Brilliant company and products

I have purchased numerous items from Museum Selection and have always been happy with both the service and products. They have lovely gifts, that have been well received by family and friends. I have once had a problem with a damaged product, but that was remedied by MS quickly and efficiently! Royal Mail is used as their delivery agent and I am more than happy that they do!

Je viens de faire une commande de 2 articles sur catalogue... ils me remercient et m annoncent une livraison dans un ou 2 mois... d autres entreprises qui vendent de cette façon (catalogues vêtements etc )n ont jamais de tels délais. Comme si ce n était pas encore fabriqué ? Sérieux ?

The customer service is dire

The customer service is dire, they send me 7/8 of the same catalogues each period to the same address and after multiple communications asking them to stop they are still coming - 6 arrived this week alone!
Sign up to them at your peril - you will get a trees worth of post weekly!

Had to contact customer services…

Had to contact customer services regarding a faulty item. I emailed on Wednesday, had a reply on the Thursday and my replacement delivered on the Friday. Excellent customer service from Nathan.
It’s a shame some people have had a negative experience with them. I’ve always found shopping with them straightforward, delivery has been quick and kept well informed along the way.

Personal data sold on

I purchased an item from the museum sellection and soon after I started receiving LOTS of post for different companies and literally in the past year Ive had 100+ scammer calls claiming to be from car phone warehouse, 3 mobile etc. Its been a nightmare.

It was soon revealed that the Museum Selection had passed my data on as it said:
"You've received this letter as your details were passed to us by Museum Selection."

I didn't agree for my personal data to be sold on to others. I emailed my complaint to Museum selection and asked for my details to be removed from their database.

Wish I had never bought anything from here. Never will again!

And just had a look below and see there are others this happened to as well. Wonder if we could all sue you for GDPR breach.

Visited Wollaton Park Museum

Visited Wollaton Park Museum, interesting & educational mixture of machinery & technology advances over the centuries. The staff there are experts in their subjects, professional & extremely helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there & were disappointed when the day came to an end. My advice, go there & enjoy the collection of facts, information & displays available. 5 stars from me - well done for making this such a fantastic experience & giving us another not to forget memory.

Nice items but took forever to arrive

I bought two luxury items for Christmas from this company with some excitement, as I don't often spend large amounts of money. However, although the ordering process was easy and my money disappeared out of my account, the items took a very long time to arrive, which I wasn't expecting. The first item arrived separately but I had to chase the second item, which took almost a month to arrive. I was very pleased with it when it did arrive but spent some nail biting moments thinking it would not arrive in time for Christmas (it was a special present) despite ordering on the 20th November. I am not sure that I would use this company again because their dispatch service seems very haphazard and caused me some distress. If ordering, I would recommend ordering well in advance as it takes forever to arrive.

After three months very disappointing

After three months of being told that the item I ordered was in stock/ out of stock/ being despatched/ been despatched/ out of stock/ back in stock/ providing a tracking number….only to be told a couple of days before Christmas that it was out of stock and I would receive a refund.
This company’s customer service is at an all time low.
Offered a 15% voucher off my next order (this was not the point) I’ve asked to be removed from their mailing list.
What they needed to do was send me an alternative or similar product free of charge to make up for the disappointment and literally hours that I had spent on the phone with them over the 3 months.
Contrast to Lands End where within an hour of sending them one single query I had a personal email at 10pm explaining what I had asked - with my order turning up the next day - that shows that however large a company gets it can still value it’s customers.

Colis bloqué en douane depuis le 2…

Colis bloqué en douane depuis le 2 novembre, mais cela n’inquiète personne. Nous avons eu cette information le 15 décembre après 4 appels. En général, la douane informe l’expéditeur... apparemment pas eux !!! Plate forme qui vous raccroche au nez, sur 4 appels deux fois, on a l’air de les embêter... super. Commande annulée en attente de remboursement.

What has gone wrong with this firm?

I placed a large order in early October this year. All items said on website to be in stock. Only with the first delivery did It become clear that this was not true. I phoned and queried where the rest of the order was, and also expressed concern that I had needed to chase for this information. Customer service trained response assured me rest of delivery would soon be on its way. It did not arrive. Two phone calls later and I discovered that the delay was now resolved. But that delivery was minus an item and I made yet another call. This item was now out of stock. Would be back in stock early November. Second week of November came and no items delivered. I phoned customer services who couldn’t understand why I had been told it was in stock as it was due in later that week. I phoned the following week. I was told it was being quality checked before being moved to storage in the warehouse. I should expect delivery by end of third week of November. I phoned at end of second week of December as not arrived. Operative told me that the item was never in stock. Could not understand why anyone would say it was being quality checked as the firm never had intended to supply this item. Seemed to disbelieve the trials and tribulations as aforementioned. I had to ask if I would receive a refund and an apology. Said yes to refund but it was as if my request for an apology had been silent. Certainly it was ignored. Something very serious has gone wrong in this firm.

Since Caroline’s response on 20th December (see below) I returned a form requesting my contact details etc but have heard nothing since (today is 9th January 2024). So, again, I ask.... what has gone wrong with this company?

I am very satisfied

I am very satisfied. I recommend Museum selection.
I bought three products through this site. All three are of very good quality, they arrived within the expected time and in perfect conditions.

This should be zero

This should be zero. I placed an order on 27th November, item supposedly in stock. Took my money and despite several phone calls item not received. Told me today14/12 they would refund my money but not hopeful reading reviews. They even sent me an email on 08/12 to tell me it was waiting for despatch. Now sold out apparently. Will never use them again

Update 18.12.23

Miraculously , despite being told it was sold out, it has appeared today, and is a delightful little thing. Clearly need to sort their procedures out.

Disappointing, can’t order from them again!

I order four items, two eventually
arrived, I had to call to chase.
Just called again (07/12) to enquire about my other two items. When I ordered, 17/11, two items were not in stock but were due in early Dec. Apparently one won’t arrive before Christmas. I had no notification to say this item won’t arrive before Christmas, I was only told when I rang.
So very disappointed, can’t use them again, very bad service.
Be aware if you order you will need to chase, it may never arrive!

Another anxious customer still waiting for goods and unable to get positive answer in spite of phoned calls and emails. What's going on? Very poor service esp🙄🙄ecially before Xmas.

Delayed items

Ordered 2 weeks ago . Made 3 emails asking when my delivery . They say express but that is not what I have experienced yet.I appreciate its a busy month but starting to lose confidence, I have had a reply and now they don't have the stock . And have cancelled my order . Will not use again which is a shame as they have lovely goods

Order not completed after more than 2 weeks

Order not completed after more than 2 weeks. Money taken from my account however. On telephoning they say the order will be delivered in 3 days but the order is still not complete and has not been delivered. This is the last time I will use this company.
04/12/23 It is now 19 days since my order was placed, order still not completed and no contact. They say they will contact me - never happened. If I do not hear anything within the next few days I will be going to the Financial Ombudsman.

Poor customer service

I have previously been a contented customer and have generally been pleased with the quality of the items purchased and the service received. But I ordered an item of furniture in March. From time to time I received an email explaining a delay with the order. Finally I was told it would be delivered by DPD - I arranged delivery on Nov 20th when we could plan to be in all day. No delivery and no sign of what had happened to the item. We have phoned on a number of occasions complaining about the delay, and again on Nov 21st, saying that we had lost patience with the whole thing. We would no longer accept delivery of the item and wanted our money and postage costs back plus compensation for the poor service. We were told someone would get back to us, but we have heard nothing since (and still no sign of any delivery!). We will not buy from this company again.

Just to note the resolution of my complaint. The company agreed to refund my money. They did not initially refund the postage amount included in the total, but then relented and increased the amount to be refunded. Despite the fact that I paid the money back in March, they refused to add anything by way of compensation or interest. The money has still not come back into my account, but I am told it is on the way.

Items ordered, but there was no stock

Ordered 3 items 6 days ago. All were in stock and order went through. After 4 days one item was refunded. Then another on the next day. I learn this via PayPal who send me notifications of refunds. As the postage is five pounds this was more than the remaining item of 4 cards. I then cancelled everything. Will not purchase anything from this company as there is no confidence that they will actually deliver the goods. Eventually I receive notification that the items ordered are out of stock. This is not good business to allow customers to think they will receive items then find out there is none. In this instance items were for gifts and unable to purchase anything else as it's too late. Such a let down by this company.
