Anna was fantastic assisting us with putting together our dream trip for Botswana and Victoria Falls. Really patient and consistently constructive tailoring it to our budget and somewhat complex needs. We were planning for 2023 but had to postpone the trip until 2024 and she was very kind and generous about that. We absolutely love what she has planned and can’t wait to do it in 2024.

We have just returned from a 3-night stay at Nxamaseri Island Lodge in the Okavango panhandle followed by a 3-night stay at Kanana in the Okavango Delta itself. The trip was awesome! Okavango Delta Explorations attended to every detail and ensured that we did not need to think about any of our travel arrangements. At Nxamaseri Island Lodge, we caught the barbel run and had amazing Tiger Fish and barbel fishing, whereas Kanana provided us the opportunity for excellent game and bird viewing. The 2 lodges were an ideal match for us. It was truly the ideal getaway - thank you to Anna from Okavango Delta Explorations!

Our trip of a lifetime did not disappoint! In fact it was even more amazing than we ever thought it could be. We had to postpone this honeymoon trip for two years due to COVID.The staff at all four camps treated us like newlyweds which made our trip very special indeed. As we arrived at each camp, there was staff singing to greet us. The accommodations were outstanding from the size of the cabins to the linens and towels. There was privacy and a stocked fridge, daily laundry service and even early morning coffee service brought to our room! The food was delicious, complex and there were always multiple choices. We enjoyed the chefs coming to our table describing the dinner choices. Our ranger and trackers (in all three camps except Shinde) were so helpful and knowledgeable spotting animals from far away. We appreciated the service and genuine pride of the Botswanan people. We saw so much game and witnessed lions, leopards and a cheetah consuming its prey! Amazing!

We had a wonderful time spent on safari in Botswana and South Africa.

Great tailored service for a 1-week safari in Botswana as well as 4 days in Cape Town. Definitely recommend! We stayed at 3 very different lodges and enjoyed amazing experiences such as sleeping under the stars, see all the wildlife in various settings and habitats and in a private reserve setting (max 2 jeeps at the same time in the same place, around 5 across all reserve). In South Africa, we did an incredible 1-day hike to Table Mountain, 1-day tour to Cape of Good Hope and city bike tour! Great restaurant/hotel/vineyard recommendations as well!

We have just returned from 8 days in Botswana and can’t rave enough about the experience and the excellent guidance we got from Louise at Okavango Delta Explorations. Louse helped us pick 3 camps to stay at, all offering slightly different experiences. One in the Game Reserve, one in a private concession and one in the Kalahari. We enjoyed game drives (with 4 people max in the jeeps), speed boat rides in the Delta, walks in the wild, and an afternoon with Bushmen! The Guides at the camps were excellent and the lodges were absolutely beautiful. Staff at all the camps spoiled us all day and they just seemed so happy to be there and happy to share their worlds with us. Cannot wait to go back!

We went on the 17-day Leopard Mobile Safari. Although it was tough to sleep in a tent on the ground and maintain an active game drive schedule, the experience was worth it. We saw so many animals up close, including lions, leopards, Cape buffalo, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, honey badgers, warthogs, baboons, incredible birds (hornbills, storks, fish eagles, pelicans, spoonbills), and antelope of all sorts. I wouldn't want to do a safari any other way - we were immersed in the wild. The stars at night were spectacular. And every sunrise and sunset was picture-perfect. Our guide and cook were skilled and professional and a lot of fun. I learned a lot and enjoyed the very real adventure.

I worked directly with Louise Fitzgerald and she is fantastic. She is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and has impeccable taste. She is also very hard working. She helped design a phenomenal trip for my family of 6 to South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique very quickly without any compromise. She is an excellent listener and creative problem solver. She is a joy to work with.

We’ve worked with Okavango Delta Explorations a few times now in planning our holidays and each time it’s a dream. The holidays are tailor made and a truly magical experience, I can only recommend! We had a great experience working with Okavango Delta Explorations. The trip they facilitated went off smoothly and the accommodations were excellent. All transfers were smooth. We were well prepared for the experience and visited 3 camps in Botswana. It is great to be traveling again-- very safe and just a wonderful experience.

Louise was an absolute lifesaver when it came to planning our family trip to Africa. I had no idea where to begin and thank god I came across Okavango Delta Explorations. Louise suggested the most wonderful safari camps for my family and organised everything from camp reservations and bush flights to our dietary needs. She gave us very honest and detailed explanations of the camps as well as safari locations. We spent six days in Okavango in two different camps and then three days in Cape Town. Everyone was so friendly and our camps were so well equipped and the food was absolutely delicious. We saw so many animals and the sunsets were gorgeous. We went on a thrilling helicopter ride, which was recommended by Louise, and were very grateful she did! Louise also helped organise our stay in Cape Town including hotel location to a Great White Shark excursion.

Everything was so seamless and every detail was incorporated into our itinerary. Louise was truly the most patient, kind, and knowledgable guide we could have asked for. Louise was also always reachable via mobile when I had (many) last minute questions. I can't recommend her enough. I am looking forward to planning another trip to Africa with Louise and Okavango Delta Explorations. Truly one of the most epic trips we have ever been on and that is all thanks to Louise!

My partner and I were dealt with by Louise who put together a fantastic package for us. We arranged our own international and local flights to Maun from Johannesburg but the itinerary in the Okavango delta included inter-camp flights in tiny propeller planes which were included in the total cost.
The camps were first class - not super posh but extremely comfortable with great food and an open bar! And a splash pool! The early morning and afternoon rides with amazingly knowledgeable guides and trackers were incredible with all the wild game imaginable. Staff at the camps were extremely friendly and efficient. Meal times were fun, meeting travellers from all over the world. There was a siesta time from 12 noon to 3pm for relaxing, reading, swimming or even having a nap. Okavango Delta Explorations helped make this the trip of a lifetime for us and we can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you Louise!

Over the past year she helped me plan my dream trip to the Okavango Delta, tirelessly answering all my questions and concerns as I was traveling solo was a bit nervous.
She recommended the Ker and Downey camps of which I stayed at Dinaka in the Kalahari and Okuti, Kanana and Shinde in the Delta.
Every camp was 5stars plus. Lovely staff who genuinely made me feel like family. No comfort or convenience was overlooked, food very good and enjoyable safari activities.
When asked how I enjoyed my trip my answer is Magical even better than I expected.

When I started exploring options for visiting Southern Africa I contacted several safari companies to discuss what I had in mind, the areas I hoped to visit, and the budget. With so many companies offering similar services it seemed that it might be hard to know which one to choose. What I quickly realized was that safari companies are far from equal. Most of the companies came back with proposals that didn’t align with our wish list or ignored our budget. Louise with Okavango Delta Explorations was the first person who truly listened to me. I learned how valuable it is to work with someone who cares about your itinerary as much as you do. From our first conversation I felt very comfortable working with Louise. She has firsthand knowledge and experience with the lodges in the areas we wanted to visit, and she made very thoughtful suggestions. Louise created a fantastic itinerary that included Pioneers Lodge at Victoria Falls, Chobe Savanna Lodge in Namibia, Camp Xakanaxa in the Okavango Delta, and Leroo La Tau near Makgadikgadi National Park. Our experiences at these camps absolutely exceeded our expectations. The staff at each of these lodges was very friendly and attentive, the accommodations were wonderful, and the guides and game viewing were truly exceptional. Louise stayed in contact with us in the months leading up to our safari, keeping us apprised of changes in COVID requirements and with any other updates. Our travels between the camps were all coordinated by Louise, and everything went very smoothly. We flew into Kasane for a 10 day Safari that included stops and Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Xakanaxa, and Xugana Island Lodge. We had outstanding guides and the staff at each location were wonderful. This is a totally different experience from a big lodge like Amboseli (Kenya). These camps are small, intimate, and the guests and guides eat together. The wildlife and birds were incredible. We saw lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, hippos, impalas, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, giraffes, and more. Most of the sightseeing is done by jeep or boat. However, at Xugana, you can hike in the bush with guides - this was one of the highlights of the trip. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. In fact, I left my cell phone on an airplane flight (between Chobe and Savute), and our guide made some calls, and the phone was back to me the next day.

A belated thank you to Louise for all the wonderful advice and planning she did for my trip to Botswana. It was a trip of a lifetime.

At the beginning of 2022 I decided to go on a solo trip to southern Africa. I was in Namibia in 2019 and in South Africa in 2021 and am hooked on going on safari. This time I wanted to focus on observing wildlife and photography. I was debating whether to go to Kenya/Tanzania or Botswana. I did an internet search for photography safaris and travel agents to those countries in general and read lots of webpages on various organizations and opportunities. I liked what I read on Okavango Delta Explorations' website and reached out through their contact page. Louise contacted me and the rest is literally history. She asked great questions to find out what kind of safari I was interested in and recommended visiting 3 areas: the Kalahari, Okavango Delta, and Chobe. She identified a couple of photography safaris and recommended a mobile safari offered by Letaka Safaris. I ended up spending 3 nights in Nxai Pan exploring the Kalahari desert, 9 nights on the mobile safari through the Okavango Delta and 4 nights at the Pangolin Photography Lodge exploring the Chobe River. Each lodge/camp was fabulous - the guides, staff, food and game drives.

At one point I was seriously considering a trip to Kenya/Tanzania and I asked Louise to convince me to go to Botswana. She did and the other travel agent didn't so she got my business. I'm so glad I went to Botswana.

Louise put together a very detailed itinerary that I accessed via a mobile app. She handled all travel reservations. All of my connections once in Africa were easy.

It was easy to contact Louise by email or phone before, during and after my trip.

We had a great experience on our honeymoon, the team selected a great mix of lodges that gave us a mix of calm, exclusivity, buzz and most of all great opportunities to see the animals! All the lodges were super welcoming and the Okavango Delta Explorations team made our trip come together with extremely short notice, also helping us when last minute changes threw everything up in the air again. Top notch experience!

We had a fabulous time in the Okavanago Delta. The arrangements were meticulous and impeccable, and the follow through by staff and guides at the camps were superb. Some of our party had mobility and dietary restrictions, but these were all accommodated beautifully. This is a lifetime experience that is highly recommended. Everyone from top to bottom will work to make sure you have a pleasant and memorable experience.

We got in touch with Louise about a 10 day trip to Botswana mid-pandemic (November 2021) with only a couple of weeks' notice. We gave a detailed brief and emphasised that we were looking for excellent guiding and despite our limited budget, Louise came back to us with an outstanding proposal that perfectly matched what we were looking for. We stayed at three camps over 8 nights and all were excellent with extremely knowledgeable guides, comfortable accommodations and outstanding wildlife viewing opportunities.

Kwando camps (Lagoon, Pom Pom and Splash) were the perfect choice for us and allowed us to explore the Delta and witness some world class animal encounters. We saw a full wild dog hunt, over 40 different lions including cubs and a kill, leopards, cheetah and civets and African wild cats. As a keen birder, I was particularly happy with the quality of bird knowledge from the guides.

Louise was extremely responsive and helpful in helping us with additional restaurant and accommodation recommendations in Maun for which we wanted to keep costs down on. When the Omicron variant reared its head towards the end of our stay, Louise got in touch with the camp to inform us of the changes and was very helpful in coming up with suitable travel arrangements to get us home.

Overall, I couldn't recommend ODE highly enough - thorough specialism, excellent speed of response and attention to detail in planning. Make sure to book your next Africa trip with them!
