Horrible Experience with Optima
Horrible Experience with Optima - AVOID This Company!
I am writing this review to warn others about my terrible experience with Optima. This company is a complete fraud and I want to save you from making the same mistake I did.
I signed up for a AI course with Optima, believing it would be suitable for my level of expertise. However, it quickly became clear that the course was designed for advanced learners, something they conveniently failed to mention during the sales process.
Despite realizing this after the very first class, Optima refused to refund my money. They offered absolutely no support or help to bridge the gap in my knowledge. It felt like they took my money and ran, leaving me completely stranded.
The lack of transparency and the refusal to provide a refund, even after admitting the course wasn't suitable for me, is appalling. This company is dishonest and clearly only interested in taking your money.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Optima. They are a crook company that you should avoid at all costs!

Our team did try to work with you to find a solution. You were offered support to help you settle into the programme and adjust to the material, but you chose not to continue with us. Our courses have an unlimited time frame and our support team work until 10pm, so we're confident that we can help you succeed in this.
We completely understand that some learners can feel uncertain at the start of a new subject. Many students who begin with little or no background progress successfully with the right guidance, and our support teams are in place to help them do exactly that.
We are always open to a conversation if you would like to revisit your options or discuss a pathway that feels more suitable. Our commitment remains the same for every learner: clear information, accessible support and a positive training environment.

Having spent a while with the AWS Academy i had began to feel a little despondent. I had passed an initial certification but lost a little interest. David Hayes and Kim Brook
I had two cohort days with David Hayes and one homework session with Kim Brook. So far I’m very happy and optimistic about my training. I have no previous experience neither in IT or AWS services and I’m impressed of myself how much I managed to learn in those days. David is patient enough and he is trying to explain the classes in understandable way so even a students like are able to absorb, understand and even practice what we’ve learn. Interacting with students and always asks if we have questions or if he needs to clarify the information.
My first homework session with Kim Brook was interesting, interacting and it was fun while we were recapping what we have learned. In addition she the two hours sessions felt like a 5 minutes.
To summarise, I’m happy I stated this course with this guys and really look forward for my next “baby step” (milestone) 🙂

My Experience With Optima IT
I recently enrolled in a training programme with Optima IT. The sales rep, Ali Irki, was very enthusiastic and responsive during sign-up and helped arrange the finance agreement. At that point, everything sounded promising, so I agreed to proceed.
However, after signing up and thinking more carefully, I realised I wasn’t fully sure the course was right for me, so I decided I wanted to cancel. I expected this to be straightforward, as consumers normally have a 14-day cooling-off period.
When I contacted Optima IT, I received an email from Louise, a Resolution Manager, who told me that the 14-day cooling-off period only applies up until the first live lesson. For example; if someone signs up two days before a live lesson, their cooling-off period would not apply — meaning they would have no right to cancel, even though they only just enrolled.
This explanation concerned me, because according to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Regulation 36(1)), a business cannot shorten or remove the statutory 14-day cancellation period unless the consumer has clearly and separately agreed to waive it. I did not sign or provide any express written acknowledgment waiving my cooling-off rights — only the general terms, which do not contain a separate waiver.
When I tried to speak to Ali again, my calls and messages stopped being answered, and it now appears that my number may have been blocked. This was extremely disappointing, especially with a loan attached to the course.
I have raised a formal complaint and I am still waiting on a final response. In the meantime, the situation has caused unnecessary financial and emotional stress.
What I find surprising is the large number of extremely positive reviews online. Personally, I struggled to recognise my experience in those. If you scroll further down, there are other reviews that seem to reflect similar issues to mine. I’d encourage potential students to read a wide range of reviews — not just the top ones — and make up their own minds.
If Optima IT responds to this review, please know that everything I’ve written reflects my genuine personal experience.
Based on what I’ve gone through, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Optima IT:
• request all cancellation and finance information in writing before signing
• ask specifically about the statutory 14-day cooling-off period
• take time to decide without pressure
I genuinely hope the company improves its transparency, communication and complaint handling so that others do not face the same difficulties.

Her support and encouragement were invaluable throughout my certification journey. Thanks to her expertise and mentorship, I was able to successfully complete my certification and am now confidently moving on to my next certification SAA. I've completed sec+ and CPSA with optimas training and I've had great service and expertise with the training they provide. I did all of this while working full time and I've learned a lot considering the amount of spare time I have available, I would highly recommend this company if you're looking to learn more on whichever part of IT you would like to look further into.

Experience was awesome going through registration. Contact (Korin Stone) was patient with me getting me to understand all I needed to know about the course. She was really the reason I was convinced the course was a great one and I never regretted that decision. What went wrong is you say one to one…
What went wrong is you say one to one ,then you say the students are not children ,you say we can help you so much , we can show you videos, we can provide groups and big learning platforms, so you can chat and even help each other from different places, WHERE IS THE ONE TO ONE ? So think good 👍🏽 if you want to drown begging for support and guidance, because once you sign up with them , they have 4 live session, you could get ignored and then you are left to rot to be fair , boasting about how much they pay one worker , but do not give you the opportunity to get that chance to earn that type of salary, selfish people do not get too far as the selfishness holds them back a bit ,to allow them to change and correct their words of SUPPORT.

The best Place to learn
I have been with Optima for a few years now. Even myself struggling with time and personal reasons this guys at Optima are always ready to help. Over this years I need to thanks to all of the instructors involved and he team on CS . They are all doing amazing on leading the students to the best practice. I want to give a big shout out to Kim that knowing that she now works for optima she was before that spending her own time to help everyone in this academy with all the sessions on her OWN time ( let me repeat again ) .
