Tallow & Raw Honey Face Balm Stinks
Tallow & Raw Honey Face Balm says it is unscented but then why does it smell like old milk? Enough to make me gag. Like the smell of an old carpet that's not had milk cleaned properly from it. False advertising and especially annoying when the price is so expensive, you would expect it to be unscented like it is sold to be.

We’re sorry the aroma has been so unpleasant for you. We completely understand that when something is described as unscented, you may expect there to be no noticeable smell at all.
Our Unscented Face Balm doesn’t contain any added fragrance or essential oils. Since it’s made primarily with beef tallow, you can naturally notice more of the tallow aroma. The scented versions contain Lavender, Red Mandarin or Sweet Orange, with a subtle fragrance alongside the natural tallow aroma.
If you’re open to trying one of our scented balms, we’d be happy to arrange one for you, as you may find the aroma more to your liking.

I so wanted to love this product - I don’t.
I so wanted to love this product. However, despite following guidelines and suggestions for use, it’s way too heavy and the smell makes me nauseous. The face balm is still mostly sat on my face the morning after the night before, I see no change in my overall appearance. Maybe my skin was already at its’ optimum moisture wise? The body balm is just terrible, my neighbour’s dogs won’t stop trying to lick my legs! I smelled like lard, it didn’t fade until I washed it off (with plenty of soap, it was so greasy). It also just sat on my skin, I used it in the morning and in the evening it was still leaving marks on the furniture - all this and I’d only used around half a teaspoon. I looked into returning the product, but like a d!ck I didn’t read the small print - I’d bought a bundle and they only refund for a single jar purchase.

Have I been conned???
They sent the wrong order for starters. There wasnt any freebies included as promised. The product leaves a greasy feeling on the face which lasts the whole day and becomes uncomfortable. It would also appear that it is a Chinese product and not Scottish as remarkably similar products can be found on Temu and Ali Express and also Amazon all at much cheaper prices. I cant help but feel I have been conned.

As for the greasy feeling, our balms are very concentrated, so a little really does go a long way. We recommend using just a pea-sized amount, warming it between your hands until it melts into an oil, then gently pressing or massaging it into the skin. This can make a big difference in how the balm feels and absorbs.
We’d also like to reassure you that our products are made here in Scotland. We manufacture, package, and fulfil all of our orders ourselves in Stirling, Scotland. We can’t comment on products sold by other retailers, but our balms are made by us here in Scotland.

Really disappointed with this product…
Really disappointed with this product as definately not suitable for sensitive skins. Within minutes of applying the balm, my face felt as if it was on fire. I had to wash it off immediately; my skin remained red and sore for hours.I'm gratefull absorbtion was pooras I wouldn't have wanted the balm to go deeo into my pores.

Forget every other moisturizer for your face & body & just buy from this company!
The body balm not only smells beautiful, it's really effective - you initially think it's going to be greasy but the skin just drinks it up, leaving a slight sheen which looks lovely. You can get dressed immediately without worrying about residue & your skin feels soft & supple for hours.
The face balm is also excellent. I use it morning & night on my face & neck & I can see that I look better, also had many family & friends comment on how well I look (for someone who's had chronic ill health for many years, this isn't something I'm used to hearing)
The brown 'age spots' on my face have definitely lightened which is a marvellous added benefit - I've spent hundreds of pounds on so many products in an attempt to get rid of them, none of which have ever worked!

Don’t like the smell
I ordered the body balm and the smell on my skin after an hour was very unpleasant and I really felt very unclean with the tallow smell. Initially it smells nice. But wears off quickly.
Contacted NX1 about the smell and they agreed to refund me.

Love the mandarin silk face balm
Love the mandarin silk face balm. I’m really beginning to feel the difference after using for a couple of weeks.
For me, the unscented face balm has a faint but slightly unpleasant smell and so I will use up on my legs and feet so it’s not too near my nose. Good to see that’s there’s now an orange scented body balm. I might recommend the scented versions if you have a good sense of smell.

Works really well but the smell is the problem.
I purchased the unscented but it smells of lard. Ive added a scent to it but the smell is still there .

Our Unscented Balm doesn’t contain any essential oils or added fragrance, so you can naturally notice more of the tallow aroma. Even when another scent is added separately, the underlying tallow smell can still come through because tallow is the main ingredient.

Delivery etc was great but I’m not keen…
Delivery etc was great but I’m not keen on the product. Once the scent wears off I smelt like beef dripping. Not pleasant at all. It sits on top of the skin rather than being absorbed and just made me feel greasy and shiny. Unfortunately, it’s not for me.

I purchased a mix of 5 face and body…
I purchased a mix of 5 face and body balms, including the scent free version for my grandsons severe eczema. He uses the usual hospital medications, but we wanted to try the NX1 tallow balm as an additional treatment (when a baby suffers, you’ll try everything!!). The mix of almond oil for hydration, raw honey as an antiseptic, and the tallow for moisture barrier sounded promising. We have to say the results have been really positive- his face is less red and itchy and so much calmer than before. As a result, I’ve just placed a second order. We know it won’t rid him of eczema, but if it helps as part of our arsenal, then we’ll keep using this. I am also using some of the lavender balm for my face at night and mandarin balm during the day. It smells lovely and helps keep my skin hydrated, without feeling or looking too greasy. Highly recommend, tho I wish we could buy larger pots at the rate we use it on my grandson’s eczema!

Sadly the product smells awful
Sadly the product smells awful. Despite being ‘orange scented’ it smells like dripping. My husband thought I had stopped at the pub to get a roast on the way home from work 🤣. Fortunately I only ordered the one pot so will be asking for a refund but honestly it smells like school canteen dinners. Such a shame

Not for me
I loved the smell on opening the jar but now my skin has warmed it up the lovely smell has gone and it smells like beef dipping. I didn’t expect this and now feel I’ve made an expensive mistake. Who wants to smell like that? The product does feel nice but I can’t get past the smell. Seriously wish I hadn’t bought a bundle and trialled it first.

No good at all for me
No good at all for me. My face is so blotchy off it and a patch of dry skin that I've had on my nose has gone so much worse. I think I'm allergic to it. Absolutely gutted as I was so looking forward to a change in my skin.
