SCAM. FRAUD --Can't believe I saw these reviews too late about the deposit scam-- they took $600 deposit and Never paid it back-- seeking compensation from Discover cars that should have not let these scammers on their site that we rented through and maybe our credit card agency...

Still waiting for my deposit more than 3 months of returning the car. I was promised 45 days maximum. I am still hopeful

I want to share my experience with Nokta Car Rental to help future customers make an informed decision.

Firstly, despite advertising as an airport car rental company, they are not actually located at the airport. Instead, they drop off and pick up the car at a meeting point, which caused serious inconvenience. When I arrived at the arranged location for vehicle return, the staff member was not there, and I was left waiting — almost missing my flight as a result.

At the time of pickup, the staff member who helped with the contract strongly persuaded me to purchase full insurance, even though it was extremely expensive. I eventually agreed, hoping for a smooth and worry-free experience.

Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The car itself had a serious safety issue — it would roll backwards on hills when switching from brake to gas. In a city like Istanbul, which has many steep roads and hills, this was incredibly dangerous and unacceptable. It made driving especially stressful, especially since my mother was unwell and I needed a reliable vehicle to get around.

Despite driving minimally and having full insurance, the company still made complaints during the return process. They sent me several photos of supposed damages that were no different from the video I had taken at the start of the rental. In the end, they pointed out a flat tire, which felt like an excuse to find fault.

They also took a €350 deposit, which I’m still waiting to see how they will handle. I will update my experience once I have more clarity on that.

In summary, I would not recommend this company, especially to those who value professionalism, peace of mind, and respectful communication. Their lack of punctuality, aggressive upselling, poor vehicle maintenance, and questionable return process were all deeply disappointing.

I hope this feedback helps improve their service and prevents other customers from facing the same difficulties.

⚠️ Be Careful — They Don’t Refund Deposits and Give Many Excuses

I rented a car from Nokta Rent a Car in Turkey and had a very bad experience.
They asked for a large deposit when I picked up the car — much higher than what was shown online.
When I returned the car in perfect condition, they promised to refund the deposit within a few days, but weeks have passed and no refund was made.
I contacted them many times through phone and email, but they either ignored my messages or kept saying “the refund is processing.”
It seems that many other people are having the same problem — they hold people’s money and don’t return it.
Be very careful before renting from them.
Take pictures of the car, read the contract, and never pay in cash.
There are many better and more honest companies in Turkey that don’t do this to their customers.
I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

Des voleurs voilà le terme pour cette agence. Aujourd'hui ça fait 32 jours que la voiture a été rendue et je n'ai toujours pas récupéré ma caution. C'est une bande d'escrocs sans vergogne. Le pire ils ne répondent jamais au téléphone, j'ai fait intervenir un avocat à qui ils ont dit 30 jours et elle aura son argent. Je dois faire intervenir un huissier de justice pour récupérer mon argent la pire expérience de ma vie pour location de voiture. C'est abject et inhumain

Absolutely unprofessional experience with this rental company. I had a confirmed reservation, and on the very same day of pick-up, they canceled it without offering any proper solution. This left me stranded and forced to book another car last minute at a much higher price.

This is not acceptable. I made a valid booking, and it was their responsibility to provide me with a vehicle at the agreed price. Any serious rental company would have arranged an alternative car, even through a partner, instead of leaving the customer with no options.

If I could, I would give them zero stars. They don’t deserve even one. Strongly advise others to stay away from this company.

3 months and deposit of 22,000TL still not returned.
14th October update
After more than 3 months, they returned the deposit and deducted 2,000 TL, they said this is service fee of 20 euros for gates.
10 years renting in Turkey, no one charged me a service fee.

This is not a rental company, this is an orchistrated gang of scam artists. I was involved in minor accident in which there were no my fault. In this situation the company was not communicative (they did not pick up the phone), so i was not able to get any papers from police, because they just left the scene.

Those bandits demanded €3000 (!) for 2 scratched doors ($300 max damage). After, they dropped the sum to €1150, i left them my deposit 24K TL, gave them $200 extra cash just to leave me alone. I booked this travesty via EconomyBookings. They don’t have an actual office in Istanbul, i had to drive for 1.5 hour to speak to some shady freelancer.

Never ever consider Nokta. This is pure scam. They earn money by extortion, not by giving out cars.

This is a scam operation. They will absolutely not return your deposit.

I returned the car at night time, They showed me an old bump above the front tire, up on return, I was surprised how he could even notice it, he took a 700 $ deposit from my card, this company is a big spam, I intend to suit them.
Booking from them was a big mistake.

Nokta Car Rental in Istanbul is running a deposit scam. We rented a car 6 months ago, paid a 800€ deposit, and returned the car in perfect condition. Since then, nothing. No refund. Just lies, delays, and complete silence.

We dealt directly with Mr. Emin Bozan and Mrs. Yelda, who repeatedly promised the refund would be processed. They gave excuse after excuse, also she completely stopped responding. This isn’t bad service — it’s fraud.

This company is dishonest, unethical, and not to be trusted. They are holding our money hostage, and we’re now pursuing legal action. Save yourself the stress, the frustration, and the financial loss.

DO NOT RENT FROM NOKTA. You may never see your deposit again.

Je recommande pas ce fournisseur, ils sous-traitent la location de voiture et en plus ils m’ont donné une catégorie de voiture inférieur à celle que j’ai reservé (citroen c4 reservé) - renault clio recu vraiment une bande d’arnaquer à fuir

Rented in Albania, Tirana - the entire process was smooth. Very friendly and helpful.

Pas de présence à l'aéroport de Casablanca , aprés avoir joint trés difficement une personne au teléphone , les tarifs se sont envolés passant de 90 € à environ 400€ au prétexte de retard à l"aéroport , sorte d'amende soit disant prévu aux conditions générales du contrat ,rédigé en anglais , changement
de tarif , pour dépassement d'age du conducteur de plus de 70 ans , aucune information sur cet élément lors de la souscription. etc etc . Je n'ai pas les mots pour qualifier ce loueur de voiture . Fuire NOKTA

I rent a car from this very badcompany when I receive the car they take all the cost of rent and they take from me also $1200 as a refundable insurance until now they didn’t return me the money .

This rental car company held my deposit for over two months, longer than the 25 working days stated in my original contract. When I inquired, they claimed it was 45 working days and then sent an "updated" contract. They also tried to charge me for over mileage despite my "limitless" mileage agreement through VIPcars, bringing it up multiple times. VIPcars offered little help, stating they are just a broker. I found their practices unethical and their customer service poor.

About a month before the holiday, I made a reservation to rent a car from this company. During our conversations, I repeatedly mentioned that I was a foreigner and that I was staying in Turkey with a work permit. However, just one day before my reservation date, I was informed that my booking had been canceled.

The reason given was that my passport did not have an entry-exit stamp within the last six months. However, this requirement was never mentioned to me during the reservation process. I am not in Turkey as a tourist; I have a work permit, a valid driver’s license, and all the necessary legal documents. Despite this, my reservation was canceled under the pretext of an insurance issue.

If you are a foreigner planning to rent a car from this company, I strongly advise you to check whether your passport has an entry-exit stamp from the last six months. Otherwise, you might face unexpected issues at the last moment.

This situation caused me a lot of trouble and ruined my long-awaited holiday. While there are more reliable companies available, working with a company that enforces unclear policies is risky. No matter how affordable it may be, it’s not worth ruining your vacation over such an experience.

The worth company that u can deal with , just runaway , they gave me a car with a small damaged which i took a picture of it before i received the car , and the guy who is delivering the car he said don’t worry already you paid for fully covered insurance, after i deliver and i return back to my country they send me mail that they cut all the deposit amount that i paid which it was 12,000 TR because of the same damage , and they send me the same picture that i had before i take the car , i tried to contact the manager which his name is sinan , he replied so clearly this the system and do what ever you want

Ich hatte im September 2023 ein Fahrzeug für 30 Tage bei Sabiha Gökçen Flughafen angemietet und war sehr zufrieden. Es war wie über VIP Cars reserviert ein fast nagelneues Diesel Fahrzeug mit nur 6.000 km. Die Rückzahlung der Kaution wurde innerhalb von 1 Woche ohne Abzüge zurück überwiesen. Und auch die Kundenbetreuung über den Mietzeitraum war vorbildlich! Ich für meine Person würde wieder bei nokta Auto ein Fahrzeug anmieten.
