Virtually impossible to opt out cookies in Molton Brown’s website. I gave up browsing their website. Very disappointing. I would expect more transparency from the company.
I really like many of the products, but what is really frustrating is the poor customer service when you order online. Just opened up a package, only to find that the free sample had been forced into the gift-wrapped order - therefore damaging both. Come on Molton Brown - use people who know how to pack a parcel. What's the point of shopping online if the items are going to arrive damaged. You try and contact customer service but never get any response beyond a holding email.
At the end of the day, the products are good but it means I'm going to have to re-gift wrap when that was partly why I ordered the items I did.
Molton Brown web services are terrible. I have given up. Part of the attraction of buying Molton Brown as a gift is the gift wrapping. So Molton Brown has a sale online and doesn't offer the gift wrapping. This was not clear until after the transaction, so I had to cancel the purchase wasting my time. So I thought I’m passing through London I’ll do click and collect. I do my shopping and get to the select a store section and it seems that none of their London shops offers click and collect. You know the silver lining is that I shopped locally. That’s great for our little towns shop keepers.
A luxury product? Luxury service ....... No.

I usually shop instore with Molton Brown but decided to use online because of an offer. I ordered Friday afternoon and my parcel arrived perfectly packed with free samples on Tuesday. Impressed.
Customer service in stores Ive visited is wonderful, very helpful staff, letting me know special offers, throwing something in for free. Yes i know their products are expensive so i spent a lot at the time, but they are excellent quality, last ages, smell amazing. Wouldnt want to buy online, its not the same as going into a store, using testers, seeing everything easily, getting help there and then. Hope shops stay open, i do look out for them wherever i am.

This company actually starts the process badly in that they accept your order on-line but then don’t send you an acknowledgement e-mail. Their excuse is that they do this when they send your order. However, if they’ve sold out of the main items in your order then they just don’t bother at all. Luckily I paid by PayPal and had a copy of my order from them and phoned customer services after I hadn’t heard anything after a week. Having waited for callback and gone through everything with a rather unfriendly girl she informed me the two gift crackers I’d ordered and one of the items that made up a gift set were out of stock and I’d have to choose something else. When I had the temerity to ask when they would have let me know this, what do you know, I got cut off. The next girl was far more helpful but I still ended up with nothing like I ordered. Would you like to receive a Christmas cracker or a scrub bar? Wine had to be hastily added to these boring presents to make them acceptable. As for the gift set we managed to get that sorted by changing a product in it with a scrub bar thrown in for inconvenience. To make matters worse they were still advertising the items I didn’t get on-line.
What a poor company, paid for an item. It didn’t arrive, when I contacted them on three occasions they totally ignored me. I paid by PayPal so I will get my money back.
I tried to leave a review on their site, this was rejected three times because they don’t like negative feedback.
What should have happened is they should have contacted me to find out why I am upset. The answer would have been, taking money without sending the goods is no different to theft.
Calling customer services appears to be a waste of your time this time of year. Over 60 minutes waiting for an answer to my call then closed without notice while I was still on the line. Don't mind waiting if I am treated fairly but this totally unfair treatment. Missing item in my order also unfair and unresolved!!
