I had the pleasure of attending a course with Henry Davis today on the topic of The Key to Property Investment. Really useful training session. Henry has a substantial knowledge of this subject. What was especially impressive was the real world knowledge, case studies and resources that we shared with us. Highly recommended.

I attended Henry's NRLA training…
I attended Henry's NRLA training course, "The Key to Property Investment". The course is online. Henry has lots of knowledge and experience. Very helpful for both new landlords and existing landlords. Henry also provides significant material / worksheets to take away which is useful.

Excellent advice re query about EICR
I contacted NRLA with a query about landlord's obligation to send copy of EICR to local authority. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and professional and advised me on the exact actions I need to take.

We are sorry you are having difficulties with your landlord.
To clarify, the NRLA is not a landlord or an agent. We are a trade association and provide help and support for landlords.
You can seek advice from Citizens Advice or Shelter.
For complaints about letting agents, you can seek advice from the independent complaints body by contacting the relevant redress scheme or the Property Ombudsman.
Letting agents should be a member of one of:
• The Property Ombudsman
• Property Redress Scheme
You can ask your letting agent which body they belong to or check on the relevant website. If your letting agent isn’t a member of a complaints body you can get help from Citizens Advice.
Deposit Protection Disputes:
If you don't agree that your landlord or agent should have kept all or part of your deposit, or you disagree with some of the costs that they have taken out of it, then you can contact the tenancy deposit protection scheme your landlord, or agent has used, who will offer a free service to help resolve disputes.

Advice line that provides no useful advice
Never found any useful advice from the ‘advice’ service. Just refer you to legal advice as they are not legally trained. Given almost all property questions are going to have a legal or regulation element, what is left that can be actually answered.

A really amazing and helpful organisation. As a landlord they are our go to when we are not sure what to do, or need confirmation on a matter. Their advice, support and helpfully library of documentation is such a valuable resource, not to mention the news letters and updates on the changing property rental market.
