The movers seemed more interested in taking breaks than in actually relocating my belongings. They mistreated boxes labeled 'fragile' and even damaged a glass coffee table. To top it all off, they requested a tip despite providing poor service. Definitely avoid this company!

Amerisafe Moving Services and their carrier, S&DJ Moving, owes me a partial delivery of my belongings. The carrier has promised and failed to deliver 15 times now. Over 10k in damages, 25 business days past the first delivery date and half of our items are still missing. Amerisafe keeps ignoring us and pushing any complaints off. Most of the boxes we paid to pack are between 1/2 to 3/4 full, and most of the breakables we have were wrapped in paper towels or tablecloths. I have images to back up any claims.

WHEN IT ISTIME TO MOVE MY SUGGESTION IS GO STRAIGHT TO THETRUCKING COMPANY AND DON'T USE BROKERS AS A GO BETWEEN. I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!

I’m absolutely shocked by the reviews. This is the first time I’ve gone with a company that appears to have good reviews, but this was a complete nightmare for me. This company is dishonest based on what they quoted over the phone vs what I ended up paying for the move. Now I’m left feeling like a complete idiot for using these guys. Not to mention the broken and lost items that I will not ever see again. Please take my advice and pass on this company.

How your life can be ruined in no time -
If you're considering using Amerisafe for your moving needs, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. My recent experience with their service was nothing short of a complete disaster, and it's an absolute miracle that I didn’t end up on a reality TV show about moving horrors.
Firstly, the so-called "professionals" arrived hours late, with no apology or explanation. When they finally showed up, they seemed to think that throwing my belongings haphazardly into their truck was acceptable. Spoiler alert: it's not.
The damage inflicted upon my property was both extensive and inexplicable. Furniture was scratched, and dented, and in one particularly egregious instance, my favorite antique lamp was reduced to a pile of glass shards. And as if that weren’t enough, the broker they used, Cobra Van Lines, managed to lose several boxes. Lost. Not misplaced. Gone. My attempts to contact their customer service resulted in completely unhelpful responses.
To top it all off, the final bill was an unwelcome surprise—nearly double the original quote. No explanation was given. You’d think the unexpected complication would be their inability to perform even the most basic of moving tasks.
In short, if you value your belongings, your sanity, and your wallet, steer clear of Amerisafe AND Cobra Van Lines. They both have redefined the concept of incompetence and provided a masterclass on how not to handle a moving job. Save yourself the headache and find a service that actually understands the meaning of professionalism!! And I know you will tell me to contact customer service to see what you can 'do for me' but we all know you won't do anything.

Formerly National Moving Services (to likely cover their bad reviews and complaints), this company is by far the absolute worst company me or my husband have ever had the misfortune of working with in every single way. I don't even know how to quantify just how awful of a company and the people that work for it are.
They promised one price and then said they had to charge WAY more once they got there for the move even though we gave them correct information on how much we had to move. They showed up with wrong sized trucks and not enough people. We were promised our items the next day. We didn't actually get our items FOR WEEKS, well past their sneaky contracted date of delivery. I was stuck without furniture, clothes, literally anything with a baby and a toddler in tow for weeks and weeks.
They broke every single tote we had, ruined furniture, and DROPPED AND RUINED OUR 15K toolbox. They offered a few hundred dollars to compensate over 20 grand worth of damage. Our food was contaminated by rats. The salesman Colin refused to answer my calls, knowing they are a scam of a business.
Hiring this company was one of the worst decisions we have ever made. I know I'm missing so much. Our move has literally caused PTSD and my brain refuses to remember how terrible it was to work with them. Whatever you do, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE THIS DUMPSTER FIRE OF A COMPANY. They will not do what they say they will do and lie over and over. I wish nothing but the worst for this scam of a company and the dirtbags that work there.

I am going on the record that this was the worst moving experience/delivery I have ever seen. And I spent over $5000 to have this horrible experience.

This type of damage shows a lack of professionalism and needs to be addressed.

I guess I should have known working with a broker who contracts any fly by night company (not the best by any means) was a terrible route to go.

The pick up was a a mess. Crap left all over.
The time for delivery was horrible. Almost 2 weeks!
We found out that the belongings we put on a truck, taken to storage and then put on a truck for transport. We must have not read that there would be this type of chain of custody. This is just an accident waiting to happen and it did.
The amount of damage is unbelievable. It is excessive.
The box the TV was packed in by the movers arrived with a big hole and needless to say it was broken. Can you drivers not read English. Fragile !!! We had not idea the bouncing around your people would do to it/ lack of care. We had to buy a replacement.
The computer has moisture in it and it will not boot. Likely it will need to be replaced., HOW the Hell did it get moisture in it? The box was not even wet upon approval.
The Keurig coffee make was broken in pieces. We needed to buy a replacement.
The sofas had a "solution" on them that was not there. They are now unusable. They were not the best but they we usable. The family cannot sit on those. It is disgusting and smeller awful. We had to replace.
My grandsons bike - one of the wheels it bent. We will have to pay to repair that. Assuming it can be repaired and doesn't need to be replaced.
The wall unit and end table and coffee table had new nicks in them.
Other boxes were busted up.
Other boxes have damp items in them.

What the heck happened? This is totally unacceptable.

Used them for my move from PA to NC. They were to pack and move my storage unit and my old house. They only did the storage unit and they doubled the estimate and demanded payment that day for the additional costs. The move in date was to be 8/8 and even they got to the storage unit they moved it to 8/9.. now it's 8/9 and they cannot give me an update on when my delivery will be.. they just say up to 14 days. For my stuff and no idea where the truck is at all. 2 people were to call me back and no response from them. DO NOT USE, Amerisafe for your moving needs. They outsourced to iMovers and no one will give any answers. I understand the hurricane but that's only 1 day. But no one can give an idea when I'll have my belongings. Ican't stress enough to read the fine print. They will not explain anything to you, they lure you in with a great rate and then double it then demand cash payments for your goods

Do NOT use this service. They told me in the beginning on the phone not a dime over 4,700 to move from MN to AZ, I thought that was a fair price so I went with them. So I had to put 2,300 down, pay 1,200 when the moving company (cobra van lines) picked up my stuff and 1,200 when they dropped it off in AZ. When the moving company came, they said my furniture was bigger than expected and we added one small table to the list. Being that they charged by the cubic foot in the truck, they upped the price from 1,200 to 2,500 on pick up and 2,500 on drop off. They had our stuff loaded and we had nobody else, so said screw it and proceed. A couple of days before they got to AZ, they called and said they had to switch all of our stuff to a smaller trailer because the bigger one wouldn’t be able to get around in the storage units roads, BAM, that will be an extra 900 dollars. SO, what started out as 4,600 in the beginning to Amerisafe and their moving company they hired Cobra Van Lines, ended up being over 8,000. They charge you for everything, STAY AWAY. I would have given them 0 stars, but they wouldn’t let me.

I’m hoping people are reading this BEFORE signing a contract with Amerisafe. RUN away now and don’t look back! This is a scam and turned our move into a complete nightmare! The number one thing I didn’t realize was that they are a broker. Not a moving company. They advertise as a moving company. They are not. They can contract your move to ANY moving company they want and you will have no say in it. In my case they contracted Five Diamond Movers in Las Vegas for our move from AZ to SD. As soon as I was made aware of who they hired to do the move I looked them up and saw the worst reviews I ever saw! I immediately called Colin at Amerisafe (who was quick to take my money but was useless after that) and he dismissed my concerns all together. At that point I was stuck and hoped for the best. At time of booking I confirmed that the delivery could be received the week of July 20th, Colin said that wouldn’t be an issue. July 20th came and went and each time I called to get an update on the delivery I was told they’d be leaving Las Vegas “within 24 hours”. Each time turned out to be a blatant lie. I called Colin, who then began ignoring all my calls and emails, so I got another Amerisafe rep named Chris. Another one who blatantly lied about delivery options and then denied he ever said that when called out on it. The movers finally arrived on August 3rd. One mover. He informed my son that the helper (hired off Craigslist) would be arriving by noon. Never showed up. My son called Five Diamond Movers and asked what could be done about this. My son was willing to help empty the truck but we wanted compensation. At least the amount that they were going to pay the Craigslist helper! He shouldn’t be required to do the work that we paid for! Five Diamond refused to compensate us so I called Amerisafe They were USELESS. They said “nothing they could do if the helper didn’t show up”. No sympathy. No compensation from them either. How did either company think that one mover could carry a couch up the three flights of stairs by himself?!! We were afraid they’d leave with his stuff so my son assisted just to get his stuff out of their possession.

If Amerisafe wants to contract with the worst companies then they have to expect bad reviews. This is a clear reflection on them! The estimate they give at time of booking is a joke. The moving company can dispute it as being too low and raise it AFTER your stuff is loaded into the truck! Which happened with us. In that case you have no choice but to agree to it. The stuff is being held hostage at that point!

I will be reporting Amerisafe to the BBB. They need to be held accountable for this horrible experience. And reading the other reviews I see I’m not the only one! Don’t be the next victim of their scam business.

THEY OFFERED ME $300 TO CHANGE MY REVIEW ON CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THEY ASKED THAT I CHANGE MY ONE STAR REVIEW TO 4 STARS! I HAVE THE RECEIPT TO PROVE IT! THIS EXPLAINS WHY THEY HAVE HIGH STAR REVIEWS! S-C-A-M!!

This was the worst move EVER! It turned out to be a nightmare. Every single person I dealt with at Amerisafe was rude and disrespectful. The agent who handled my quote, provided information in writing that was not company's policy. Per the contract/quote, they required a 25% deposit but requested more than the 25% from me. When I questioned that, no one responded. I was also told by the same agent, the remaining balance was due upon delivery as my move was under 300 miles. My move was exactly 239 miles. Every agent I spoke to prior to the move said that was incorrect and they do not know why the agent told me that which was also confirmed in an email. The company they secured to perform the actual move, Ocean Moving Inc, damaged my television and bed frame. I've tried calling Amerisafe and even sent an email, but it's been crickets on their end. I have not received copies of all the documents signed with the Ocean Moving. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BROKER! I WAS WARNED ABOUT THEM AFTER I MADE MY DEPOSIT! NEVER AGAIN!

I had a terrible experience with AmeriSafe. On the day of my move, I discovered numerous additional charges, such as for long distances. Even though I had paid an extra fee for living on the fifth floor, it was insufficient, and I would have had to pay an additional $1,000 to transport my belongings to the truck. They provide an initial estimate that seems reasonable, making you believe it will stay that way until they arrive at your home and assess various factors that cause the cost to double.

The salesperson mentioned that I could cancel within three days, which is reiterated in the contract multiple times, but in the fine print, you find out that even if you cancel within the timeframe, you won't get your money back—only a credit. The customer service is awful; they hang up when you report issues. The supervisor who attended to me was arrogant, never apologized for what was happening, and blamed me as if I were supposed to understand all the intricacies of moving and foresee the extra charges. It was a nightmare!

I lost a $2,000 deposit, was mistreated, and incurred various losses for not being able to move my belongings out of the apartment.

When they wanted our business the guy Joseph Moore, was sweet as a pie. Being brokers gave our business to Best Price Moving and Storage in Chicago ILL, . The guy who was sent to load our HHG ( household goods) was one RUDE CONDESCENDING SOB, of an individual. Never have I have ever worked with someone soo obnoxious, did not have any respect as to how to talk to a man or a woman.
He ripped opened the packed boxes, threw things all over the place in our home. On purpose broke the knobs on my Clothes dryer, punched holes in the exhaust pipe on the dryer, with hanger. I JUST DO NOT HAVE ANY WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW HORRIBLE OF A DEVIL THIS MAN WAS ( TRAVIS TRIPPETT) . Anyone reading this review DONOT LET THIS SOB STEP FOOT IN YOUR HOMES IF USING THIS MOVING COMPANY.
Ameri safe is also a 3rd class company. Please go with the better movers like
ALLIED VAN LINES, or better reputable movers.
Merchandise was supposed to be delivered 2-14 days, it took the bogus company to deliver our goods after 23 days.
Please trust me and definitely do your research and not go what the reviews are saying… maybe they are writing their own reviews. CUSTOMER SERVICE at AMERI SAFE is way below PAR, people are just horrible to work with… JACK! SARAH ( she was the worst of all of them)
This is my very honest and true opinion do your research before your MOVE.

If it was possible to give negative stars to this company that’s the rating they deserve. When our furniture was picked up we were told that the bid, of $7000 was low, they needed an addition $5000. Now they also explained that they understood that was a huge difference and if we wanted to go another route we could, BUT they were keeping our $5000 deposit. We were also told our truck would be to our new home within 2-14 calander days. In 3 days their window will be over, however now they are telling me they have 30 calander days to get it to us. When I asked I was told well the movers may have told you about the 2-14 days but it’s the consumers responsibility to read and find the 30 day loophole. Needless to say we have been in our home now for almost 2 weeks with only enough clothes for the time we were told and now are having to run out and do laundry, buy things we have packed once we found out they were not going to be here within the time frame told to us. All with 5 kids in tow not to mention the added expense. It seems like a great deal on the beginning, and the actual guys loading out stuff were very nice but the added cost and the misleading information about receiving our items has been way too much. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve spoken to managers and they have been rude as well, both my husband and I have been hung up on and lied to on multiple occasions throughout this process. So when you’re looking to move give a great deal of consideration to using this company, and when other moving companies tell you that Amerisafe has a bad reputation I would believe them instead of assuming that they were just trying to get more business for themselves. A very expensive lesson learned and much added stress to moving

This company took advantage of an 82 year old with dementia. She hired them just by googling “good moving company” not knowing they are out of Florida- she is in Arkansas. Made her put 7k down payment and a total of 14k to move a 2 bedroom across town. When we the family found out and tried to cancel over 30 days before the scheduled move,the company refused to give back deposit. Horrible experience and likely just scamers. Local movers charged her $1600.
Edit** we have tried multiple times to go through their customer support with no success. If the company actually cares they will look into it and I would revise the review. Customer/job number is 5243756…pretty easy proof

Overall, my experience with AmeriSafe Moving Company was a disaster. They demonstrated poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and a blatant disregard for the integrity of their work. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a moving company that values transparency, competence, and customer satisfaction.
