If I could give zero stars I would, ordered 2 dishes last week of June and never arrived at our house, we made a point of staying in all day and thankfully have a doorbell camera to prove our truth, only to then discover the company have decided in their infinite wisdom to charge us for another delivery which we DID NOT sign up to and they’ve just helped themselves to the money and said they’re delivering again today, for which nobody is in to check this out! No second order was ever placed by us and it begs the question how the company would assume what they can ship to us without checking likes/dislikes and even more importantly allergies too!!
So if this is indeed delivered, it will have sat on a doorstep all day in this warm sunny heat which in turn will degrade the sauces to a lovely “off” state
Would I recommend? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I genuinely don’t understand where all the glowing reviews for Nonna Tonda come from.
I ordered my first box for a camping trip, thinking it would be a quick, convenient, good-quality meal in the camper van. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing food deliveries I’ve ever had.
I tried the Carbonara and the ‘Nduja & Scamorza Ravioli with Sage Butter. Both were incredibly bland, lacked any real flavour and had an unpleasant texture. The carbonara was so bad I threw it straight in the bin. The ravioli wasn’t much better – despite sounding delicious, it was completely tasteless and nothing like I expected.
The marketing and photos suggest fresh, restaurant-quality pasta, but what I received was nowhere near that standard. For me, the quality was extremely poor and the meals were, quite frankly, inedible.
I had intended to cancel my subscription but couldn’t log into my account. Thankfully, when the next order was due, the payment didn’t go through and the subscription was cancelled. Looking back, I’m actually relieved because I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to pay for another box.
Sadly, this was a complete waste of money. I really wanted to love it, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t order from Nonna Tonda again.

I haven’t been a customer for several years . A few months ago I received a phone call from their sales team asking me to re subscribe. I declined but the caller was very pushy . When I said no he told me he needed 2 more sales to make his commission! I explained again that I wouldn’t be re subscribing.
Yesterday I received a Nonna Tonda box (left outside in the heat as we were out all day) and a charge to my account. I’m fuming.
I was a loyal customer for quite a while, recommended them to others. I won’t be anymore!

Used to be good, recently gone downhill in terms of quality and consistency of portion sizes. I kept missing out on crucial parts of the recipes, being told these were picking errors, but only when I complained was I told this and given a refund. Also missing recipe cards and sometimes tiny portions of food. Last straw was receiving gone off cheese for my pizza, and dough that wouldn’t rise. It was clear the temperature hadn’t been kept correctly, I know I got the box that morning and put it straight in the bin. I just can’t be bothered wasting money and time on this anymore. Besides I always add to the recipes anyway so what’s the point. Shame.

I have been a customer of Nonna Tonda since 2019, during which time I recommended their service to friends, some of whom became regular customers. My loyalty spanned over seven years, and I have expected a level of professionalism and consistency.
That expectation was shattered when I attempted to update my payment method. I followed the instructions on their website, added a new card, yet my old card was charged again. I tried to rectify this by re-initiating the process—both cards appeared on my account, but there was no option to remove or designate a preferred payment method.
I contacted customer service via email, titled "Update payment method." Within minutes, I received a reply with the subject "Failed payment update," stating that my account had been disabled due to the failed payment and demanding that I pay for my most recent delivery. However, my bank statement clearly shows that they charged me at 5:30 a.m. on the delivery day, three days prior to their email.
I requested an explanation but received no response. I followed up, requesting account closure and expressing my frustration. Their reply was dismissive—stating that since they received my payment, they are willing to close my account, with no apology, no acknowledgment of the issue, and no attempt to address the situation properly. I again supplied bank statement evidence confirming timely payments, yet I remain unconvinced of their commitment to customer care.
This situation is deeply frustrating. Seven years of loyalty, multiple recommendations, and not once did they pause to investigate or resolve my issue properly. Instead, they falsely claimed a missing payment—an error or potential fraud on their part—and offered no proper explanation or apology. Their attitude reflects a complete lack of regard for their loyal customers, focusing solely on acquiring new ones through discounts, while neglecting those who have supported them long-term.
This raises the question: if their product is worth only 50% of its price in their eyes, given their apparent prioritization of new customer offers over retention, then their business model is fundamentally flawed. I suspect their strategy is to leverage short-term gains, possibly in anticipation of acquisition or failure, rather than genuine customer care.
I am done. I wanted to share this experience in case others encounter similar issues and mistakenly believe it’s an isolated incident. It’s not. It’s a deliberate business strategy.

Ultimately I’m quite unhappy with my experience with Nonna Tonda, mainly because of the subscription aspect, which allows you to skip deliveries, manually, up to month in advance, but you’re not sent any “You’ve got an upcoming pasta box” or “Choose your recipes for upcoming delivery” notification, by email or text. Which means it’s incredibly easy to forget and then you’re just charged on the day (I have been twice) with recipes you haven’t chosen and otherwise would have skipped. It’s either poorly planned, or somewhat shady as its business model involves customers forgetting the pasta is due on a certain day and being charged anyway.
The first pasta box had delicious flavours, then the next I received was very mid and quite disappointing. I really wish I could be refunded or cancel the order but the company gives no option!!
Couldn’t recommend after my experience and will have to cancel the account which is a shame.

The food is good quality and tends to be worth the price, although the vegetarian recipe options aren't as varied or interesting as I hoped they'd be.
However their cancellation policies are surprisingly predatory: your online account makes it look like you can cancel at the click of a button, and when you try to do so you're taken through multiple steps where it asks you to confirm that yes, you definitely want to cancel. And then right at the last moment you're told, sorry, the only way to cancel is to call or email them.
I was trying to cancel before the 22:00 cut off (after which you cannot cancel the next delivery), and I called the number supplied, but conveniently they aren't open after 17:00, and they offer no automated phone cancellation option. So this effectively means the cut off isn't 22:00 - it's 17:00, since this is the last time of day anyone will be available. As a result I was unable to cancel and they've sent out food I do not want.
This cancellation policy is sneaky and while technically legal, is absolutely anti-consumer and guarantees I won't be return despite the quality of the food. Every company I can think of, including independents, offer cancellation online. It's extraordinary that Nonna Tonda have chosen not to offer this in the hope that they're able to reduce the number of cancellations.
If you're having to reduce churn by making it difficult for people to cancel that doesn't suggest you have a lot of confidence in your product.

It was 4* but I’ve just encountered a large piece of sharp black plastic I. My meal this eve. Luckily I caught it in my teeth before ingestion :/
Be careful. Not as ‘wholesome’ ingredients as advertised.

Customer service is excellent but I am afraid for me the pasta and pizza dishes just did not live up to what I expected. I found the dishes to be hit and miss.
For example, the last dish I had was a seafood pasta. I was expecting some prawns etc but all it had was tuna. Perhaps I did not read the description with a fine tooth comb but I did not see exactly what seafood was in the dish when reading the description on my phone or on the preparation card. Therefore if I had have known I would not have chosen this dish.
Other than that the packaging was wonderful and the delivery excellent. I am just not a big fan of the pasta and pizza dishes.

Dishes you would find in a restaurant and not available in supermarkets. Great for me as when on-call, and come in late, I can make a meal quickly without having to think too much about it. Meals 2 dinners or 3 small lunches. Can freeze it as well and make at a later date, which is a bonus when planning meals. There is the flexibility to skip delivery if you don't fancy the dishes or not in. Well worth it. Been a customer for 3 years and definitely recommend.

Got lured in by the free pasta pop-up, but it’s clearly just a way to get people to sign up to a subscription that sounds way more flexible than it actually is. The guy came across quite patronising, and once I realised it might not be for me, the attitude felt very dismissive as he just walked away to grab the next customer. Not a great way to sell a product - you’ve lost a potential customer, and kinder staff would definitely help. Avoid!!

I added a few fresh basil leaves which only enhanced the wonderfully creamy sauce. Being alone, I eat one portion on two succeeding days, so am really looking forward to dinner tomorrow. I hope this dish is offered again before too long as I will certainly choose it again.
