I took my time in deciding to order a device as I wanted to explore the option of NHS provision but was told in no uncertain terms by my local trust they wouldn't' even look into it, let alone consider it as an option. I was very frustrated with this as it is approved to be prescribed under current NHS guidelines. I called to discuss and get some guidelines from Noctura as I wanted to make sure I was a suitable candidate and there would be a potential of benefit with use. I spoke to Kirstine who was knowledgeable, transparent in the pros and cons and at no point pressured me with a sales pitch. She has remained my point of contact from the beginning and is a wonderful representative for the company. Once I made the decision to purchase, which took some time as it is quite a chunk out of my recently limited new budget, the device arrived very quickly and well ahead of the activation day I had chosen. I had a delay of nearly a week before I could use the device which I ended up appreciating as it gave me plenty of time to review the instruction material to make sure I would be adequately storing and using the mask correctly. The initial impression was one of surprise at the quality and comfort when I fitted it. I was a little worried that I would find the light difficult to adjust to but right from the first fitting I can confidently say it had no impact on my ability to sleep at all, the main difficulty I had was making sure it was in the right position as the light was so unobtrusive I kept lifting up the mask to check it was positioned over my eyes correctly. The adjustable band makes fitting it very simple and once positioned I found it very secure and pretty immovable. It was hard to say at first if I really was noticing a change or if it was placebo effect as from the next morning I noticed a slight improvement in the wetness of my eyes and how quickly my vision settled down to a usable state. For me it takes around an hour to an hour and a half for my vision to become 'usable' - i.e. reading and driving standard but that morning it was about three quarters of an hour. This can happen from time to time so I noted it and continued to assess over the next few days and then weeks. I can now say confidently that I have noticed improvements in all problematic areas of my current level of vision aside from light sensitivity when outside but I'll take it. Usually on getting up my eyes are full of water and I look like I'm fighting back tears. Now the fluid is still there but much reduced and can be blinked away. Focus is much, much improved and usually within half an hour I have usable vision and I'm getting on with my day. I wasn't expecting a miracle cure and didn't get one but what I did get was something that has noticeably helped stabilise my vision and when I have the injections to relieve my retinopathy and oedema I have every expectation that this will be a valuable tool to maximise the impact of the treatment. I cannot recommend this company enough and would encourage anyone on the fence to speak with them and ask any questions you might have as from beginning to end they have been incredible.

Confidence in buying the Noctura 400
Before purchasing Noctura 400, I had many questions which were answered and reassured me to go forward with the purchase.The product was delivered within 24 hours of ordering it.
I have been using the Noctura mask for 1 month now and find that by wearing it, my eyes feel more relaxed. The green light that comes from the pod does not interrupt my sleep, however, I need to secure the strap better as it sometimes slides up and down on my head. I have been advised to secure the strap with a grip on either side, which I will try.
I am due to have a diabetic eye test soon and hope to have some positive results 🤞🏻

Great Retinopathy treatment Mask
I saw the article of the Noctura 400 on the internet, while searching for solutions to my Diabetic retinopathy. After ordering l received immediate follow-up phone call. The mask was delivered the next day. There is a follow-up call every fortnight from customer service to enquire about the progress of my eye condition and the comfort of wearing the mask. Delivery service and customer service follow-up is excellent.
The mask has improved my eyesight. During my yearly diabetic eye screening test in the middle of July, I was informed my eyes condition is stable. I have realized the improvement of my eyesight. I recently received my second mask. Delivery was excellent. I recommend the Noctura 400 to anybody with Retinopathy problems.

Just received my second mask, exactly when I needed the next one. I’ve been using a Noctura 400 since April. I saw a comment on Reddit recommending it for Retina treatment, whilst sitting in an Airport just scrolling to occupy time.
I had an appointment with my ophthalmologist this morning. There is a significant improvement, not accounted for by the antiVEGF injections I have been having for a year. This is an unexpectedly marked improvement, which can only be use of the mask.

I was diagnosed with DMO in January and was told I needed urgent treatment, the vision in both my eyes was blurred, but my right eye was so bad I could only see a black cloud. My Optician said he wasn’t sure if treatment would improve my sight he explained the reason for the black cloud was because of the swelling behind my eye.
I was unable to go for conventual treatment in Hospital due to a severe phobia and the NHS refused to fund me to go a private clinic.
I purchased the Noctura 400 sleep mask and almost straight away my vision started to clear , I didn’t expect any improvement that quickly, in fact I can say I was honestly sceptical and did wonder if this Mask was so good as the testament’s read, why is it not available on the NHS as surely it would help so many people and save so much money.
Well my vision continued to improve and the black cloud cleared, I had a repeat OCT scan and full eye test last week just 12 weeks after the last one, and my Optician was amazed he said the swelling in my right has almost gone, and my overall vision in both eyes had improved. I don’t need to see him for another 6 months.
I am now starting my 4th month with the mask, I cannot stress enough how this has changed my life, to be able to see properly again

My experience to date with the Noctura 400 face mask
n August last year I received a letter following my annual diabetic eye sight test to say that issues had been identified in both my eyes but particularly in my right eye and an appointment was being made to see an eye specialist at my local hospital.
Having been a Type 2 diabetic for the past 16 years without many issues this caused me to panic a bit !!
I had seen articles about the Noctura 400 eye mask on the internet, but was very sceptical about its use/success, the cost and the fact it had not been adopted by the NHS.
Anyway in advance of my appointment with the consultant I decided to take the plunge and purchased my first eye mask, still very sceptical, I had various eye tests at Specsavers (kindly paid for by Noctura 400) to give me a base line to test my wearing of the mask.
I had my appointment in January this year and was pleased to find out that my eye sight/issues had remained stable with no change. I told the consultant about the Noctura eye mask and he stated it had been tested the previous by the local NHS but did not achieve the 60% positive response for results that might have meant it being available with the NHS. When I asked his advise on its continued use he was of the opinion that it would do no harm and may offer positive results.
I purchased a second mask in January this year.
I went for a second full eye test and scans at Specsavers in mid-March this year (again paid for by Noctura 400) and in discussion with the optician was advised that again there was no deterioration in my diabetic issues but that my eyesight had actual improved in both eyes and that I needed to reduce my prescription !!
I was delighted with this news and went ahead and ordered my third mask, which I’m currently using now.
Although I am unable to claim it is the Noctura 400 face mask that at this time has halted any further deterioration in my eyes regarding diabetic disease or helped improved the eyesight in both my eyes, I don’t believe that it is coincidence with what has happened to me personally and I will continue with the mask wearing at this time and continue to monitor the results.
After all I have said there are several negatives for me.
The main is the cost of the mask and the hope that the NHS does adopt it in the future, the second is the difficulty in the wearing of and keeping in place the mask overnight as I like to sleep on my side or stomach. There are some great groups on Facebook who have offered various tips but still an issue for me but will continue in the hope that a more successful means will be found for keeping it in place !!
Hope this honest review helps anyone trying to decide what to do.
Changing my life.
Was not sure if it would make a difference but after about two weeks I started to notice a change in my eyesight, for the better. I have been using the Notura 400 for just over 2 months now and can say it has been a great benefit to my eye health and less bleeding, Fantastic

The tech is clearly leaps ahead of others, but the comfort and the suitability, not so much. I find this slips off my head every night, and if I'm getting anywhere near 50% of the use intended, I'll be surprised.
The comfort of the strap is very poor, and undesired. Needs better comfort and ease of use to actually stay on.
