Complete Control (CC) program accomplished its goal of enabling me to make informed, positive and intentional choices regarding my use of alcohol. A major victory along the way was going alcohol free on an almost two-week family vacation. For years I have associated drinking with traveling and have incorporated alcohol into almost all aspects of a trip – it was just a given. The last two or three years when I vacationed, I considered going alcohol-free, but was never able to pull it off. I even considered waiting to do CC until after my vacation so I wouldn’t have to choose, but I decided to go ahead with the program and am glad I did. Although the focus is alcohol use, CC addresses multiple lifestyle aspects including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual via several forums - group calls, 1X1 coaching calls and individual exercises. The program also incorporates bio-metrics collected from wearable devices to provide data-driven input. The camaraderie and support from the group and personal calls and the variety of tools and approaches become invaluable through the phase of the program when the participants are encouraged to go alcohol free for a time. Once alcohol is out of the picture the things it covered up start to emerge and having support is essential. Each participant brings their own past and experiences to the program and it meets them where they are. The staff and other participants are always encouraging, never judgmental and always maintain respect for individual choice. I’m not a finished product yet, but CC has moved me much further along the path of continuous self-improvement than I otherwise would have been.

I have abused my body with alcohol since I was a teenager. I always justified my reason to drink- to forget my troubles, to be the party girl, to make life exciting, to fit in, to relax. OneYearNoBeer and the Complete Control program have changed my life. I never thought, in my wildest dreams, that I could go one day without alcohol. However, with the help of this program, the counselors and fellow program members, I can! I chose this program because I could be fairly anonymous and my fellow program members were people like me who are leaders, business owners, and achievers who were struggling with their relationships with alcohol. The science-based approach via the Oura ring and heart monitor helped me see what alcohol does to my body. The program helped me understand why I was drinking so much, and the group sessions ensured I felt supported. I now drink on special occasions, if a choose to do so. And I feel like a million bucks! One of the best decisions, and investments, I have every made.

When I signed up for this program, I was at a point where every day I awoke with regret, shame and fear that I would never get control of my drinking. Having tried other programs/support groups, I was somewhat sceptical that OYNB Complete Control might be any different, however the program appealed to me in many ways. Although an expensive program, after learning more about the program, what to expect and the level of support provided I decided that if it worked for me this would change my life. Well, 12 weeks later and 11 weeks Alcohol free (no willpower needed) already, I can truly say it has. It has been much more than helping me control this sole destroying addiction, all areas of my life have improved. The program content, coaching, data analytics, connections with fellow cohort members etc. has set me on an amazing path. Everyone I have come into contact with has been so lovely, but much more than that, so professional and supportive. All aspects of the program has been so exposing in helping me understand why I was drinking, and the coaching I received from both a trauma and motivational coach has helped me overcome some very deep rooted beliefs. I cannot recommend this program enough.

Great organization, coaching and learning materials. My experience with OYNB over the last 6 years has been life-changing and future-forming. Yes, this comes at a cost but the results for me are priceless.

An extremely clever course, that sows together, Science, psychology, team camaraderie, course work and ultimately ‘re wires’ your brain to a point close to where you were before you had ever touched Alcohol. From drinking very often through habit and using it as a crutch when times were tough, I have now not had as much as a sip in nearly 12 weeks and it’s been relatively easy given the support of OYNB. The goal is not to be abstinent forever, but to be free until Christmas then enjoy a new relationship with Alcohol that I can ‘take or leave it’ which the programme has already given me the Tools to do.
If you are struggling as I was, don’t sit on the fence on this one, action it! I’m fitter than I have been in years and my business has flourished in this short term exponentially.
