Reporting an active fraud site on Netcraft turned into an unnecessarily frustrating experience. Just minutes after submitting the initial report, I received an automated rejection stating that no threat could be found and that the case was closed.

To even have the report reconsidered, I was forced to fill out yet another form, dispute their automated classification, and manually provide additional evidence—which I did. Expecting users to jump through secondary administrative loops just to get a genuine threat reviewed is completely counterproductive.

Putting obstacles in the way of concerned users who are simply trying to protect others from financial or data harm is unacceptable. A dedicated cybersecurity platform should make it as simple as possible to flag active scams, rather than shifting the burden of proof and effort back onto the reporter.

Netcraft classified our legitimate business as "phishing" and escalated abuse reports to our hosting provider — without attaching any supporting evidence. No screenshot, no malicious URL or payload, no malware hash, no explanation of which page element supposedly triggered the classification.

Our site carries a clear disclaimer, publishes full Terms, Privacy, Refund, Disclaimer and Contact pages, and collects no login, banking, or email credentials. None of that meets the definition of phishing.

We submitted a detailed, point-by-point dispute through the proper channel. It went unanswered. The same unsupported report was then re-sent to our providers regardless. No human to reach, no evidence to act on, no acknowledgement of a good-faith response.

If you're going to send "attack" classifications to a company's host — with the real operational and reputational damage that causes — the minimum standard is to include evidence and to respond when the classification is formally disputed. Netcraft did neither. A bare label with nothing behind it, repeated after it's been challenged, isn't security research — it's noise that harms legitimate businesses.

Absolutely horrible company, hope someone sues them for their fraudulent conduct that damages legitimate businesses.

VEYYO Limited Partnership, operator of SWAPD, has received repeated false phishing classifications from Netcraft concerning legitimate marketplace listings. These inaccurate reports have resulted in Cloudflare restricting access to our content, causing reputational harm, operational disruption, and financial losses.

We responded promptly to each complaint and provided clear evidence that the reported pages were not phishing, yet Netcraft failed to provide any meaningful response. We are formally documenting the resulting damages and will pursue legal action unless the false classifications are withdrawn, all affected third parties are notified, and further inaccurate reporting against our platform is stopped.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Falsely accused my new business website of fraud and had it shut down, causing absolute turmoil for my customers and growing business.

Absolute losers. Cost me days of revenue, and had absolutely 0 warning or no representative even reached out to confirm, but just got my website taken down, with 0 proof.

Netcraft wrongly flagged my legitimate gym website (titansgym.site) as "Web Shell" and caused it to be suspended by the domain registry.

The website is a clean WordPress installation for a local gym business with real content. There is no phishing, malware, or malicious code whatsoever.

This false positive has caused significant damage to my business - the website went down immediately and I lost potential customers. I had to spend hours dealing with support and filling out unsuspension forms.

Their automated detection system is clearly flawed and suspends innocent websites without proper verification. A manual review should happen BEFORE suspension, not after.

Very disappointed with how this affected my legitimate business. Netcraft needs to improve their detection algorithms to avoid these false positives.

Reported a checkout page behind a CloudFlare turnstile as impersonating expedia.

They then reported this to the IP regulator and CloudFlare and action was taken based on their report.

There was nothing.. it was just an error and customer is now experiencing downtime for no reason.

Netcraft is a joke wrapped in a failure stuffed with incompetence.

Their "security" service is actually a business-destruction service. They flagged my legitimate company as dangerous based on what appears to be a coin flip.

Zero verification. Zero accountability. Zero intelligence.

When their system screws up (which is often, based on other reviews), they hide like cowards. No response. No fixes. Just automated damage to real businesses.

If you value your website's survival, stay far away. These clowns couldn't secure a paper bag, let alone provide accurate internet security data.

Netcraft.com is abusive and should be taken down. This company spams claiming false statements to take down legitimate websites. It's done by bots and are very inaccurate. Even Microsoft made a complaint about Netcraft falsing claiming their website should be taken down.

Blacklisting websites without any responsibility. I hope they will be sued one day for "mistakenly blocking a website".

Netcraft is totally bonkers... I'm not even joking. Their reports are legitimate (sometimes), but more often than not, you can't help but send them straight to the trash after reading

I don't understand why Cloudflare takes down sites off the false positives of Netcraft. Outdated technology.

They falsely reported my site page for phishing to Cloudflare and Google and then CloudFlare reported to my hosting. Page was deindexed and whole site had sign that it does phishing attacks. They admitted they reviewed the site and agree that it was incorrectly identified as malicious but till this day I can't restore the page back as it is flagged.

My website somehow turned into a fraud, and I was a formal website that could provide logistics vouchers, but the appeal was never effectively replied.

This website came out of nowhere and reported that my website is allegedly running phishing attacks. It caused wrong set of actions triggered by my hosting provider and my site was disabled for sometime.

Who are these people sending random false positives? Your algo sucks guys, please stop abusing website owners randomly!

Utterly abhorrent bunch of fraudsters sending false positive take down notices which permanently affects your organic search engine rankings and other far-reaching side effects. You guys will get the karma you deserve.
