If you are transferring substantial sums and do not mind waiting for at least two business days for funds to be cleared, OFX should be for you, their rate is much better than banks can offer.
Bank transfer is faster, but you lose on conversion rates.
Wise is not an option for larger sums, they don't give quotes beforehand.
I have not tried any other service, I don't even know who else operates in AU/NZ space.

This was my first experience of using OFX and like many people didn't read the small print and made a mistake of inputting a random amount , not realizing it was legally binding , however on,explanation to support was cancelled , 10 stars to support .

The transactions were delivered promptly and at a good rate from our point of view.

We were previously users of your platform during the OzForex days in 2020 but discontinued our use at the time due to limited UI and platform Xero integration. Recently, noticed the improvements and promising integrations the new platform now offers, which encouraged us to re-engage with OFX.

Following our registration for a demo with Luke C., we were informed that our existing account would need to be reactivated. We promptly provided all the updated details required for reactivation on 29th March.

However, as of today, 23rd April, we have yet to receive confirmation of our account being migrated. Despite multiple follow-up attempts via phone and email, we have only received repeated assurances that the process will be completed “next week,” without any tangible progress.

Seems like the OFX today is great on marketing the new platform but not so great on the customer service. Ended up with AIRWALLEX which also seems to also do the job. Good Luck.

I booked an research international wire transfer on April 7th.
After 11 days of constant phone calls and entering in my bank details, they still failed to do a penny credit test.
The deal expired April 15 yet on April 14 they said they would do a penny test credit which would take a few days. Then they canceled the deal and had the gall to send me an email on April 17th congratulating me on a successful transfer.

Sheer incompetence and a waste of 10 days and they were completely unable to help me.

I’d only done one transfer with OFX before this and this one was a large transfer so I was very nervous about it. I had a couple of things that I didn’t check like my bank’s daily transfer limit, so had to send funds in two batches but OFX customer service were brilliant and stepped me through everything. That was the the most reassuring element, that you could call with any worries.
In under 2 days it was sorted - would recommend OFX to anyone.

Assyl was very helpful and a pleasure to work with in getting my deals done. Her knowledge and support was really helpful and I would certainly recommend her to any person wishing to do business with OFX. This was in contrast to my initial experience which left me seriously wondering whether to proceed with my deals due to the number of onerous compliance requests that were made to what was a fairly simple and open transaction. Assyl saved the day and deserves a “pat on the back”

I normally use a Limit order to transfer my Pension from Canada to Australia.
Unfortunately, I needed some money quickly, so I did an immediate transfer. This meant that there were insufficient funds when the limit order activated a week later.
OFX was kind to this pensioner to cancel the limit order when I called and explained the situation.
What a relief, as I would not have the Canadian funds required to meet the order until my pension was paid again next quarter.

Quick and efficient with good retail rates.

I deal with OXF 2 to 3 times a month to transfer funds overseas. I usually deal with Lino Lardiei in Sydney. He is very friendly, helpful and efficient, making transferring funds very quick and trouble free.
