It's easy to write a 5* review when everything goes smoothly and without incident. We actually had issues - we hired NHIG and a couple of issues that were discussed as "things to look out for" at the start of the project came to pass, and there were delays a result.

Rather than argue, haggle or blame others, NHIG owned the problem, took it on the chin and continued to deliver. As a result we got a great quality outcome, maybe 1 day late (when it could have been weeks had they not worked so hard to figure out the best ways around the problem).

I always say I prefer to judge companies based on what they do when things go wrong, than when things go right - you get to see a glimpse of who they really are at that point. And I have to say, thank you NHIG for your attitude and solution-focused work. The guys on-site were lovely, and the back office worked to address all our anxious silly-customer queries.

We recently hired The New Home Improvement Company to build a pergola, lay a new lawn and patio, and we couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, the process was seamless and professional.

The pergola is not only beautifully constructed, but also adds a wonderful aesthetic to our outdoor space. It's perfect for hosting gatherings and enjoying some shade on sunny days. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and it's clear that the team takes pride in their work.

The lawn installation was equally impressive after two terrible experiences with our developers laying the grass. The grass looks vibrant and healthy now and has finally taken! The team ensured everything was laid perfectly, and a few months on, it's looking fantastic!

Additionally, the patio complements the pergola beautifully. The tiles were laid with precision, and now our outdoor setup feels inviting and stylish. I appreciate the attention to detail in every aspect of the project.

Communication throughout the process was excellent. The team was always available to answer questions and provide updates, making the whole experience stress-free. They were all very polite and kept going even when the rain was getting in the way!

The new driveway company have helped me over the last few years at both my business and private home with various projects. I would highly recommend the New Home Improvement Group for any of your needs. Communication was brilliant throughout my experience and always delivered a 10/10 service.

We used the New Home Improvement Group to install a new resin-bound gravel driveway, porcelain patio, patio door and new LVT flooring throughout the ground floor of our house.
The process from initial consultation and drawings through to installation was excellent. Darren and the team listened to our requirements, advised and discussed all the options, helping us to shape the design to meet our needs.
Throughout the work the team were polite, friendly, tidy and patient with family life, with neighbours commenting on how considerate and helpful they were. The team on site also highlighted any issues in advance, helping us to finesse the final look exactly as we wanted.
We are incredibly pleased with the end result, it looks stunning. We haven't hesitated to recommend Darren and the team to friends and neighbours who have seen the finished product.

New Home Improvement Group had previously built a patio room for me. We were extremely impressed with their work on that project, so had no hesitation to call them in for ideas on how best to deal with the unsightly concrete area in our back garden.

They gave us a number of options at different price points, but the one we chose was to entirely resurface it using resin bound gravel. They explained that it would first be necessary to drill holes through the concrete to facilitate drainage - hugely important for us, as the area tended to puddle easily.

Communication and project management was excellent throughout, and they even managed to bring the project forward so it was finished in time for our planned garden party. All of our guests were hugely impressed with the transformation, and we're delighted - what used to be an eyesore is now one of the best features of the garden.

I feel it appropriate to leave our review after seeing the other one listed. Our experience has been a breath of fresh air with this company. From initial design to the workmanship and general attitude of all involved being wonderful.

We are looking forward to appointing them on phase 2 of our renovation next summer.

Back in May this year we did a lot of research to find a supplier that we felt we could trust to do a high-end, quality job on a new patio and garden room. This led us to finding the New Home Improvement Group; our initial thoughts were - a solid set of accounts (companies house) and a professional looking website detailing the process - inc. positive reviews & testimonials. So worth contacting…

This led to an initial consultation with Darren (MD) at the house who walked us through the process and gave us ideas on the different materials choices, how the process would work, and the timescales involved. My takeaway from this meeting was I liked the idea that there would be various specialist to carry of the specific work – groundworks team, patio team, carpenters etc. It certainly wasn’t a one-man band plus he obviously knew what he was doing!

After approving the quotation, detailed plans were drawn up and the project team came onsite a couple of days before work started to ensure we understood the plan - material delivery, which team would be onsite and for how long etc.

Fast forward 12 weeks we have a wonderful new patio, new bifold doors fitted to the house and a new garden room (gym and music room).

My takeaways from the whole experience:
• Added value to the house
• Completed some additional extra jobs without asking for additional money! Not something I asked for, something they felt was right to do!
• Patio guys were an amazing crew – high end finish!
• Garden room (30sq.mtr) looks amazing – high-end material and finish.
• Would recommend without a moment’s hesitation.

No doubt the building trade is a hard profession to keep all clients happy – sickness, weather delays, some people expectations of perfection etc. and therefore there is always going to be negative reviews in this industry, however I can honestly say I wouldn’t be one of them!

The New Home Improvement Group
I reluctantly need to share concerns about The New Home Improvement Group following work they carried out to install bifold doors, build a wall and construct a patio. If you are thinking of commissioning them to carry out work, be very careful. The initial planning was good but problems started to occur from day one of the project work, when it was clear that the team were not aware of detailed requirements and there was little guidance from a project manager. I had to step in and soon found that I had to continue throughout the whole project to guide and supervise in order to correct errors, of which there were many, advise on specifications, and monitor and lead progress. Project management from The New Home Improvement Group was deeply lacking.

Two specific serious concerns are first, the bifold doors were initially installed incorrectly. The New Home Improvement Group have attempted to install them correctly but, without the necessary competence, have been unable to and I have now lost confidence that they would ever be able to, making excuses that the supplier is to blame. Second, with insufficient protection, ‘type one’ material was stored on our driveway. They then used an excavator to move it, badly damaging our drive. They have refused to carry out any repair or rectification work. We now have to live with the damaged drive.

What started as a promising relationship soon deteriorated primarily because of a lack of project supervision by the company, and a lack of care and competence. I am sure that there will be clients who are satisfied with The New Home Improvement Group, that the company would be able to create explanations for our experiences, and conjure up glowing testimonies, however if you are considering commissioning them, be prepared for many issues during the project and quite possibly to have to carry out much of the supervision work yourself.
